Can we all agree that we're collectively relieved that I got a set?

That's what I like about all of this in particular.

To further emphasize Getter's discussion on the sale of 6 similar seekers, Skywarp came in a two pack with UM. I dont recall ever seeing him sold seperately. Perhaps HASBRO wasn't sure a repaint would sell, seeing as we see alot of "Repaint Hate" on the forums anyway.

Tell us Mr. Punch, how would you be reacting if you did not get a set? :) Would you be hoping for a Takara release? Do you always require a repaint of a Starscream mold into Thundercracker and Skywarp to feel complete?

Nice conjecture!!! Skywarp was part of an exclusive set as well! Thus, not necessarily available to the whole public either. I don't know, did that two pack ever make it to the UK at retail?

Although Getter is right, one wonders where the lovers for the other two are when Cybertron, Titanium, Energon, and the movie are brought into the mix...I cannot deny that it is a good question, even if I know the answer is..."They are not meant to be the G1 representations of the characters! I do not need them to have my CLASSIC G1 collection to feel complete, like I do these because these are CLASSICs!"

Purely conjecture on my part as to how the other side may feel.

Yes. It was available at Woolworths in the UK for £15, and was fairly common.

Well, I know plenty of people who want a Movie Skywarp but figured that the mostly black Deep Space Starscream would work. Now it's not anywhere near as dark as it was originally shown. More glossy but that doesn't matter as it has yet to EVER show up in a store in the Philadelphia area.

Me? I'm just happy using the Legends Stealth Starscream for now. I really don't feel like repaint another Seeker but plenty of people have to various results.

I was actually figuring at one point that this years Botcon set would feature either Movie or Titanium Skywarp. I'm both relieved and disappointed tihs year. I was hoping for at least one goatee on the Mirror/mirroR bots.

Oh, and one more thing. Would any body care if a Henkei Cracker or Conehead were superior to the Botcon version in terms of paint detailing and chrome? The Botcon set would still be unique and distinctly Botcon but all us complainers would be happy, too. I know CP would order it again, no problem. Well, with a little grumbling.

Anyone else?

Hasbro chose to only do 3 of the 6. Why they chose to go the way they did still doesn't make sense to me. They released 3 planes, 80% of the body's are the same between Ramjet and Starscream. Why release a remold when you could release a repaint, especially a highly desired one?

Plus, as a collector, I think the box set would have looked much nicer if Ramjet were in it to go with the rest of the coneheads.

So I don't blame Hasbro for not releasing all the seekers. I don't blame Fun Pub for releasing the rest as exclusives. I blame whoever it was that decided it would be a good idea to release Ramjet to retail rather than Thundercracker.

1) No there wouldnt be this much trouble if ThunderCracker were released instead of Ramjet, as its already been stated the conehead arnt loved as much as the none coneheads!

2) because Hasbro know how to play us off against one another

3) agreed!

4) wasnt that some jumped up git who works at/for Hasbro so there for Hasbro's fault for actually listening to him/her!

Thanks for the support and I know I made my previous post whimsical, but it was serious.

Alot of people think that the seekers should have been released identical to the Botcon set as the seekers, but no one takes into account that Hasbro had reasons not to and could have done it differently, like making THundercracker a repaint of JetFire or even Powerglide. Plus people are also ignoring the exclusive part. I would not have, I REPEAT WOULD NOT HAVE been mad if they never released the recolored seekers, but I would have been and if I paid $270 for a set of exclusives (even if they were crap) and they were shortly released to retail. So I really don't see a solution to this situation. TO be honest I am just happy to see NEW CLASSIC MOLDS and not repaints.

Amen Getterdragun I'm just happy they are releasing new classics, and on that note I wish hasbro had done new head sculpt for the cybertron reissues it would have been a nice addition because I could see blaster having a simular alt mode to soundwave.

Do you know what's important to me, TF purchase related?

The Linkage Mini-Cons.

The WHAT? They're a set of Mini-Cons exclusive to Japanese Armada DVDs. If I had known better, I could have gotten them dirt cheap back in the day. I didn't know better. Now I have to pay far, far out the ass to get them.

It's aggrevating.

These guys are more important to the TF Armada Trilogy Mythos than Thundercracker was to G1 by far. If I can't get them...so be it. But I don't complain or condemn anyone because of their highly exclusive nature. I wait and I save until I can manage to get the toys I want. I'm not entitled to anything, not even toys which would "complete a set". If they were rereleased, well, cool. I'd get those instead. However, the reasons why they won't be (like the reasons why Classics seekers won't get re-released) are valid.

So, I wait.

and save...

and hope no one else come to my house to steal my ****. :P

i've never condemmed anyone for owning the botcon set, because quite simply its not their fault. I choose to condem Hasbro for letting something like this happen!

and as for complaining, i like to refer to this:

I’m a little lost, but first, I agree with GD on all of his points, but what I want to say is what’s wrong with releasing them.

If they released the seekers everyone who bought the set would be gypped, all the money spent would be money wasted cause you could get them later. Second, it would mean they lied and would lose the trust of many fans like I myself. Hasbro never again could be trusted, it is Botcon exclusive and should stay just that.

I don’t own the Seekers, I would love to though, but if they were ever released where I could get them it would directly disrespect anyone who bought the sets, if anything they shouldn’t have been Botcon exclusives, but they are and the deal is done.

Or...is it the perfect crime? (Implication of an actual robbery attempt not intended.)

On topic, no, I don't think that the rest of the seekers, not even Thundercracker, should be released in the Henkei series. Would I get upset about it if they were to release him, or even all of them? Not at all, I'd probably even buy them. But, it's my opinion that they should stay Exclusive.

I'm just gonna say, I don't think Takara will do this, but I'd love it if they did.

To the BotCon people who pray it doesn't happen, it's not like your set in it's collectors casing is going to deminish in value. Mainly in these treads I just see those members complaing cause they spent while others hope.

But what ever, only time will tell as to whats gonna happen. Again, I hope it does, but I doubt it will.

I'm glad you see what I'm saying. The problem with releasing them now is that Hasbro would basically be making a statement that potentially any exclusive could see a mass release, and look outside of TFs with that thought in mind. How would the GI Joe and Star Wars collectors feel? Thing of how many exclsive Star Wars items there are and how pissed off a fan base would be if exclusives were only temporary, it would really be a kick in the special spot to know that true collector memorabilia is only that if there isn't the potential for additional profit. Something like that could possibly drive away more fans than everything else. And again I would like to state that peoples perception might be "who cares" because they really want these figures, but would you people out there who don't have the BotCon seekers care about the BotCon Attendees that say bought the set from 2005 and 2006 and Hasbr decided to mass release them. Would you support them by saying that these fans paid for exclusives and got screwed over?

Not exactly the same scenario but similar.

A number of years ago, I can't remember which line it was, Australian collectors were told (by Hasbro AU) that certain figures wouldn't be released in Australia, so a lot of us went out and imported.

A few months later they turned up.

Conversly, CaseFresh (a well respected online AU store) had pre-orders for the final Alternators. For months people kept waiting with assurance from CaseFresh that Hasbro AU had told them they were coming.

Eventually Hasbro AU told CaseFresh they wouldn't be available. This was a good year after they were released in the States leaving with a number of Australian collectors no choice but to look overseas and pay extra for figures they could have gotten cheaper a year earlier.

Now what's this have to do with Henkei seekers? Never take Hasbro for their word.

Admittedly this has little to do with Hasbro as it relates more to TakaraTomy. In fact I believe that with all their mind changing Hasbro WILL stick to their guns and ensure there is no western release for the BotCon seekers.

However I wouldn't be surprised one bit to see TT do it. The agreement as far as I know was between Fun Publications and Hasbro, no TT anywhere.

Of course I also believe that TT will show Hasbro respect and not release them under Henkei or any Japanese line. But I still wouldn't be surprised if they did release them, modified and different in some way to set them apart from the BotCon set.

And for the record, I never got the set, I had my whinge when it first went down, i'm now over it and I only hold animosity towards those who go "HAHAHAHA i'm better than you because I have the BotCon seekers and you don't!" attitude which I don't see on this site.

I thought about this as well. Does anyone know what the agreement is? Doesn't Hasbro own the concept and characters of Transformers? I would think if that was the case, Hasbro could veto the release of a Takara Transformer figure. It's an interesting question.

I thought it was the other way around with TT owning Transformers and Hasbro licensing from them?

Or I could be thinking of the original G1 stuff. The agreement has probably changed over the years.

Wouldn't have mattered as at the time I simply could not afford it.

By the time you factor in shipping and exchange rate I would have been out two weeks pay. And it simply wasn't worth it for three lumps of plastic (didn't care about the Bumblebee or Jetfire repaints)
