Well than most likely x transbots secured rights to the mold with the customizer or was in negotiations. But then they scrapped the project.

Not really. X-Transbots did plan on making a Galvatron similar to that, no idea who shopped that pic to have the X-Transbots logo on it or why they did it, but it wasn't all theirs.

Man, I still want to see what the this mystery silhouette by CHMS was and, I still think this Ultra Magnus would be pretty sick today.

Well, it's based off Jizai's transformation model. Here's a prototype for Xtransbot's Galvatron.

It probably became Mania King eventually.

Nobody bought anything, they are all based on a design by Jizaitoys.
X-Transbots started out just KOing 3rd party toys, in fact many believed at the time that it was just CHMS differentiating 3rd Party KOs from HasTak KOs, partly due to X-Transbots being advertises as "CHMS Presents X-Transbots".

The custom is simply someone making a custom based on the design since it was the best transformation scheme for a G1 Galvatron toy.

Pretty sure UT based Maniaking on it due to the transformation being so very similar, but again, that's due to it being the best transformation scheme for Galvatron.

Anyone remember that company that announced super posable, highly detailed show accurate figures for Ironhide and Ratchet, but all they showed were paper cutouts they downloaded from a papercraft website. Remember the full version of Transformazing's Ultra Magnus add on kit? Apparently they were devastated by the fandom's reaction to the price. Can't remember what that price was, though and it's taking more digging than I want to do to find out.

Ah OK, lol that must have been the last thing they announced before they grew quiet.

That UM set, I seem to remember an article stating that they canned the trailer part because that would cut the price in half, so what ever it was when it came out, double that and you'll have the original price. I think it was like 150-170, all I remember was that it cost an insane amount of money, especially taking into account that it was an upgrade kit for a small deluxe, and had about as much to offer as the FP City Commander set did which retailed for 70 back in the day.
