WARNING! The following posts relate to advice for HMW version 1. Version 2 will be out soon and things may change that will affect the following advice. Also be aware that The Programmer (Omega Sentinel) is also making changes and testing things ready for V2 as we speak (Quintessons missions, minicons etc.) in preparation for V2.

Handy Hints
Glyph previously setup up a HMW help website – most of this is now in the help files but there’s still a few bits and bats like minimum XP to get to level 1 etc. you might like here.
http://beta.wiserhosting.co.uk/~evermor/hmwutil/index.php
Your bots and cons will normally slug/blast it out in robot mode unless they use Tactics. In this case they will transform into their Alt-mode so the tactics available to them depend on what Alt-Mode you select for them. As I’ve already said there’s loads of info on this in the help files but this is also worth knowing: -
Speed boosts Avoid,
Strength boosts Ram,
Firepower boosts Strafe,
Intelligence boosts Repair,
Firepower doesn’t actually boost your damage caused by weapons, it lets you equip better weapons but it does boost your Strafe tactic attacks.
Also everytime you perform a successful Avoid you get 50xp and 50 energon - which can come in very handy to gain xp quickly in low levels.
Pre-HMW Version 2 Stuff
Omega Sentinel is releasing a few items we might see in V2 into the program as it is now so that he can test for bugs and how the new stuff works out before going 'live' to V2. Most of the time he'll drop them in as a surprise so we won't know about them when they turn up but here's a few that we do know a little about.
There's a stickied FAQ thread for that here: http://www.seibertron.com/forums/viewto ... =6386&sid=
Quintesson Missions
The Quintessons are trying to invade Cybertron, Autobots & Decepticons are joining forces to defeat them. Yes that's right you will fight side by side with member of your opposing faction, Sweet!
Be warned that they are Very Tough opponents (Level 6-8) and I highly doubt any transformers below level 3 will survive long enough to even attempt to attack the Quintessons, let alone hit them. - Omega Sentinel may be readdressing the balance of levels to allow for a lower level mission so you guys don't miss out.
You'll face Sharkticons (Level 6 warriors), Judges (Level 8 characters with a large array of special attacks including the ability to possess transformers and make them attack their fellows, tearing your Transformers apart and removing 1 ton of their armour as well and many other attacks.) and we presume Allicons will also be making an appearance but little is know about them yet.
Winning a Quintesson mission stocks both factions with a few minicons.
Minicons
As previously stated, winning a Quintesson mission stocks both factions with a few minicons.
You buy minicons, have the opportunity to rename them, and link them to a Transformer to give that Transformer a boost while the minicon is attached.
Don't get too attached to them - if your Transformers dies and it has a Minicon attached to it the Minicon dies and cannot be resurrected - you'd have to buy another.
They are designed to be used sparingly and carefully (hence the dying) to occasionally give you a boost in certain missions that you will want every advantage you can grab to win it.
WEAPON STOCKS
Shockingly in the run up to and after the release of the movie we've had a lot of new players arrive and weapons stocks for low level players are currently either extremely low or non-existant. You can view a listing of all the weapons here and this also lists how many are in stock: http://www.seibertron.com/heavymetalwar ... eapons.php
There's a later post in here advising about which weapons are worthwhile but to be honest unarmed brawling works better than most low level weapons anyway.
SIG GUIDELINES (pinched from another forum section)
awkwaRd wrote:1. Your sig cannot be any larger than 300 x 500 pixels either horizontal or vertical. This does not mean you can have a 500 x 500 pixel sig.
2. Your sig cannot be larger than 40kb in file size. If you need help shrinking your sig, ask and someone will certainly offer to help.
