It's 宇宙戦隊キュウレンジャー (uchū sentai kyuurenjā) or "Space Squadron Kyuuranger". If it really is a Space-themed series, it would be the very first as other series had only hints of the theme (Megaranger was more videogame- and gadget-based).

Oh man, I would be so down for another space-themed PR adaptation, especially if Judd Lynn is still involved with the show by then.

Though, what would the "Kyuu" part of "Kyuuranger" pertain to?

So, what, does this mean they're already moving on from power rangers minecraft edition? I too wouldn't mind another space-themed line, 'In Space' was the show I grew up with, and 'Lost Galaxy' is probably my favorite Power Rangers show. Be interested in seeing where they go with this.

Kyuuranger will start in February like always. We usually get the trademark filing in fall, and details about theme, cast, suits, etc start to leak out in the coming months until the big reveal in late fall or winter, after the current show's final wave of toys have settled in.

I wonder if this will become a trend from now on with PR skipping every other new Sentai to both make up for their having to run each theme for two years now instead of one and to try to keep up with the Sentai.

Although, isn't Zyuohger another anniversary Sentai? I mean, it is the 40th series. If it has any anniversary-based footage, Saban might be interested in using that footage for their 25th PR series (as Ninja Steel will be the 24th one).

They have an in-series teamup with the Gokaigers, AKA Super Megaforce rangers. I don't recall anything else particularly anniversary-esque about it, but I'm also super behind.

I watched Ninja Storm when Nick got the rights to broadcast and I thought that was good. From what I've seen so far I think Disney chose to make a fairly close adaptation of the series with some tweaks of their own (Oboro to Cam, making Cam the Green Samurai Ranger). I like the Ninja Storm theme better and I think Disney nailed "locked and dropped" but I have a feeling I'm going to like Hurricanger more overall when I'm through. I'll let you know.

I really didn't like Ninja Storm all that much the first time I saw it as an early back when it first aired on TV in 2003. But after getting the DVD sets and giving it a second chance full viewing, and having experienced the drek that was Samurai and Megaforce (which were the new shows airing at the time I watched the DVDs), I came to enjoy Ninja Storm better as an adult than I did the first time around as an early teen.

But I still feel that Lothor is one of the lamest main villains the PR series has ever had, whose only saving grace is that he is one darn impressively good fighter and martial artist. His actual fight scenes (meaning those where he actually used fighting moves instead of just shooting CGI energy blasts) were excellently choreographed and were his best and only really good moments of screentime. The rest of his more comical portrayal was just lousy, almost as bad as Divatox's screentime in Turbo and In Space.

Tis why Dino Charge and Dino Super Charge have both been stark improvements over the previous installments of the Neo Saban Era.

Even so I can't watch Dino Charge. Kyoryuger may forever be my favorite Super Sentai, and the Neo Saban adaptation just doesn't work for me.

I'm glad I don't remember too much about Ninja Storm since it did run a parallel story. I have no memory of what is going to be born. The music for Hurricanger is growing on me, but I liked the CG hamster in Ninja Storm better than the puppet/live hamster Toei used. You'd think they would have thought to use CG after what they accomplished with Gaoranger. Although it is funny to see the Hurricangers defeated by a puppet hamster.

Previously, I'd been using this thread to discuss the new upcoming Power Rangers movie, but that was mostly because I'd since forgotten that I had created a thread just for that movie quite a while back. As that thread has recently been revived, I'll continue to contribute to discussions pertaining to the new movie in that thread rather than in this one.

To bring some attention to it, we now have our first look at some of the toys for this movie's toyline, which in turn give us our first clear look at the new designs for the Tyrannosaurus Zord, the Red Ranger's sword weapon, as the new Morpher. In more directly toku-related news, Kamen Rider Ex-Aid has started and so far I like it better than the rather lackluster Ghost. It seems like a fun show with potential for depth, and I look forward to watching it for the next year.

My thoughts exactly! Then again, the Metallic Armor was probably the biggest "To Sell Toys" feature of the show, next to the Battlizers and Cockpit Modes.

In other Power Ranger news, the next Ninja Steel Megazord has been revealed: the Rumble Tusk Megazord... which is just a redeco of the original Ninja Steel with Paonmaru instead of Shinobimaru. And good news: the Drago mode can be formed. The bad news: no blue Nin Shuriken or separating wings.

In the defense of Battlizers, Mega Battles, and the like, most of those have actually been cool (even in a goofy way, sometimes). There are very few Battlizers that I view in a negative light (lookin' at you, Shogun Mode).

I actually quite like Shogun Mode, aesthetically. My least favorite battlizer is probably SPD's Battle thong, at least in its first stage. Somehow its use in Magiranger vs Dekaranger came across more elegantly, though.

Shogun Mode actually was pretty damn awesome looking, functionality though was a bit underwhelming. I'm glad to know I wasn't the only one who loved SPD's battlelizer, because that final mode with the jetpack and stuff was badass!

You seem to have misunderstood what I said. I said that was my LEAST favorite.

I think my three favorite Battlizers/Mega Battles/etc., in terms of both function and aesthetics put together, have so far been (in chronological order) the Battle Warrior Armor (Time Force), the Tri-Battlized Armor (Ninja Storm), and the Red Dragon Fire Ranger (Mystic Force).
