Cowboys went 2-2, losing both road games to Houston and Minnesota. I don't remember much of the Houston game, but I watched most of the Minnesota game last night. The second-stringers played most of the game, and they looked pretty solid except for a few fumbles that turned into scoring drives for the Vikings. Rookie mistakes. IMO, I think we might do good this year. Wild Card, for sure, possibly even top spot in the NFC East.

Like I've said, pre-season games don't mean jack once the regular season starts. Teams have gone 4-0 in the pre-season just to tank come reg. season.

Yeah baby!! Strahan is coming back to the Giants. What a huge blow it would have been without him this season. I just wonder what kind of shape is he in. I mean how convenient that he announces his return after the end of preseason basically. I am glad for his return and at the same time worried about his game shape and his commitment to his team. Is this going to be another year like last with Tiki?

more importantly...is this gonna be another year like last year with Eli? That's infinitely more important at this point I think...

I feel sorry for the kid. He has his older brother's shoes to fill. At least he won't have the record his DAD does: the worst winning pct. as a starting QB in NFL history. Can someone tell me at what point the media started portraying Father Manning as a great QB? Dude sucks more than a $5 hooker...

Picks for the NFC North for 2007:

1. Chicago Bears...still a much too complete team for the rest of the division.
2. Detroit Lions...yes I'm serious; I think they have finally turned the corner and present a serious offensive threat with moderate defense
3. Green Bay Packers...and this is ONLY if Donald Driver's injury isn't serious. The D still has huge holes and Favre has ZERO running to back him.
4. Minnesota Vikings...sorry Vike fans, but there is just too much youth on the team; chalk this one up to a rebuilding year.
It finally happened. The Chicago Cubs won the World Series. Yes, I cried.

AFC WEST:

1. Denver Broncos: What? Be realistic you say? Well of course I am being realistic! With the best secondary in the game, and a sophomore quarterback that can go from one end zone to the next, the Broncos are going to win this division

2. San Diego Chargers: Can you say.. Falter? You might have the MVP, but Norv Turner and the rest of the new coaching staff might just make these good players turn bad.

3. Kansas City Chiefs: No Green. No Playoffs. Sorry Chiefs fans.

4. Oakland Raiders: There was some hope when they drafted Russell. Now for some reason, they can't even sign Russell and all they have left at QB is gimp-Culpepper, and two QB's who played last season, and contributed to the 2-14 season.

I thought the pre season was a buffer to get rid of the bad players on the team?

If it is then why the hell did the Browns get rid of Ken Dorsey?

Throughout the pre season he played better and more consistency then Charlie Frye and Frye is the freaking starter!

I am not thrilled with my beloved Brownies at the moment...

The Jags cut Byron Leftwich go.

Can't say I'm really surprised, he's injury prone and Garrard always seems to one up him.

Actually, unless he was cut they do have Josh McKown backing up Dante, you know traded from the Lions with lazy @$$ Mike Williams, for what, I'm not sure...

Sure he never played with Lions, but the previous season he did prove capable as a backup, which is why the D-town paid him so much... to sit the bench.

I am going to have to disagree on this one.

Now I know preseason doesnt mean squat but look at S.D. in the preseason 3-1 and even when the starters played L.T. didnt even suit up.

Granted we have a fairly new coaching staff but some of them are pretty proven guys that have been around the league in one form or another.

Denvers good but if I remember right from last year QB was kind of spotty at times and they need that consistency.

But as they say "Any Given Sunday...". So we'll see come late December who holds the edge.

Believe it or not I have to agree on the rankings. Denver's main problem area will be the defensive line; the loss of E. Ecubine is SERIOUSLY going to hurt them, but it sounds like they will be adding Simeon Rice. As for the Chargers, yes their running game is top notch (hell they have TWO number 1 running backs- Michael Turner could START for any other team in the league), but Norv Turner has a history of screwing up NFL teams. KC is toast with only LJ and Tony Gonzalez as weapons and zero Defense. Raider Fan will once again be crying and making his mascara run all over...unless the Defense (which ranked 5th in the NFL last year) starts scoring points a la the Chicago Bears,
It finally happened. The Chicago Cubs won the World Series. Yes, I cried.

Predictions for the AFC East:

1. New ENgland Patriots: Well, DUH! The most balanced team in the league. However, the rising star-power in the great Northeast could inflate their egos enough to bring them crashing down in the playoffs.
2. Buffalo Bills: A steadier running game should help the Bills offense considerably, giving hopes to a Wild Card birth in this lakeshore city.
3. New York Jets: Running game is erratic and questionable; can a shoddy O-line keep their QB healthy?
4. Miami Dolphins: Still trying to recover from the mess that Dave Wannstedt created. A great defense can't win games if the offense can't score points: watch Miami set a record this year for fewest points scored offensively in the 16 game season. Trent Green's concussion must have affected his brain to have him sign with the Fins.
It finally happened. The Chicago Cubs won the World Series. Yes, I cried.

Predictions for AFC North:

1. Pittsburgh Steelers: Steeltown will take another division title in the NL Central of the 2007 NFL season. The deciding factor: Pittsburgh's defense which just seems to reload every year.
2. Cincinatti Bengals: The loss of Chris Henry will affect this team, but not enough to keep them out of shouting distance. The defense is opportunistic but gives up the big play often as they gamble on the turnover. Scoring 35 a game is great unless you're giving up 36 a game.
3. Baltimore Ravens: THe offensive woes continue for the Ravens despite some key offensive additions; the QB rotating door will begin early in the season. Defense is not a problem here.
4. Cleveland Browns: They will give Miami a run for their money in the Draft Bowl. however, expect a breakout year from Kellen Winslow, who is finally starting to show some flashes of greatness. Defense makes swiss cheese look solid.
It finally happened. The Chicago Cubs won the World Series. Yes, I cried.

Let it begin. Tonight the Colts vs the Saints.

Go Colts!!!

Two reason for that. One. Tony Dungy. Two. The Saints losing can only help the Bucs (and they need all the help they can get). :)

FINALLY! It's showtime! But I have to admit, I HATE this "teaser" game...I'd rather be thrust kicking and screaming into a full lineup on Sunday than have one game then have to wait three days for more.

No kidding. I'll have to wait until 4pm before seeing the Bucs game. I hate 4 o'clock games especially for the season opener.

Well then, one game in the books. I am concerned about New Orleans. Drew Brees made a couple very bad reads that were picked off. They could not run the football. I can understand not being able to stop the Colt offense. The Saints better get that running game together fast or they aren't going anywhere.

As for the Colts...so much for defensive personnel turnover, huh? That defense looks very good. 41 points on a night they celebrate winning Super Bowl 41...wow. They look really good.
