I can't remember which receiver it was, definitely not Randy Moss though, but he caught the ball out of bounds. There was no denying that, yet somehow it got ruled as a touchdown. Sportscenter and everyone on ESPN and everyone I know talked about it for awhile. It was rediculous. The only people that defended the call were Patriots fans. It was like they were trying to force the Patriots to have a perfect season.

Think about it, what better way to have the bad Manning brother "rise to the level of his brother" then by beating a previously undefeated team? It's not as scripted as the NBA...

The other half the time they're making wrong calls or calls that don't need to be made. People in Seattle are still pissed about the calls in Superbowl XL against the Steelers.

but it gets thrown out by ludite fans who think it'll somehow 'remove the soul out of the game' by asuring goals that dont count arnt counted/goals that do count do count....

Hey, if they want to do an underdog story have the Browns go to the Super Bowl. I love my Browns and everything, but they need help big time.

At least they did better than Detroit. Good lord

Not that you would know this as a glory-hunting Man United fan, but actually going to the ground watch the football is expensive enough as it is, the last thing we need is to have to pay even more to fund extra camera's to stop the game every 5 minutes to work out whether Ronaldo's latest swan dive is Oscar- or red-card-winning material.
Leave the Ref and Linesmem to do their job's, part of the magic of football is that it's supposed to be the same rules at every level - the 3rd eye will price lover league teams out of the game.
Im not for stopping the play everytime a desicion needs making like in rugby
I read it, but understand that as soon as the camera's become a part of standard match play they will be used for everything.Fearless Echoes wrote:Psychout wrote:Fearless Echoes wrote:but it gets thrown out by ludite fans who think it'll somehow 'remove the soul out of the game' by asuring goals that dont count arnt counted/goals that do count do count....

You clearly didnt read my post. I want things like goal line cameras and the like, i dont want to use technology for decissions that will take 5 minutes and three men to decide upon.
Premiership & championship maybe, but if the game is to stay the same at all levels, how will teams outside of the 2nd division afford them without putting the already exorbitant ticket prices up?As for price, the Premier League is a multimillion pound industry, I refuse to belelive they couldnt aford it, hell, most premiership grounds already have cameras on the line for the tv companies. If Rugby (which has much smaller crowds and following) can aford it, then football can, especilly as it wont be as heavily used.
Im a Norwich Cityfan, the big TV money means nothing to us, we'll never see any of it.Fearless Echoes wrote:It's strange how fans bitch about the tv, but love the players the tv money brings

Did the foul happen inside the box? Check the camera.
Was the player offside then the ball was kicked? Check the camera.
Is that a player swearing?! Check the camera.
Is Ronaldo ever actually fouled? Check the camera...

Yeah, it was incorporated for that reason during last season.

Of course we all know that was just Alpha Strike trying to cover his own arse.

I don't follow hockey extremely closely, how surprising is it that they're the best team in the league?
Raphael Prime wrote:I wouldn't say too surprising. In my opinion, they have one of the best goalies in the league, so that's one reason it's expect. Then with players like Thorton and all, it's expected. But i don't think any thought they would be doing this good, number 1, yes, but not this big a lead on the Western Conference.

Meh...they'll choke in the conference finals. The Habs are destined to win this year.
