I'm in that group (or should I say "those groups"). Talk about people who look down upon people that don't agree with their opinions... Some of those guys thought X-Men 3 was the best out of the 3 movies despite all the plot holes throughout... Geesh!
So, here's my final verdict: TF Animated combines many elements of all the past different series. That, I admit, I like. The execution was not at the level that I expected to see. Story may have promise but the cheesy dialog, human character portrayal, and animation kill it. If the story is good (or excellent) then the visuals should match.
I look at it like this. Remember when we were first fed the trailer for "Ultimate Avengers: The Movie" DVD? That trailer kicked @$$! Then when you rented (or bought, in my case) the DVD the animation was totally different from what was advertised. Not to mention, the movie sucked as did the sequel (especially the sequel).
I feel like I've been duped with this new show! Yes, the original was a little cheesy when you look back on it but not to the degree of cheese that's laid out in TF Animated... It's multiplied by 10... I can't accept that. I would've rather enjoyed an animated version of the movie characters than be lulled to sleep by the crap that's being shown now.

I only watched the first 6 parts (on youtube) thinking that was it, 6 parts of ten minuets each, 60 minuets, with advert breaks that adds up to an hour & a half. Didn't realise it was 90mins without adds.
So yea, I found parts 7, 8, and 9, realised my stupid mistake, and came back here to correct my post, only to find you'd told me about the last 3 parts anyway XD
Thanks & Sorry.
No need to be sorry and your welcome.

I see where it could grow on me after a few more epps, much like Teen Titans did.
I liked the characterization for everyone, especially the decepticons. Can't wait to see more (much more) of Megatron. He kicked @$$. This is how he should have been in the movie.
Overall I give it a thumbs up, and I can't wait for the next one.

Are you comfortable using torrents?
If so, you need to register at http://www.bitt.tv before the 1st of January (they go invite only then) and you can torrent a complete, approximately 700mb file.
There's also another torrent out there with the episode broken in to 9 or 10 chunks of about 10 minutes, bvut that's just stupid.

SS and Megs voices are fantastic.
I can deal with the funky looking faces on Bots, but the wierd anime style humans are a huge turnoff for me.
Overall, much better than I thought, though I thought the episode dragged a bit and I started to get a little bored half way through.
Looks like a fun show to kill time with when bored and I can see how kids would love it.
3 out of 5 stars for me.

This series has the potential to be WAAAY better than the past 3, which have quite frankly been awful.

Edit: Two more things. One, I kind of wish Starscream had had the brains to try to pull off "Hey, I'm an Autobot too!" trick, turn people against the Autobots, but that would have probably screwed the whole thing up. Two, since all the tech is based off of Megatron, wouldn't it be feasible for him to take control of it? At least if Sumdac used code from him, anyways.

Awhile back, when CN was showing the preview clip from episode 1, I stated on Unicron.com that SS sounded an awful lot like Snively from Sonic SatAM. After watching the episode, he's a little of Snively and a lot of his G1 namesake.

As I understand it, Megatron is subliminally having Sumdac rebuild him. I'm assuming that Sumdac would subconsciously hope Megatron is an Autobot during said process.

One of the biggest successes of this style which could not be accomplished with the realist techniques of G1 is making vehicle modes emotive. I'm impressed with how the animators use reflections of light off the windshields to mimic expressions on human faces!

Menbailee wrote:It's weird that people keep calling the art style anime. Although it certainly shows some anime influences, the art style of Teen Titans or TF:A looks very distinct to me from any anime. I do believe we're looking at a homegrown style which has taken cues from several different sources to break out of the realist style initiated by Disney's Snow White decades ago. Whether you like that style or not is a different question, but my point is, we are not just watching animation following suit after Japanese cartoons; we're watching something that has blended styles in its own original way.

It's quite frankly insulting to someone who is actually an Animé fan, that this junky drawing style would be used as a comparison... guh.

Honestly, the only thing I think is more appealing to children are the fact that shows with this style of animation are forced on children & put in prime time slots. They really just watch because it's transformers, & it's the only choice they're getting for giant transforming robot-on-robot (on giant cockroach) action.Defcon! wrote:The animation style is just like batman and the other so named animated series. They may differ a little with a few tweaks here and there but the style is the same. Less detailed and cost effective but more appealing for children.

Don't forget robot-on-robot-on-giant roach-on-archery man-on-melting man-on-speedy skating dude-on-big head guy action
