Agreed, a few in higher posistions had a second convo that had direction then we posted it in the large one it worked very well. And it was the most fun I've had.

Yet we got utterly splattered in Defection Wars, lol.

We did however manage to make it work in the following tournie (I believe it was a Bots v Cons one), mainly I suspect becuase no one in the RDD wanted to suffer that humiliation again!

That was the one before Defection Wars. My first RDD/AWC tournie was defection wars, and we were so poorly orginised (mainly cuase we had the right idea, but the masses refused to listen, it was also the time Puck stormed off in a hissy fit) I remember calling for Dyna's head (like only a noob can).

getting back on subject

could we get a new area/setup for arena/missions -could just be a option.
[one where the mission details are not in,/arena waiting list-only showing mission lvl,# tf's in-or waiting,so we can see/join where we want to go into battle more easy if we are on a time crunch.

just a idea i have had for some time.

Something I'd like to see...

Financial records:
How much energon you've donated and to whom...
Energon recieved from other players...

This would be helpful if we wanted to do a tourney where people had to 'buy-in' and then the prize money would be distributed to the winner(s). We'd be able to see who had paid and therefor elligable to win. Also it would (hopefully) eliminate those "Thank You for the donation mystery person" threads.

Also a bit where you could see how much you've spent on armor, weapons, and CR would be nice too :-B


And a question I had... Way back when I vaguely remember a mission/arena performance summary thing being shown.
I'm pretty sure that was Glyphs doing, but has it been scrapped or will it be part of V2?

Another thing that would be nice, though it would add absolutly nothing to game-play would be the ability to search for characters based on tech specs. Very much like the VSD Battle of the tech spec thing works.

Say I was intrested in seeing characters that had a Gatling Gun, I could set it to search for characters with FPR10 and SKL3 and I'd get a nice easy list.

Sure would help me anyways.

What about the ability to "rename" the weapons you use. The weapon would still perform as it should you can just custom name it to more reflect your character.

yeah i like CB's idea better, I'd much rather know who else is available for missions with me(and thus make friends/allies), than the peeps i'm friends with (cos i know them already) or enemies (cos i couldn't care less if alpha strike is online or not)

That function already exists on every PHP3BB forum ever made. It's called the Friends and Foes System. And unless it's not working it's already implimented. For those of you wondering Friends is a glorified speed dial for PMs and Foes is a blocked user list. It filters out all of their posts so you don't have to read them. In theory it saves on flamewars. But only if the posting populace is aware of it.

i didn't know where to post this,so i put it here,a few questions about friend/foe option in game,will it be like the board friend foe list?

what lvl of ignored will it be,will it be in the whole forum,or will it have its own area,because in the Heavy Metal War forum seeing all posts in HMW related topics from all factions is vital for clear input/feedback.

Posts by these users will not be fully visible

will this effect sig,avatar,img viewing? if so why have it,because these things are used a lot to send a message to others.

and can the friends names[text/background/or border] show up as one color[or a color per faction]and the foes show up as another,blocking any info is not a good idea in my book,even if you don't really care to see it,it's still info.

as for new ideas,
how about having a team ship you can upgrade
[ship repair bay-slightly lowers repair time for team if in same area]
[area def-team ship helps defend the area it is located in like the turrets will due.]or be used in attack role against turrets if no tf's join mission against them.
[weapon/armor/shield upgrades]
the upgrades could be bought,or even given by adv lvl of team tf's for each lvl they rise.repair of ship could cost $,or just be a set time for the lvl of ship,ship could be used to transport whole team slightly faster to new areas,and be sent to other areas solo if need be.
just a idea to kick around,i do recall something about spaceships but cannot seem to find it,but nothing about getting a team ship,and i have just touched the options of a team ship could have,when you think about missions to other areas off of Cybertron and how they get there,or teamship V's teamship space battles,and the like . or they could be a way to divide ships upkeep costs to each team,to help out the faction leader with that area of command,or to shuttle other teams faster to areas if there ship is not in the same area as they are for a small cost paid to owner.

Separate the tactics and alt mode portion from the main tech specs. It will save time if a commander wants to change his altmode and or tactics only.

Right, I was thinking about the head and targetmaster alt-modes, and why it wouldn't be possible to be one of the above with an alt-mode of your choice.

So I though, why not tie them in with the robot mode abilities (considering that they do involve the robot mode, and not the alt-mode)? Making them their own tactic would be bad, as four tactics for a bot would be verging on unfair to other players, so why not have the robot mode replace the highest cost tactic for that alt-mode to headmaster, targetmaster, and any other cool features that end up being implemented (Gestalts, anybody?).

I'm not sure if points in the robot mode should be ignored or not in this circumstance. We could have it that every point in the robot mode allows you to put a point in the tactic, or help boost it's effectiveness, instead of putting points in actual stats. Or we could remove points in the robot mode, so that those with passive robot modes have the strength or speed etc. advantages, while the other guy has an improved tactic choice.

Just a thought.

While that is the idea, is it forum based? How many players actually use the forum? If it is forum based than it isn't going to help, not when you can be loged into the game but not show up on forum.

basically you got a victory point for dropping an enemy below 50% health, or stasis locking it.


they do stuff like awarding victory to one side in a drawn mission, determining the amount of resouces you win from a mission, and other goodies

i don't particualrily like them as glyph proposed the idea, mainly becuase i think VPs should be tied to levels, and they stop functioning nicely once you start getting lop sided missions(which happens alot in HMW)

i'm not really sure we have enough players to stop that happening, especially with 4 four factions.

Im going to wait and see what Mkall comes up with and see how it looks. The VP system coupled with a war map might make for some great campaign games, espeically once we have 4 factions up and recruiting.

Letting a DM run HMW might just be the best thing that has happened here since ever.
