25th Grunt was in a TRU 3-pack with Hawk and Duke. http://yojoe.com/action/08/grunt11.shtml
He's not bad good, as his colours make him stand out a bit from the rest of his O13 brothers (and sister), but he still fits with them. The flag on the shoulder, the shade of green, and the brown straps are nice.
As for 1982 Grand Slam, you're outta luck, my friend. What I did was got an extra Flash, removed the weapon and backpack, gave him a different helmet and an M-16, and coloured the brown parts of his costume black for '82 accuracy.
If I'm not mistaken there was a 25th anniversary Grand Slam released with Sky or night sharc as a Target exclusive.

Yes, but that was Grand Slam's v2 costume, not his v1.

Is there a big difference or is it something that only guys like us would notice? Also, dude, you gotta do a wallpaper style shot of the ages 25 and up yearbook picture.

My image hosting site has temporarily disabled uploading... Remind me later and I'll put one up for you!
Grand Slam's v1 costume was like Flash's [green uniform, red pads], only Grand Slam's gloves, shoes, and leg straps were black instead of brown, like Flash.
His v2 costume was a darker green, and the pads were silver instead of red. The 25th Target-exclusive Grand Slam that came with a repainted S.H.A.R.C. is his v2 costume. He's the same character, just that it's not is original costume. It'd be like putting a v2 Ninja Snake-Eyes in your O13 lineup rather than a v1 Commando Snake-Eyes. Not that anyone other than a Joe fan would care.

Thanks for the Grunt info, guys! I've never even seen that three-pack, so I suppose I must turn to evilbay.
Facepalming myself for not remembering that there's a $50 SHARC that comes packaged with a Grand Slam... especially since I was looking right at one not two hours before posting my question.
Since I *somehow* got myself to shell out $90 for essentially a Short-Fuze (yeah, it came with a HISS, and a MOBAT, and a 'Bubble and some other d00ds, still a $90 Short-Fuze
) I guess I can bring myself to get Night Specter...

If those pack did sell so low, no wonder I found the Crimson HISS from that pack for less that $10 bucks. Hell the Sticker Set I t I bought to give it custom Numbers and stuff cost more than the HISS itself.
I haven't heard much about the TRU Troop packs, But I found both at my local TRU on Saturday, and them went back as they went on sale on Sunday to get get the difference back. How long ago did they hit US retail. (Canadian $34.99 each, on sale til the 10th for $24.97)

I hate you. No, no I don't. You know that, it's just that things have been rough down at the plant and... er, um, sorry. Anyway I only ever saw one at my Target for $60 and it was opened and missing figures and accessories.
Got my TRU sets, haven't opened them yet but the cobra ones looks to be a winner. I love that Duke and looks like he can fit with Assault Wolverine from the movie line. Heck throw Punisher and Nick Fury in and you've got some fan boys XXX dream.

Isn't the unmasked one the wave 2 figure that has a suction cup, or something?

This is the one with the bare chest with the giant slash on it. Also comes with the double bladed back pack.

Right, I just thought the variant didn't involve the face, but something like the gear is placed differently, like the Pit Commando. I could be wrong...

The figure is posed the same way from what I've seen it's just a masked unmasked thing.

Just got back from the local mart, and I bought a RoC Cobra Gunship with Firefly for 18$ (they were at sale, the usual price for them here is 50$++) This vehicle is awesome, and the last time I've seen stickers that needed applying were at G1 TF figures.

Due to a Rewards member shopping day and a door buster sale on Friday I had a bit of a haul of ROC figures:
Snow Serpent- So where does he fit in ROC continuity? Is he higher or lower in rank than an Ice Viper? I like how they included the Ice Viper rifle since it is a homage to the Snow Serpent V.2 rifle but other TRU exclusives are loaded so I have to scratch my head with the omission of his AK-47. Although since the Winter operations pack I've been dreaming of one with a folding stock.
Rex Lewis (black coat)- Couldn't find the variant, probably was gone on Thursday. I figured I had to have one version of CC and this guy seems the least offensive. Couldn't find the variant of Artic threat Storm Shadow either.
Night Adder- Yeah no blue tat variant. Doesn't look as big in package as he is. Isn't he like the first official named Cobra character who is black? History is made.
The guy named Craig McConnell who is supposed to be Brendan Fraiser- Very bulky. I like how he's a combat specialist with an Ax and Chainsaw. If they ever do Sgt. Slaughter I can see them using this body. Perhaps a 25th anniversary Maj. Barrage?
Charbroil- I never had Barbecue so this guy was my flamethrower specialist. I really wish they tried to recreate his original kit more than just give him BBQ's but such is life. do like how they found a use for DVD pack CC's head.
CS Snake Eyes- I gotta say he looks good in person, a bit disappointed by a lack of a holster for his side arm. Sheath seems kinda bent but that's par for the course with how they package things.
No new vehicles out but the Alpha's were finally starting to thin out.

Re: GI Joe Fans Unite-- 25th Anniversary Fig Talk and More!
Looks like there will be a new GI Joe ongoing following the continuity of the Marvel run. First a #155 1/2 issue on Free Comic Book Day then a #156.
Looks like they'll ignore the Devil's Due continuity.

Diamond recently released information on the Gold-level sponsors for Free Comic Book Day in May 2010. Our book for that level is G.I. JOE 155-1/2, an all-new story that picks up where the old Marvel series (which stopped at issue 155) ended. The book leads into a new REAL AMERICAN HERO series that starts with issue #156. The online cover image wasn't the final version, though--that one is pictured right here, with art by Augustin Padilla, who's doing the interiors on this new book. The inimitable Larry Hama scripts, of course.

I'm of two thoughts on this. On one hand, I like the IDW titles and have enjoyed then a damn sight more that the IDW TF books, but I don't feel as connected top them as the original run.
Two, I am disappointed (but not surprised) by the disregarding of the Devil's due books which I thought were well done and I really got into the Phoenix Guard, and Red Shadow stories. Two areas that I feel could have given us some sweet figures if Hasbro had backed it further. DD did a good job updating the line while maintaining a good connection to the Marvel books.
On the plus side, that does bring Lady Jaye back from the dead, but I hope they can capture the actual G1 feel, or we could have a stinker.

Once I ran an Anime festival with over 6,000 attendees. Now... not so much.

A lot of the Devil's Due stuff felt like crappy fanfics.
EDIT: And trust me, I know a thing or two about crappy fan comics!
