Arrayo on lost i understand where the polarbear came from, but where did it go? if the bear got off the island, why couldn't they
For the same reason the cast of Gilligans Island took so long too get rescued. More seasons and honestly they could have got rescued quick. You know but trapped on a deserted island with Ginger and Mary Ann I would break the first coconut radio too.

Array read an interview with the people that created Lost. They said it themselves they have no idea where the story is going...
That must've been a really old interview than...
Back in season 1 they didn't really know where they were going and the writers didn't create an ending because they didn't know how long the show would be running. Basically ABC told them to stretch the story (this is why season 2 is the weakest season) for as long as they could because ABC wouldn't establish a fixed ending.
The producers (Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse) have stated that they figured out where the story would be going between seasons 1 and 2 though. So they do know where Lost is heading and have known for quite a few years now.
All that was left for them to do was get a fixed ending of the show (2010), so that they could spread the remainder of the story across the remaining time.

You can't just start watching Lost somewhere down the line, you need to begin with the first season and work your way up to where we are now (season 5 is just around the corner).
If you won't do this you'll understand f*** all of the story and yes, in that case Lost is gonna suck.
