Pretty sure he is just robot and gun mode. I think they may have succeeded in making a good Gun-shockwave!
OK, that's all I thought I saw. His gun mode did look a heck of a lot like FoC Shockwave, minus wings. I agree, he is a killer gun. I can't wait to stick him in the hands if a few different bots.
I agree. He does look a lot like FoC Shocks. He's a badass gun and will look good with some big guys

Well SMYTHS have update their website with the Deluxe Protectobots. They are currently down for 29 Jun to 06 Jul release but I wouldn't be hopeful since the release date of Cyclonus and Hotspot keeps being pushed back. http://www.smythstoys.com/ie/en-ie/sear ... profile=IE

Tecnically, the combiners are not in scale with their individual toys but you obviously cant make mass shifting in toys form (unless they are non transforming sponge robots you add water to). So instead they have some figures meant to represent scale accurate interpretations of those characters. It's far from a perfect science but it explains Shockwave's size, as well as bringing the rest of the seekers out. It also work with Rodimus, although you get a double explanation with the fact that his toy is also an homage to his micromaster toy from G1 which interacted with Star Convoy, and the latter is homaged through the headsculpt of that white Prime.
I totally agree with this. And for anyone who owns generations Metroplex, Legend scale figures go great with him too. There's even a bunch of battle station positions meant to hold legend sized figures.

Also, if you needed any further convincing to get Cyclonus, Galvatronus can store Menasor's sword on his back by tabbing the sword onto the underside of the wings in the slot that the wings use to tab to the arms

And so I have!

Dead End/Brake-Neck/Streetwise

Skydive/Air Raid

Alpha Bravo/Blades

Firefly/Quickslinger

So I realized that all the twins share the same foot/hand/weapon mold, in different colors. These are all the unique molds so far. Thus I concluded that Skydive and Air Raid are distant twins because they use the same foot/hand/weapon mold.
Here's the interesting thing though - even though we all know Hound/Swindle are retools of Rook, Hound has a new foot/hand/weapon! This I know from the obviously computer-rendered version of him. You can also see Swindle and Brawl have new computer-rendered foot/hand/weapons - not twins, though they share toes.

At the BotCon 2015 however, Hound was using Streetwise's black foot/hand/weapon. Bruticus, meanwhile, had Vortex using a new foot/hand/weapon when he should be using the same one as Alpha Bravo/Blades; it seems likely they swapped it by accident. No clear shot of Swindle and Brawl's feet so it's hard to see if they managed to make new molds for Swindle or Brawl (assuming both get new foot/hand/weapon molds but one is on Vortex.) I can't even make out Blast Off's foot/hand/weapon!

Its not difficult to emulate though, as it works with silverbolt too. Simply take the tab on the underside of the wing and affix it too the open slot that menasors sword uses to tab to the gun for vehicle mode, and voila, insta-scabbard

So what is up with the distribution of CW wave 3 online? bbts sold out super quick and still have it up a pre-order scheduled fro getting in this month (of which there are 5 days left) so is that a placeholder or are they actually getting more in? TFsource has them, I dunno how good/reliable they are;
I originally thought that the lack of wave 3 was due to the problem I had with an early hotspot figure I got (covered in rust (has since been fixed by hasbro)), really hoping it isn't, I know it's still early in the year, I just don't want to miss out on them. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

D-Maximus_Prime wrote:Why did your Powerglide keep falling? Mine has stayed solid and I haven't had a problem with it?
First of all... I have a TERRIBLE time keeping his legs pegged together. The 'knees' are weak so he's a bit flopsy in gun mode.
Secondly, He just seems too heavy for Superion's arms to hold up in any kind of a cool pose. The arms keep dropping down. Closest I've gotten was attaching him to the Superion Gun, and using both hands... but it's not a very dynamic pose.
Sooo yeah, I think Powerglide was a pretty cool remake of the G1 figure and I like both his standard forms (when he keeps his legs together in jet mode) but as a gun I don't use him.
william-james88 wrote:To those asking about Shockwave's size, his size is made to represent how big Bruticus (and the other combiners) get when they combine. I understand the concept of why they did... I just wish they hadn't. Personally, the size difference between these combiners and the individual deluxes is good enough for me to say they are in scale with each other as is without trying to simulate mass shifting by buying each character a dozen times. Same with Metroplex. He'll ALWAYS be out of scale... I just can't try too hard to 'make him work' when the cartoon had everyone living inside him and what not...
If they wanted Shockwave held as a gun... (I actually missed those episodes so it isn't as important to me,) I think MP Soundwave would have been the way to go. Just include a mini Shockwave gun with one of the bots. Or give us a leader/Voyager class Shockwave and include a smaller gun with him... They jumped through a lot of hoops just to give us a tiny shockwave. After all, it always seems likes the gun changed size... not the robots.
Sometimes I don't care too much, but I was weaned on the Marvel comics where he was just a BEAST who kicked all the autobots butts and then curbstomped Megatron and took over... Seeing mini-version just doesn't work for me.
Transformers has had so many lines and divisions that scale is always out... but when they are all packaged under 'Combiner Wars' line... to me that indicates that they SHOULD be intended to 'go together'... Same reason that I couldn't get that legends Thundercracker, especially now that there is a leader Thundercracker in the same line...

Believe it or not Shockwave's gun mode is a flying gun mode. This was shown/explained in the comics and I think on the bio of the original toy. If I remember the cartoon right Bruticus was the only Decepticon to hold Shockwave as a weapon. You always saw it balanced on its grip like a stationary weapon.
I think the mystery voyager with Onslaught will be the variant of Onslaught that's going to have a different colored chest plate.

Which begs the question, if he's a flying gun, why is he held? Let him float there shooting people while Bruticus grabs another gun to shoot people.

Well in the single fictional appearance I'm aware of where Bruticus wields Shockwave as a gun, Shockwave was only briefly wielded by Bruticus, and it was unwillingly.

Oh yeah, I remember now that Shockwave just turned into a gun and shot bots. I just watched that clip, now thats thw way Shockwave sounds in my head. His voice in the FoC games and Prime never sounded right to me, but i couldn't remeber why. Man, TF is way more fun when logic is thrown out the window. So anywho, this Onslaught variant; would this a different character or literally just Onslaught with the emperor's new groove?

It's the same character just with a different colour. Though I thought it was going to be a running change with the different chest plate thing not another slot in the voyager wave
