Player Imbalance

the majority of level 1s are cons
cons win the majority of their missions entailing they survive
however
the majority of level ones don't have sufficient STR, RNK or END to allow them to take damage any better than level 0s, coupled with the Random targeting they are just as likely to recevieve damag as any other character, so while they may hand out more damage it's all agains the opposing team.

In reference to cons, yes, that is what I had observed. From what I have faced thus far level 1 cons have typically survived.
Either way on the solution, I'm just not sure if its necessary yet. Its only been (as tam corrected me) 6 days so far since the reset, do we honestly know how fast this will pan out that the cons will have a completely dominating advantage?

I say just scrap the XP bonus in unopposed missions. If you fight no one, you get no XP. That alone should close the XP gap considerably in the next few weeks. Plus it might encourage both sides to participate in both Missions and the Arena, as opposed to concentrating only on one. I know if there's no opposition in the Missions, but there's a Bot waiting in the Arena, I'll throw him a combatant.

We DO need to cut the Beast missions to 4v4, give us some dual 2 faction v. 2 faction missions, and stop the G1 factions from being able to generate missions against the Beast factions. These are needed fairly badly at this point, I think.

hows this sound
scrap win xp bonuses entirely
introduce survival xp bonuses; basicaly you get xp equal to your health*2^level, or maybe half your health...
except in unopposed missions, which pay nothing.
So, basically, you get rewarded for not being targetted/hit? Wow that'd suck.

I've always thought that unopposed missions should have a higher win bonus, as 'punishment' for the faction that didn't show up at all; if they weren't willing to put up the effort to engage in the battle, the trade-off is that the faction that did show up gets an xp advantage. That might provide more motivation to get people into missions as, even if they're outnumbered, they reduce their opposition's win bonus. However, currently, it would require that Beast Missions could only be generated by Beast players, to prevent Bot and Con players from just generating more Beast missions than the Maximals and Predacons can realistically fill.
As far as a win bonus based on health at the end of the mission, wouldn't that just make Avoid even more powerful at these early levels? Avoid is already the tactic of choice because of its bonuses, but having a win bonus based on health (which Avoid helps keep up during the battle) would make it even more attractive.

I think the beast factions can actually fill those up easily since when outnumbered usually its 2 or 3 on 6. Its nice to have a variety instead of all being 6 on 6 types.

Yeah, **** that. I don't see why I should be penalised for no one turning up to fight me.
If that's going to be the case then yeah, arena for me. Oh wait, people are trying to **** that over too!

I accept that were not going to agree on this, but the Arena is the cause of this. It is too easily accessible and allows people who do not wish to gamble a way to avoid difficult missions.
Until that is solved one way or another, this problem will never go away.

Also, on the arena thing, it's definitely not cowardice. I just refuse to throw my guys in front of the decepticon free xp machine.
I want to be able to take you guys on fair and square eventually, and the best way i see to do that is to boycott suicide (read: 6 on 0) missions for the time being. They serve nothing except to make the cons stronger and keep us maximals inactive longer.

I call this **** as I see it.Burn wrote:Playing in the arena does NOT make one a coward. Just because it's not what YOU do doesn't make it wrong.
1) Get in the mission and help your team mates to win for the faction
2) Hide in the solo arena where you have less chance of losing and only help yourself.

Ever stop to consider that people might like VARIETY in their game?
Ever stop to consider that people might be in a rush to deploy their bots and the arena is faster than reloading the mission page to generate a new mission?
I sneak on during my lunch hour. I want to get on and off as quickly as possible because things are monitored. I've tried missions, i've tried arena. Arena is most certaintly quicker as I don't need to keep refreshing to generate new missions for my bots to enter.
I like variety in the game. Sure, missions tend to offer up more xp, but sometimes I like a nice one on one fight.
Does that make me a coward? Or does it make me someone who plays the game any which way he likes?
And i'm sure i'm not the only one who plays like this.
But whatever. Sit there and belittle others for playing differently to you. Just remember what YOU called me last week because quite frankly, you're no better Psychout.
