I mentioned upgrading the figure so it was more like G1, trailer and robot being separate pieces. I mentioned MP1&MP10 being examples of this, and for the most part G1 animation (ESPECIALLY his sequence in the movie) had them as two entities. They could then make a pretty spectacular transformer, with proper hands and able to hold the full size matrix and everything else we could wantRodimus Prime wrote:Now, will HasTak ever update the Rodimus figure? (I don't count this one because this one is Hot Rod, not Rodimus.)
Rodimus Prime wrote:I was hesitant about this figure at 1st, but I'm getting more and more convinced to get him. He would look good as a display piece among my other Hot Rods. Now, will HasTak ever update the Rodimus figure? (I don't count this one because this one is Hot Rod, not Rodimus.)

Here's the OptimusTimelord remake of the scene with MP-9 (using Photoshop to do the impossible)--
3P figure "DX9 Carry" pulled it off. But not without a big spoiler on its back --

Isn't that what it was called during G1?
Like Peaugh said this is better in hand; but there's the problem, Bumblebee, Ironhide, and now Hot Rod, all look better in hand. Takara needs to look at what they're doing, and make these figures look good period.
Was't aware of that.chuckdawg1999 wrote:Sabrblade wrote:Ah, so, "Cavalier" is how Takara's officially translating Roddy's Japanese rank of 騎士 (Kishi, "Knight").

Shadowman wrote:This is Sabrblade we're talking about. His ability to store trivial information about TV shows is downright superhuman.
Caelus wrote:My wife pointed out something interesting about the prehistoric Predacons. I said that everyone was complaining because transforming for them mostly consisted of them just standing up-right. She essentially said, 'So? That's what our ancestors did.'

Because he was a $10 deluxe![]()
That and the angled hood draws your eyes in such a way as to reduce the effect, I for one, maintain that it is still one of animated hot rods flaws - that, and never seeing it at retail

Agreed, if they had carbon-copied the transformation scheme, he could've been the best mp ever, I'd imagine.
Is that because you really like TFA Rodimus or really dislike MP-28?Ironhidensh wrote:Animated Rodimus is a better masterpiece figure than masterpiece Rodimus is.
