The Ideal Classics:

okay so there are issues.. lets see what could have been a great way to do classics..

Voyager Optimus prime:
As far as this guy goes, he's not bad, and though I complain that a proper rendition fo the Original Flat nose truck has yet to be released in the updated type of toys that Energon, and Cybertron lines have been (I exclude Armada due to the severe lack of articulation) Still this Prime has his charm... if I had my way the deluxe wouldn have never been, adn another Voyager Prime would have made it's way on to the scene..in addition to the reimagined version.. the real flaws with Voyager classics primeis the spatula Crotch, and the lack of silver in the legs and grill areas..Granted the arm shielding is a problem, and the apparent lack of the imposing smoke stacks and trailer are also issues..the ideal would have been release 2 Voyagers, both with seperately designed trailers and one original the other the reimagined..

Astrotrain should have been a larger class with classic colors and a better set of knees and waist joints..

Bumblebee is nice the way he was..

Cliffjumper needed a new head..no flame paint schemes..

Megatron, he was a nice and interesting answer to the whole gun problem, but had they gone with the tank design as a voyager:


and then make the other Voyager the Megatron GT design..(Gun turret):



that would have worked out well..

then the Devestator should have been all new sculpts based on the original designs..and be voyager class, and sold seperately.. in a gift pack they'd be expensive.. unless Ultimate Bumblebee isn't considered expensive then at that price he'd be okay..

Grimlock should have been leader class and engineered to look more like his original form..

Swoop should not have been a minicon..he should have had a redesign and leader clas size as well to emphasize the Dinobots stature..

the seekers should have been sold in 3 Packs..the original crew and the cone heads..


Skyfire and not Jetfire, skyfire shoudl have been larger like supreme class or atleast as big as Astrotrain, with the guns on the jet pack fixed so they don't look so off..

but these are ideal wants and not waht we got.. and the fact that this thread goes on for like 9 pages emphasizes that the classics line indeed has its issues as any other line..

still we can look forward to new and better thing sin the years to come,a nd I hope the classic way still survives down the road, with the New aesthetic taking over, in animated and the Movie Bayformers designs, it's kinda scary that I may never see the types of bots I'm used to seeing , and the fact that Classics was done but not doen the exact way I would have liked just makes me glad I have the Masterpiece to look forward to.. only i still wish there was a line that filled that void in the regular toy class like classics should have..but didn't

I think he ment Good Galvatron, not Quick Split Galvatron.

Also, My only problen with AstroTrain is that he has a black finger print on his left calf

I love the idea of placement gun Megatron, but lets kick it up!

Besides Megatron GT............ (Gun turret)........... just sounds cooler then Nerfatron!!

Astrotrain : weak in both alternate modes, the original is better.

Jetfire : the original a much better toy both in look and transformation.

Deluxe Prime : crappiest Prime ever produced.

Bugbite was the biggest waste of an exclusive. Would've rather him as the custom class fig and the Grimlock repaint in the set.

Nobody ever transforms that Swoop toy right.

He actually HAS fists. They're at the end of the wing tips. You're not supposed to use the dino claws for bot mode.

I guess his wing tips are meant to be slashing katar-like weapons.

I've just had a check and he doesn't have any listed at the momment, nor can I see any more on ebay doing a general search. If you do manage to find one bear in mind that the ball joints at shoulder and elbow will need tightening and that the simplifications to the design remove the leg articulation.

I noticed the shoulders right away and was able to easilty fix them on my own...
The neck tabs... meh, they don't bother me.

All in all, doesn't seem like that big of a problem. Wonder why so many people seem to be upset about it?

well I just think if we are gonna get DinobotS then we should get more then just one good figure.. I mean then it's just A Dinobot instead of the group.. so with Grimlock being the only one to get play here in classics, it seems kinda cruel to issue a Minibot in the name of swoop..

I just don't see why it would have been so hard to do a swoop and throw him into the classics line up in place of 3 or 4 different Minicon sets.. why couldn't they just save the minicon sets for the universe/Classics 2.0 line?

I guess Animated is going to have more then one Dinobot in it.. I've only seen 2 Prototypes but I assume they will have more..which bugs me.. so in order for me to get the Dinobots I want to see, i have to buy into the Animated concept..

I don't hate animated, but I don't like feeling focrced as a fan into having to buy into that product line, which is how the whole Swoop thing makes me feel..

They could still do a Swoop proper, though. Remember: the first Classics line had two Bumblebees.

I like the Excellion Repaint into Bumblebee, but one wonders if that was done to give those of the Cybertron toyline a Hot shot, since excellion's mold is kinda perfect for it..???

Actually, I have to be honest about something.

My expenses for the entire Classics line has been -$150.

That's right, in actuality, I made $150 by purchasing the toys or multiple copies of figures. That's not including the accurement in value.

but on to the other thing you said...

YOU GAVE TRANSFORMERS FANS A THREAD SPECIFICALLY IN WHICH TO COMPLAIN ABOUT THINGS!!!

It's a God-given miracle that it is ONLY 10 pages at this point. It's a testament to the fact that Classics is really a good line that we only have 10 pages (hardly all of which is bad at that). More than half the thread is pictures. This is the same fandom that gave someone 9 pages of crap for buying Ultimate Bumblebee for $20.

and this is coming from me, the guy who wrote what might have been the harshest review yet of Classics Prime..
