Yet by your own admission you can't accept that people don't like it.
So why keep hammering the question? The answer is simple. YOU need to accept that people don't like it.
It really is that simple.
Okay, I'll accept it. Let's not argue.
You can accept it, but they should also accept that people like the movieverse. There's a lot of "I can't believe it!" on both sides.
Don't cave to Burn's pov completely.Burn wrote:My POV that he should enjoy TF's his way and not let the ways others enjoy it or not enjoy it impact on his?

My POV that he should enjoy TF's his way and not let the ways others enjoy it or not enjoy it impact on his?
Autobot032 wrote:Accepting needs to work both ways.
Burn wrote:Autobot032 wrote:Accepting needs to work both ways.
Yes it does.
But some people are incapable of that. At which point you just accept that they have their opinion, you have yours, and move on.
I've seen many "discussions" go round and round in circles simply because both parties won't accept that they have differing opinions and it ends up becoming completely and utterly pointless.
And often results in threads getting locked.

At the end of the day YOU have the control over whether another person can influence your enjoyment of something.

This is the part I was talking about.
Accepting needs to work both ways.

I know what point you're trying to make, and I can tell by the exclamation point that you're becoming frustrated.
Part of my point is that you need to take your own advice. You're part of the problem. You're unwilling to listen past a certain point, and you keep going.
I still stand by what I said: Easier said than done.
You aren't willing to accept or understand that people's comments do affect one another. You say "hit the back button and walk away", but you know better than anyone that that doesn't happen and sometimes doesn't work. (And seeing posts of your's in the past, I'm quite sure you have personal experience in not hitting the back button yourself.)
You don't allow what people say to affect you, but it's not because you're able to tune them out, it's because you don't give a damn about what they have to say and you make it very clear that only your opinion matters to you and if someone agrees, great. If not, well...
That's not always how it works in a community. Sometimes, there is no back button.
Instead of getting frustrated with what we're saying here, why not take your own advice and hit the back button?
I'm not being a prick here, I'm asking out of genuine befuddlement.

Oh now that was funny. Exclamation marks are for emphasis, it doesn't necessarily constitute frustration.
Still, thanks for the chuckle mate.Part of my point is that you need to take your own advice. You're part of the problem. You're unwilling to listen past a certain point, and you keep going.

See what you did there? Told me to stop doing something then did it yourself. You aren't willing to accept or understand that people's comments do affect one another. Actually I understand perfectly. When have I said I didn't?
It's called learning from experience.
How many times have you responded and incited a flame war instead of hitting the back button?
Yeah, just think about that one for a little bit.You don't allow what people say to affect you, but it's not because you're able to tune them out, it's because you don't give a damn about what they have to say and you make it very clear that only your opinion matters to you and if someone agrees, great. That's your judgement of me.
Here's the thing. You're wrong.
I don't allow what people say to affect me because that would be silly. If I didn't care about what others had to think then I wouldn't have created two different discussions asking for people's opinion now would I?Instead of getting frustrated with what we're saying here, why not take your own advice and hit the back button?
'cause I ain't frustrated mate.OptiMagnus10 wrote:There is no way you can tell me, Burn, that you have never become worked up over something on here and engaged in an arguement.
I'm not telling you that. Never have I said that I haven't.
I have. Many times. I learnt from experience. I'm sharing with you, from experience, how I learnt to deal with that sort of thing. And let me tell you, it's helped me increase my enjoyment of TF's.
Some how though, my words are being twisted around and being treated as inflammatory. Far from it.

This? This is the kind of thing that can incite anger.
You're laughing at the post and the situation, but also at me, somewhat.
I'm not going to get angry over it, but it needed to be pointed out.Burn wrote:See what you did there? Told me to stop doing something then did it yourself.
Yeah! Because you keep going round and round and round and you're not letting it die. You're not hitting the back button.
I can't respond if you don't. True?Burn wrote:How many times have you responded and incited a flame war instead of hitting the back button?

Never said I didn't. In fact, I said I'm not an angel. Never claimed to be.Burn wrote:Some how though, my words are being twisted around and being treated as inflammatory. Far from it.
No one's twisting your words. And saying that you're being unrealistic and unreasonable to some degree is not the same as saying you're being inflammatory. I didn't say you were doing such a thing. That's twisting my words, or at the very least implying that I had.

I guess the hate could be a positive thing for him. Maybe it'll motivate him for TF3 huh?

I think we'll be pleasantly surprised by the third film. Orci & Kurtzman have nothing to do with writing it.
I still say they are the weakest link in all of it. I think the 3rd film will prove it, too.

Well the death threats from the first movie didn't do much.
But as A032 said, it's really those two bit over-rated "writers".
