Yeah, I know, not what I meant though.

I mean the concept of cruelty is a human one, as in we created the word, and the term for such a thing. It's a human one because we can look at something and say "that's cruel", or "That's mean" and feel bad for it, even if we aren't the cause. Animals don't usually have that concept in the wild, though there are exceptions i'm sure, i'm just parroting what ive heard/read in the past, it's not like im a nature expert.

But I'm pretty sure an animal would need to have quite a brain capacity to know that, not only is it being cruel, but it's enjoying being cruel as well. Dolphins are pretty smart creatures though, so I wouldn't put it past them.

I highly doubt a snake gets it's jollies off by eating other animals though, it doesnt do it to be vindictive, it does it to live.

As for why dolphins do what they do? Who knows, dolphins can be evil.

So onward from the whole animals being cruel thing, lets talk about awesome pets.
I used to own a pretty cool cat, no pun intended, and prefer them to dogs quite a bit. They're more relaxed in my experience, unless it's 2am and you're just barely falling asleep

My cat was really fun to have around, very shy around strangers though.
She died a few months back, I wasn't even told when it happened either, it just did and I was told months later. She was staying with a friend in Illinois.
If I ever get another pet I might try getting a dog, maybe having a high energy pet to take for walks would be good for me.

I mean that to an animal, they arent being cruel.
Examples like the dolphin are exceptions, not the rule.
The point is the snake isn't being cruel, it's being a snake.
It's only cruel in the eyes of the person who sees it as cruel. Get what i'm saying now? A person who feeds their snakes regularly wont think of them as cruel, it's just a part of them being alive.

You understand you're relating this to an animal that doesn't know any better, and the person who decided to keep it right?

Are you trying to say everyone who owns a snake is crazy?

That's what the sausages are for

anyways, this is why I prefer cats or dogs, kibble isn't alive...at least I hope it's not

Yes, we can. Well I can't agree that they're creepy, I think they're cute, but whatever  I DO however find spiders creepy, so there's some common ground I guess.

Spiders are terrifying. If they are any bigger than a centimeter, I shake in my proverbial boots.

Here's a small list of a few fears of mine:

-spiders
-me being in small spaces (I am the tallest in my family okay? I am 6 foot 1.)
-ladders
-stewed tomatoes (they make me vomit.)
-any food from an animal that is abnormal (liver, tongue, heart, hooves, anything weird.)
-people staring at me
-the sight of blood
-long drops (such as cliffs)
-any kinds of rides at carnivals or amusement parks (I get motion sick extremely easily.)

...and those are just a few. I only get afraid of snakes though if I am not sure whether or not one is venomous.

Me fear of spiders is the apposite  the smaller the creepier. The bigger they are, the easier they are to catch and toss outside. There's a really pretty zipper spider on our trash barrel beside the house right now :D

No, because I'm not creeped out by snakes. They aren't creepy in the slightest sense of the word to me.

Crickets. Crickets are **** creepy.

And to those who say snakes are associated with the devil; certainly, if one is religious, you cannot forget the fact that God would have created snakes in the first place, and so should not condemn a creature of His making simply because of a supposed connection to Satan. It would not have been allowed to remain in the Garden of Eden if it really was associated with the devil.

On a more scientific hand, do snakes actually eat their prey alive? Don't they usually kill it first, then eat it? Come on now.

I'm religious, and I think that notion is stupid. Since Lucifer was described as one of the angels, it is likely that he merely took the form of a serpent.

Well, unlike Satan, snakes never led a rebellion against God and tainted a perfect world with sin, so I would say that's an unfair comparison.

Even though god is supposed to be omnipotent, seeing everything that has happened, is happening, and will happen in the future, as a perfect being and creator of all things would. He created satan, knowing what he'd do, and went with it anyway.

Fun fact: Satan isn't even in the original translation of the bible, and neither is hell; this is stuff that got added in by catholic roam when they translated it into Latin.

So, the snake in other words, was just a snake...a talking snake.

Snakes can talk.

It would not have been allowed to remain in the Garden of Eden if it really was associated with the devil.

So...we shouldn't condemn Satan, either? Because God made him, too.
Well, unlike Satan, snakes never led a rebellion against God and tainted a perfect world with sin, so I would say that's an unfair comparison.

And then there's me in the atheist corner, who just thinks snakes are cool and likes them.
