I didn't see the worm go underground and oh! I'm sorry! Is this more Uwe Bay storytelling elements that force the viewer to make up their own reasoning for things? AH! Got ya!

You see the thing go underground. It just makes me think you weren't paying attention.

Exactly.
Its very hard to swallow any negative points/aurguments about the movie when simple things like this are not only over looked, but an attempt to bash the movie/bay.

This is a serious question.

I'm so sorry some of us actually expect decent writing when we watch movies.

I'm getting tired of waiting. Some one, hurry up and accuse this movie of being racist! I know it's coming.

Then Megatron would still be dead, the Decepticon protoforms wouldn't exist, therefore the army wouldn't be nearly as vast as it was, The Matrix would have just seemed like a tagged on 5 second mystery never explained, and all the references they made to ROTF would make no sense.
Cthulhunicron wrote:Re-read my posts. These movies are not well written.
To sum up, here are my main complaints about the story:
1) 17000 BC, the Fallen builds a harvester on Earth. Primes steal back the matrix, and sacrifice their lives to entomb the Matrix underground. The next time we see the Fallen, he's crash landed on Saturn in 2009. The movie is extremely vague about what happens in between these two points in time.
2) Jetfire says that Energon is the life blood of Cybertronians; without it, they rust and fall apart. Starscream says that the hatchlings need Energon to survive. These are the only two points in the movies where Transfomers are shown suffering from Energon depletion. DOTM introduces the idea of Energon detectors, suggesting that all living Transformers have Energon in their bodies (makes sense, since it is their "life blood.") So if the Allspark has been destroyed, where are they getting their Energon? Not only that, when Cybertron lost the Allspark in the first place, how did the Transformers continue to function with no Energon source for thousands of years? If the Decepticons have no Energon supply, why create a nest of hatchlings if they know they have no means of sustaining them? Wouldn't it make more sense to secure control over the Allspark, Matrix, and Harvester...and THEN create the hatchlings?
DOTM then says that Earth's natural resources will be enough to rebuild Cybertron and their race. If they can subsist on other forms of energy, then it eliminates the need for an Allspark or the solar harvesters.
3) Sentinel Prime's plan seems awfully vague. He made a deal to work with Megatron so long that Cybertron will be saved. Makes sense so far. Based on what the movies tell us, we know that Megatron left first, and then Sentinel, because we know that the Allspark crashed on Earth at some point in the past, Megatron crashed sometime before the 20th century, and then Sentinel crashed on the moon in the early '60s. These Transformers don't seem to have very good landing skills. I mean, Megatron approaches Earth and crashes...Sentinel approaches the moon and crashes...the Fallen flies to Saturn's moon and...you guessed it, crashes.
The movies never make it really clear exactly what their plan was. DOTM almost makes it seem as though the plan all along was to meet up on Earth, use a space bridge to bring Cybertron into our solar system, and use Earth's natural resources for energy and the humans for slaves. But they couldn't have known the Allspark was going to land on Earth, and they couldn't have known that Earth would have lifeforms they could use for slaves. And transporting Cybertron into our solar system doesn't really serve any purpose that I can see. So they just ventured blindly into space with some vague goal of enslaving some planet, and they all just happened to crash land on Earth?
If they did know that the Allspark was on Earth before any of them left, I don't see why Megatron, the Fallen, and Sentinel couldn't have just gone to Earth, used the Cube to find the Matrix, used the Matrix to destroy the sun, and then space bridge the re-energized Cube back to Cybertron.
4) Sentinel Prime arrives on the moon along with 200 Decepticons in the early 1960s, and only Sentinel is knocked into stasis. They remove the pillars and are photograpehd by the Russians. Soundwave and Laserbeak go about recruiting humans to their cause. If they had that big of a force concentrated on the moon, I don't see why they didn't just go in with guns blazing and take over the world right then. Or, if they wanted to bide their time, I don't see why they didn't help out with the battle against the Autobots in Mission City, or in Egypt. Why just chill on the moon until 2011 when Sentinel opened the space bridge?

Yeah, he usually has more blades in his wrist than a swiss army knife, and this time there were extra blades in his jetpack, he had an axe, or he could just burn the wires with his afterburner.
Despite some minor flaws, I pretty much like this movie as much as the first, and I can't believe I say this, but I'd like to see a fourth one (now that there are human allies, bring in the headmasters and a new Decepticon leader! Overlord, Scorponok, it's your turn!)
