Strange I saw metroplex in stores. And some members have already said it's going to be their kids Christmas present. Tell you what I'll be sure to act Suprised when I see devy on store shelves in tru.

Sure, if you've got around US$500 to burn.
As for the new Devi I'm really loving it! People say they're simplified, but I'm seeing a lot of moving parts, I'm not sure just how simplified they really are. What's really intriguing me is what's in between the tracks on Scavenger and Bonecrusher. They don't look to be part of those two, I think they're part of Longhaul and the arms connect by fitting the tracks around them. That would mean Hook isn't necessary for combining, he could be swapped out with, you know, Prowl without effecting the transformation. Both legs connect with the same joint so replacing Scrapper with Hook could be possible. If you look under Hook's crane you'll see a big square gap (where his head would be on the G1 figure) that looks roughly the same size and shape as the gaps where Longhaul plugs into Scrapper and Mixmaster.
Wishful thinking lives on.
Is it just me or does that look like purple chrome similar to Jetfire's red chrome? Not sure how I feel about that.

I still say Botcon needs to do a Metrotitan retool. Even at $500, I bet the sucker would sell out.
And I think it's a safe bet that Botcon will have at least one combiner retool as soon as the molds are available. A five pack exclusive team that turns into a gestalt? How could they not?

So true. Cheap parents were the real reason the mini-bots were "mini". No parent is going to spend $150 on a toy except for a birthday or Christmas.

I wouldn't quite go that far in specific regards to the Mini-Bots. Those toys were mini because Japan likes cute tiny things, as they were when they were part of the Micro Change line.Rated X wrote:peaces wrote:but people will tell you titan devy was made for kids even though a kid will never see this $150 toy in stores.

But I do see your point about the $150 price for Devastator. This'll likely be the big 2015 Holiday item for Transformers.

Is this devastator set exclusive to toysrus? Or is it mass retail?

We don't know yet. I'm kinda hoping at least shared exclusive with BBTS or the likes.Deathsaurus1 wrote:I fear that I will never see this in retail, just like I never saw metroplex.

I suspect that is just because, if posed more naturally, the crane arm would stick back too far to fit within the space provided for the figure. Not every Devastator-based toy's crane arm can bend down like this:

I look forward to seeing more of Hasbro's figure... How it looks properly posed, and how it looks in both modes other broken into his component parts.

Thats on my mind now. When it gets "officially" revealed, will we see anything new ? Or will it be the same fat guy in the suit putting the same prototype in the same goofy pose ? Remember we were never supposed to see these pics. If its the only prototype hasbro has on hand, then that means we wont be seeing any individual robot or alt modes in two weeks. Im also wondering how simplified will they be ? Beast hunter abominus simplified ? One step changer simplified ? Will they have no elbow articulation ? No knee articulation ? Any time the term "simplified" is used, I become very weary.
I think "simplified" isn't the best term for it, considering what's been said on TFW and other sites. More like "streamlined". Think Thrilling 30 Scoop and the other Combiner Wars figures. Simple, straightforward transformations, with sturdy, kibble-free, and VERY G1 robot and vehicle modes.

Well thats what I took simplified to mean and didnt feel it was negative (we could also say effecive of efficient). Dragstrip really took away any bad connotation "simplified" may have had in the AOE line.

Most fans realize Transformers scale was messed up from the start. In the toys, cartoons and the comics. So overly insisting there is a uniformed scale bible that HasTak follows is untrue.
Wanting a KO company to create a smaller Titan Devastator toy. Is bound be all negatives and a Disastrous attempt. Points to those low quality KO TFC and FP combiners.
There is nothing wrong with owning stand alone Transformers toys. Adult collectible toys are known for this.
Think 3rd parties will create kits to fix titan Devastator.
$150 was the original Hasbro American listed price for Titan Metroplex but BBTS and others sold it for $109. Think a similar thing will happen for Titan Devastator.
Comparing a Hasbro toy to a 3rd party toy is like comparing a Lamborgini to a Honda.
Hasbro Titan Devastator Is the better deal than those exspensive 3rd party combiners. TFC Hercules cost over $600. For $600, you can buy Four $150 Titan Devastators toys.
