I'm hoping that the TRU's in my area are getting the POC specials. Looking at Spirit, I just feel that is the wrong look for him, but that body might work well with a head swap from Ripper, for an updated look.

The reason you feel that way is that the figure really isn't Spirit, it's Billy from Predator. All the accessories except the bow and arrows are what Billy had in Predator. I heard that the entire Jungle assault set is a tribute to Predator.

I doubt it ends there with Colonial Marine Destro on the horizon as well.

As long as the figures are decent quality an gives me something to work on for my GICobra vs Red Shadows collection I'm fine with it.

Nope:

Maybe that's what you're thinking of?

Editor: that looks better than I thought it would, though personally I like the bigger head on the POC one. By the way, you have a nice collection!

It's getting there Neko. I hope in the next little while to do a massive clean up, and hopefully take a few better group shots.

Fiance is out, staying at a friends, and not much was happening with friends after we met for dinner so I found myself bored, So started a clean of the room where I keep most of my TF's and pretty much all of the Joes. clean up my desk, chucking out unneeded packaging and folding down others for archiving later.

It's now 2:30 in the morning and here's a bit of note while doing so.

1) Snake Eyes rip Attack Bike. Bought for $5. for the figure, opened bike to kill package, and while not interested as a display piece, my cats love it. Set it up and watch them chase it.

2) ROC Dial-Tone and Helix, Same person? same head sculp, same pay grade, same stock artwork for packaging, same thumbprint on file card????

3) Cobra Island Alley-viper and TFClub Dion, not the same shades of orange and blue, but close enough.

4) Didn't realize I still have 3 Neo-Vipers and 2 Pitt Commandos unopened, and Yes I knew I had picked up a Desert-Viper a while back.

5) A buddy that moved out of town a couple months ago left a box with me, to do whatever I wanted to do with the contents. A quick look when I got it netted my a G1 Blaster and Blast-off, but most looked like a lot of beat-up stuff that hadn't been touched in years, Looking thru it tonight revealed exactly that, however two jewels in the rough. A complete original Firebat, (needs new stickers, a wash and a bit of glue for a broken gun) and surprisingly a complete COBRA Bunker. The missile was trashed and useless but the bunker itself has all 7 pieces, and while it could use new stickers (doesn't seem like Cobrastickers stocks that set) I think I can spruce it up when I have a bit of time.

6) Good thing I check the Cobra Island Insert before chucking it, I had missed the spare BAT chest piece.

Running total, as of 3:30am, One bankers box of folded packaging to remove art and Filecards from later.
One garbage bag of total garbage.
Two garbage bags of cardboard and plastic for sorting at our buildings Recycling bins.
One cleaner desk with recovered leg space underneath.
Still no space to display my G3 Trailer.

Bonus bit:
While I was watching the last episode of Top Gear earlier this week, while messing around with my bitbox, I may or may not, in the TG tradition of "Ambitious but Rubbish" loosely created what could be called a Stig-Viper.

Picked up most the first wave of pursuit of cobra figures and the doom cycle today. Although I can't wait for my other treat to arrive this month sdcc blaster which rocks but this will tide me over. If you have any question about the figures or the doom cycle write them in here and I will try to answer them.

Correct me if I'm wrong but I think you wrote a comic that explains this nicely. By the way if you haven't watched episode 100 yet then you're really missing out it is a truly masterful work of art.

You mean this one? ;;) And thanks for the kind words!
Still no sign of anything remotely new/desirable on the Joe front up here in my area of Canada yet. Can't say I'm surprised.

The new POC Firefly. Very weird. I understand the whole armor stuff for his whole, "I'm a saboteur using explosives" deal. He looks even worse without the vest though.

Both heads are trash. The one is close to regular, but still not good, and the other is this weird alien thing, I know it's got a function, but it reminds me more of like Jet Jaguar (please excuse my Japanese/Asian film knowledge)... So different.

The backpack is cool though, and fits the smaller head, and the two- 'Helix' pistols he comes with (don't like-too small). His rifle is cool, and the mini-bombs are cool. The forearm gauntlets though make him look like he is ready to go play Bakugan.

But the accessories are the only thing good about him, IMO.

I also bought Snow Job. Superb figure, but I also have a love for arctic figures. Snow job is very real to his character, reminding me more of Mark Wahlberg's 'Sniper' character with the huge rifle, and cover blanket he can use.

The skies are HUGE! WOW! And yet they still fit and store on his pack, as do his ski poles, his lantern, his gas can, and his 'frying pan'.

Wait 2 heads? I remember hearing about a firefly variant, please don't tell me they went through with it. By the by, not being up on the whole Japanese anime thing, is a good thing.

My favorite so far from the first wave of pursuit of cobra figure is desert battle storm shadow he comes with very few accessories, but each of them has a purpose like the two smaller swords fit together to create a darth maul style weapon, and the mankrikigusari style chain weapon is just really cool after getting so many kama with him as of late. His outfit is really cool as well, white desert nomad style clothing but it looks like it has sand on it. I would say if your a storm shadow fan pick this figure up. My second favorite figure from the first wave is the modern alley viper he looks like any evil swat team member and come with so many accessories I can't even name them all.

Yep both heads for firefly are in same package. I have him as well I don't think he is that bad. I think what there trying to do with pursuit of cobra figures is introduce some some figures that have the style of the new t.v. show which takes place in the near future and that is why firefly is like that.

Yeah, it's not a variant to hunt down, it looks like in package it comes with a helmet, but it is actually a head to replace the other, if you so desire.

I don't hate it shortround, I just don't necessarily like it either. I'm such an FF collector, there are styles I know I like and those I know I don't. This ranks above the Ninja Force, but it's not great.

Yeah I'm with ya dub T I like Firefly but there are some I like more than others. The water mark for me is the comic 2 pack but if they ever do one like his VvV days with the holster on his chest…

So tigertracks which other figures do have from the first wave of the pursuit for cobra figures, and how would you rank them.

Before we get to far into POC let us pause for a moment and recognize those late wave figures and vehicles that for one reason or another (in this case one reason) never made it to market:

CS Duke
Desert Viper
Alpha Wave 3

Requistat en Pace.

I'm not even gonna touch the vehicle and figures I only saw once.

So anybody get POC vehicles?
