GI Joe Fans Unite-- 25th Anniversary Fig Talk and More!

Do you collect other toys besides Transformers? Maybe you've got a Masters of the Universe collection you'd like to show off, or maybe you like Thundercats, Voltron, G.I.Joe, Power Rangers, Star Wars, Wrestling, or any of the various comic book toy lines. Please keep the discussions here to non-Transformers toy lines.

:BOT: Just finished the GI Joe DVD set. :(

Since Comic-Con, I've been watching these episodes on the weekend (sometimes on my lunch break). Today, I finished off disc 16 and thought "Awesome! What's next?" Turns out the last disc was the bonus features. I was sorta bummed because I was anticipating another adventure (Of course, there is an empty slot in the set for the movie. Maybe it's time to re-watch that as well :) ). It's been a real joy re-watching episodes I loved as a kid and episodes I've never seen before.

On to working through the Transformers boxset... :CON:

What I liked was the fact that after 20 years I got to see all the episodes as they were instead of the condensed mess that's been in my head.

Well what is wrong with it? I'm interested in hearing.

Recently scored Paris Pursuit Storm Shadow at WalMart, miss-priced at $3.00, and got a Neo Viper and Scout class Ejector at Khol's for fifteen dollars, then I used the fifteen dollars off card they sent me in the mail. So I've been doing pretty good lately at getting toys for nothing.

Decided to check Zellers to see if they got anymore SNAKE armors while they have a sale on, didn't find any but picked up the Rescue pack as I could use the figs for mods.

The blue tint on the 'Navy' Neo-Vipers looked interesting enough so I tried swaping one for the neo-viper parts on my Cobra Shipwreck. Greatly improved his look, that alone made picking up this pack worth it.

Well I finally got th best of 80's DVD set in the mail today. I haven't opened it but it looks awesome. Definately the best-looking figure in he bunch is Alpine though mine has eyes that make him look like he's had one too many. Cobra Commander is almsot perfect save his neck which is molded to where it makes his head look bigger but the paint looks nicely detailed.

Duke hs the new arms instead of the infamous "duke arms". And the Cobra solider is petty much the same mold with a different helmet. I can't really tell if it's the Resolute helmet mold or not. But it looks better than the one that come stadard on all Cobra solider molds.

I think this set would've been better if it came with a Trouble Bubble and Viper rather than a CLAW and another Cobra Soldier.

Keep the CLAW have Alpine fly the trouble bubble since he piggy backed onto SE's after taking out a firebat. Loose the trooper and put in a CG paratrooper since they were the ones that broke the cameras.

Found the Past and Present set, and all 4 of the Walmart Exclusive Sets. Haven't open PP set, so can't give any info on what is or isn't cool, but I think half the appeal is the in box way that it is presented. A nice way to display MISB, but I might get one to open...

My Attack and Defense of Cobra Island just came in and MAN I can't get over how awesome Alley-Viper and Range Viper are. I think they're the best figures in all of ARAH.

Certainly I'm WAY behind on this, but has anyone else ever seen a ROC figure called a Pit Commando? I saw one at Target late last week and picked him up, but I've never seen this figure before.

Well I've had 2 for over a month. If you go back thru this thread a few weeks back you will see a number of references to him.

Here I'll give ya the summary, the Pit Commando was the must have figure from the early waves. Short packed, variant packaged, and bought up by scalpers have made the guy very rare and expensive. I'm lucky to have found one of each version.

Well you grabbed them but did you buy them too or put them back down? Anyone remember the original jet pack had Zarana flying it on the box.

I know the sting raider is hard to find ,and Toys r us are releasing a repaint of it soon. Any chance we'll see the Cobra Water moccasin in its original colors next year?

Are there TFAC versions of Grunt and Grand Slam? They're all I need to complete the original 13. I know there's a RoC Grand Slam packaged with a vehicle, but I really would prefer a modern RAH version.

25th Grunt was in a TRU 3-pack with Hawk and Duke. http://yojoe.com/action/08/grunt11.shtml
He's not bad good, as his colours make him stand out a bit from the rest of his O13 brothers (and sister), but he still fits with them. The flag on the shoulder, the shade of green, and the brown straps are nice.

As for 1982 Grand Slam, you're outta luck, my friend. What I did was got an extra Flash, removed the weapon and backpack, gave him a different helmet and an M-16, and coloured the brown parts of his costume black for '82 accuracy.

After being completely underwhelmed by the TFCC 2010 figure announcement, I remembered that I need to ask.

Anyone a member of the Joe Club, that is willing to help me out when the exclusive Dr. Venom is released next year? Not really worried about the adventure team 3 3/4 figures and not concerned enough to join the club just save money to get him or get the Big Lob exclusive.

2010: Year of the "What they made him???" exclusives.
