New Code. New Database. New game Engine. ummm....yeah
Something we've all been prepared for for a long time. Just to bad Ike didn't hit next year.
Merc With A Mouth wrote:Easy come, easy go. So is this version going to be retired forever then? If so can we please have an offical send off tournament?

Do we keep our current characters at current levels when HMW2 comes out, or is it another start from scratch?

That was a nightmare. Couldn't have happened at a worse time.

Psychout and the HMW staff will be in charge of all that.
Absolute Zero wrote:Since it's a new game and new code, I'd wager a no, another start from scratch.

Which would mean that everybody has to work on their overall ranking all over again.
Too bad those who cram in loads of hours endlessly now would just wind up wasting their hours.

My only response to that is why not just play the game to have fun. Try to be the last top spot of v1. Try to win a v1 tourney badge so 5 years down the road some noob can ask you what that's for, and you can say "Well you see young buck, back in the day ...". Everyone that is here who thinks they are going to be "wasting" there time isn't here for the fun. Play it to say you did play it. Give yourself a goal before the switch. Build your bots up so you can say you one the tournament that ended v1 (Should there be one, which I don't know why there wouldn't be).
Just have fun.

OS, you rock. Don't let anyone else tell you otherwise. As being a rather new joinee to the community, only having been here for about 7 months, I have enjoyed this game so much that I go through withdrawl when I don't get to play, when family comes into town I worry about how much I'm missing. It's an addiction I've come to love, and I know you and the other staff spend long hard hours putting precious time and resources into a completely FREE game that is done simply for the love of it, with no gain other than the feeling of having done something great for TF fans.
I think people need to realize this. Whatever personal grudges or issues you have, what would happen if the game went away because the developer and one who runs it got so fed up of the flack he was taking? Come on, back off. Enjoy the game! I would have given up long ago if I had to listen to half the crap being tossed his way. I don't know the backstory, I don't care to know it. I just think that everyone who runs this game is damn awesome for writing it, hosting it, and providing it to us.
So bravo. I look forward to V2 with baited breath sure that it will be every bit more exciting than V1.

Oh how I wish I could claim I were young againYes I do and that's why I posted what I did
I have fun with this game. It brings me back to my childhood and takes me away from playing deputy and military and all the other grown up things I do in life. I always thought when I was younger "I don't wanna grow up" this lets me bring the kid in me back out. Life is to serious outside the game, why make it so serious in the game. It's a good get away that costs nothing but the fraction of the fee for your ISP to play.
Deep Thought o' the day:
The perception of the world is relative to how you look at it. Look at it as wasting time and you will waste time. Look at it as depressing and you will be depressed. Look at it to have fun and you will find fun.
Live each day for what it is,
For, Yesterday is gone,
And, Tomorrow may never come.

Mate, i'm only an Uncle, (though practically full time father to the kid) but you're a father, relive your youth through the kiddo.
I AM!

Stop it! Stop making me feel bad that I can't join the Maximals. Between admiration for Starlock, my best friend being a Maximal, a working FACTION FORUM and now this general attitude on the other side of the river, I am quite disappointed.

Haha. It's just that you have it worse than everyone else (as a faction) yet your scores are staggering.
