T-Macksimus wrote:WHOA WHOA WHOA...HO-LEE_CRAP!! Back the heck off for just one damn minute! If that's how you are going to take such a broad generalization, if you are going to treat that one statement like I have attacked YOU personally, If you think I was attacking ANYONE here, you are way mistaken. You have obviously missed a lot of the posts that I have done in the last two days, you have missed or completely failed to understand the "Whys" of several of my posts and you are someone who is going to do more damage here than good. I won't even bother explaining my last post or the spirit in which it was intended (which you OBVIOUSLY didn't get) and after your reaction I am even less inclined now to make any kind of apology for it.
If anything, you just served to enforce/support my anecdotal retort rather than to embrace it good-naturedly and rise to the next level and engage in a decent dialogue, for which I would have been more than happy to partake. You have not done your fellow posters who share your same ideals any favors either for which I now have to feel sorry on their behalf even though my views differ from theirs.
Would you care to step back and try this again from a different approach because I am not going to be such a close-minded fool as to simply walk away from a second chance, whether it be on the giving or recieveing end.
Sabrblade wrote:The movie characters are not the G1 characters. The Soundwave we saw in this film has NEVER been a tape deck. This is his very first trip to Earth EVER.
The movies all take place in a completely different universe from G1 and all other TF series. In fact, not just a different universe, but a different universe cluster: The Tyran cluster.
G1 and the Beast Era are in the Primax cluster, the Unicron Trilogy is in the Aurex cluster, and Animated is in the Malgus cluster. The rest are currently unnamed.

and more than dissapointed in alot of the folks on here.

I did not say anything about wanting him to be a boom box.
The decision to make him a satellite made him more plausible. It's the voice I didn't care for.
Again, it's not about him being a boom box. It's Bay giving the deserved nod to Soundwave from G1 by using the vocoder for his voice. We had Prime's voice didn't we? Soundwave is nearly as iconic to Transformers as he is. He's been represented in pop culture with that voice deserved to be used.
That was aimed at Ravage XK and anyone else who would think that the movie charatcers are the same as the G1 characters.Rock Sexton wrote:Sabrblade wrote:The movie characters are not the G1 characters. No such thing. They all take place in the same multiverse, but that's hardly an argument due to it being so gigantic and spread apart.Robinson wrote:They all take place in the hasbro cluster.

Bay's thrown the fans many bones and homages to the different aspects of the fandom but all alot of ppl want to do is whine about how they didnt appeal to you personally and bay is an egomaniac for it.

No Death for Prowl wrote:Something to ponder: if Welker was not used for Soundwave, but a vocoder was used with somebody else's voice, would people still find this reason enough to complain of a lack of G1 authenticity?

Welker sounds the same as his Dr. Claw and G1 Megatron voices. And the Dr. Claw voice is ROTF Soundwave's voice (and G1 Soundwave, but without the vocoder).Magnus_Rex wrote:I haven't read the rest of the posts, so I don't know if this has been mentioned already. Optimus Prime's voice doesn't sound exactly the same. You have to remember that Frank Welker is 25 years older than he was in 1984. He's 63 years old. Do you really expect him to sound the way he did when he was a young 38 years old?
