Overall I like it. But what is with TFC and the faces designs. They never come close to the character.

Hi - We wanted to let you know that we have reduced our pricing on the Nemean figure from $139.99 to $129.99. We also wanted to mention that this figure is the largest of the group (similar to the SR-71 in Uranos) so it is priced higher than the rest. We expect the remaing four figures to be cheaper - hopefully in the $99.99 price range.
Thanks

So the limbs of Ares will be the same size as the limbs of Herc and Uranos and the same price then. Which is the same price as the limbs of Feral Rex but quite a bit smaller. Factor in MMC's early bird specials and what was already the better deal is even better againdaimchoc wrote:FYI:Hi - We wanted to let you know that we have reduced our pricing on the Nemean figure from $139.99 to $129.99. After seeing this, I'm liking the bulkier MMC version more TBH, with Leo Dux's legs extended that is.
And after a closer look at this image...

I can't help but agree with a comment someone on another forum made, this just doesn't look like a $100 toy (at the moment at least). Collapse the legs, turn the rhino head and leave the arms hanging at the sides.
I do like the poseable rhino ears though, they look cool!

But I think their rendition of Razorclaw is what doomed Ares from day one:
* Too damn big
* No faceplate
* Stupid Voltron style helmet shaped like a cats head
* Ugly serpent tail
And for the record I love TFC. I got Hercules and am waiting to get one final piece of Uranus. WTF is TFC doing here ???

I agree with everything you said X, but, just so you know, he goes both ways

You can choose which way the rhino head goes in bot mode.

This may just be the deciding factor that loses it for TFC in my opinion. It may seem petty, but I can't afford both sets so I'm looking for any excuse to ditch one for the other.
Game's not over yet though, so get on it TFC.

I agree, the side by side sells MMC to me a lot more.
But, to be fair, the TFC combiner isn't complete.
I still prefer the guns, as well as the chest and waist detailing on TFC.
Plus being able to connect parts to Devy or Superion holds some appeal.
I want to see a true side by side for height.
Comparisons to figs I have, like Herc, would be great.
I just don't trust a photoshop for size comparisons.

I agree that we need to see a complete Ares to get the full effect, but that leg really does ruin it for me.rpetras wrote:Arctorro wrote:

Compatibility with Herc and Uranos was a plus for me at first. Then I remembered how the legs of those two aren't interchangeable unless you swap both due to Uranos's legs being slightly longer.
The photoshop comparison definitely can't be trusted, posted it more for the side by side look at the designs.

Oh, the side-by-side helps, for sure.
I just mean you can't trust the relative heights in a photoshop, that's all.

^ This pretty much sums up my opinion too. If there were no MMC, I would definitely like this over UT. There are a lot of things to like. The animals look a little more animal like. I think the retracting rhino horns are a very nice touch! I like these a lot.
However, I like MMC's even more. Sure, the animal modes are a little less realistic looking for animals. (TFC's rhino head is huge! Definitely more proportionally accurate to a real rhino, IMO.) But, MMC's feel like bad-@$$ bots that took their cues from animals, but are just bad-@$$. This was how I viewed the original G1 preds. They weren't trying to hide (RiD and all) as the individual bots. Instead, I always had the feeling that the Predacons wanted to instill fear into other bots, and used cues from what they thought were bad-@$$ animals. They just looked mean.
I like TFC's Ares a lot. I am in love with MMX's Feral Rex.
