Are your Combiner Wars options suffering from a lack of mold? Drink Prima-John Ultra! It does a bot good!

Does your combiner feel unfulfilled, and unplugged? Well, you don't have to let that happen. Get http://www.seibertron.com/energonpub/incrediplugs-cw-extended--p1691389.php#p1691389 IncrediPlugs!

Strangely enough, you know what I hadn't thought of till just now? What I'm going to do with my FP'd Energon Bruticus. He's still an amazing figure in his own right, and there's no way I'm passing on Hasbro or Takara's Bruticus. Tsk tsk... so much Brutici...

As far as deluxe class goes, in my neck of the woods we still have AoE, wave 1 RID15 and a mix of wave 1 & 2 of CW (mostly wave 1 restocks) on pegs. All the new CW figures fly off the shelves. Wave 1 voyagers are mad overstock though. On that same theme, I was super bummed out by a Wal-Mart I visited a few days ago. I saw 5 each Leader Megs on the shelf and 4 un-opened cases on a cart.

If Will is correct and we will be seeing two Voyagers in the Onslaught wave; I'm thinking it will most likely be a limbless Redecobot. The real question is who? I'm leaning (maybe that should be wishfully leaning) towards a Decepticon. At that point we will have 3 Optimaster, 2 Silvclonus and 2 Hot Slaught (heh) molds out. That's 4:3 Autobots vs Decpticons. Does Hasbro normally balance the teams? It doesn't seem likely considering all the 'Bots announced with no 'Cons in sight.

Unless Hasbro has some secret molds hidden up their sleeves, any limbs released along with the potential new torso will also be redecos. I think Victorion is just as likely as a mystery bot. I would like to see them release one torso and it's limbs per wave release at this point. I'm quickly running out of room and budget. Unless Victorion is a home run, I'm pretty likely to skip.

Its not about me being correct or not, it's simply what Hasbro is saying in the panel.

Check out these panels:

Those images at the bottom show us what to expect in terms of deluxes in those waves. So for Deluxe Wave 1 2016, we are getting only 4, the Bruticus limbs. And the voyagers we have two, one Bruticus and another one that will be like Cyclonus and have no limbs made for it. No need for guesswork or assumptions, it's just what Hasbro is telling us.

Considering they mentioned something about skylynx (I believe) having not been leaked, I wouldn't be surprised if they are keeping their cards close to their vest.

Plus sdcc is, like, 3 weeks from now, so they still have plenty of room to reveal more >:oP

I'll have 3 Brutici: FoC for pre-earth Cybertron, FP augmented, and CW. I just have to head-cannon which is the upgraded version of the other. Given CW is closer to G1 than FP augmented, I might go that route and make FP augmented the future.

Now I'm thinking of a devil gigatron combiner core with four predacon limbs...and strangely, I would buy it.
Who would be the 4? RiD had only 3 deluxe Predacons, didn't it? Sky-byte was a Predacon, but I don't see him as a limb for Gigatron, he's voyager class.

The other three were actually Basic, not Deluxe.

I am assuming they saw the 4th limb to their superion and a fun new helicopter transforming toy.

Either that or Ro-Tor. :P

Burn wrote:Not sure why people hate on Alpha Bravo so much.

It's not like you're being forced to buy him.

And so he's a new character, but the mold was clearly intended to be Vortex. ummm and why's this a problem? Datsun brothers ... Seeker jets ... that's how it's always been in Transformers, yet no one seems to **** about the Datsuns and Seekers.

There's also Cheetor and Tigatron, so it's not like this is even confined to G1 It only became less common when they started doing same-character repaints instead. :P

And how is the underside of Cyclonus worse than the underside of like a zillion other jet Transformers (to say nothing of other Transformers in general) anyhow?

Burn wrote:Kids aren't going to care about "Sky Reign". Very few will know those characters, moreso in their G1 incarnations.

They might at least have a shot at knowing Wheeljack from Prime. (And I can't help but wonder if the sword might have been part of why he got Breakdown's mold.)

I think the last time we got spitting Transformers figures was during Beast Wars.

Well, they dont have to be on equal footing. it could be like last year with the generations stuff, where we got some armada, some FOC and some Beast Wars along with G1. They could throw in some combiners from other eras, one or two, or make it some redecos since that seems to be the in thing now. I am actually quite surprised funpub is doing another combiner made up of G1 characters that didnt combine instead of a landfill homage.

And the following Transformers split:

I don't, nor do a lot of people, but their argument is that Cyclonus (as G1 Cyclonus and not, say, armada cyclonus) has always been unrealistically sleek and kibble free; it's kind of become intertwined with his image, helped along, no doubt, by the comics and other mediums where artists can take as many liberties with the design.

So their issue is that they want this as a G1 replacement (which it never set out to be) and when it doesn't meet the expectations they had of it (that it never set out to fulfill) they get all upset by it.

I stand by my logic, if you have it in a position where you're looking down on it, you won't see the kibble; it's something of an older argument, but still something people use to dissuade themselves and/or others from getting him. So I hope this helps explain why I brought this up when I was recommending it to carrytheone, and everyone who doesn't have him, by extension. >:oP

But for some reason they were the Canadian version, and had cards instead of comics. How did a Target in America get Canadian figures? Is Hasbro's American distribution so f'd up that stores have to go international to get product? I doubt some manager at Target drove down to Windsor to get them or anything, which I could see happening at a hobbyist or comic shop.

Weird.

Well if you look in back of your card you will notice that the main address Hasbro gives you for their headquarters is in Longueuil, Quebec Canada (for some reason). I dont know why that address is the biggest in the back and what it represents since Hasbro is an american company. It could be that the central distribution stems from there (which would also be odd) but the fact that one of it's head offices would be in Canada might have a link with distributions getting mixed. Canada also gets AMerican versions in the west once in a while.

Well, not the back of my card, since I didn't buy them (already got them, American version w/comics, from BBTS months ago) but I did notice the big Canada address, which is how it clicked with me they were the Canadian version and not just Hasbro going back to cards again or something.

Also, I thought Target was no longer even in Canada, making this even odder.

It does remind me, I did once see a Canadian G1 Omega Supreme in an American K-Mart, back 30 odd years ago. So much le french on the tech spec.

Ahhhhh so many fun things coming... yet not sure how much I really want... :HEADHURTS:

I already have MP prowl and Classics hound on my shelf... Can't see myself getting new versions of those.. Do NOT have a Sunstreaker, Mirage, wheeljack, or Smokescreen ... so those may happen unless I hear about some new MPs in the works... I've grown accustomed to the idea of them combining... but haven't picked a center body for them yet. I have a Prime already... MAYBE Skylynx?!? Can anyone guess of another 'G1, non-optimus' they could make for a center bot??

Absolutely HATE the legend versions of Shockwave and Rodimus...

Shockwave should NOT be that small... and Rodimus has TWO defining traits in robot mode. Yellow fin on his back... and flames on his chest. Epic Fail people.... :BANG_HEAD:

To be fair this is the first Shock wave that Generations has gotten that isn't game related. It's size is so Bruticus can use him like in the old toon. Find a bigger shockwave and he can use himself as a weapon like the animation errors of old :D

As for hotrod...guess they just waned to use the blackjack mold for something.

Ohhh I understand. I think the blackjack mold is a poor excuse. I mean... if he at LEAST folded up so prime had flames on his chest now... or if the blackjack mold wasn't notorious for falling... but as it is?? yeah, not happening.

Shockwave?? Not a fan of huge characters being tiny regardless... and yeah, I understand the idea of using him as a gun, but after Superion kept dropping Powerglide, I don't have much hope for that either :(

Believe me I want Beast Wars combiners updated like nobody's business, but at least the old toys are decently articulated.... although my Silverbolt has broken in such a way that Magnaboss can no longer combine properly.
Also the BW combiners don't fit into the mix and match theme of Combiner Wars, which is why I excluded them. Then again, neither do the Pretender Monsters or, traditionally, the Predacons, although I could see the Predacons being updated to scramble city style.

Why did your Powerglide keep falling? Mine has stayed solid and I haven't had a problem with it?

And While I'm not sure I'll actually Shockwave, he is cool and I MAY pick him up, but IDK yet :BOT:

To those asking about Shockwave's size, his size is made to represent how big Bruticus (and the other combiners) get when they combine. He represents the scale you get with mass shifting, as we saw in the G1 show. Tecnically, the combiners are not in scale with their individual toys but you obviously cant make mass shifting in toys form (unless they are non transforming sponge robots you add water to). So instead they have some figures meant to represent scale accurate interpretations of those characters. It's far from a perfect science but it explains Shockwave's size, as well as bringing the rest of the seekers out. It also work with Rodimus, although you get a double explanation with the fact that his toy is also an homage to his micromaster toy from G1 which interacted with Star Convoy, and the latter is homaged through the headsculpt of that white Prime.

I'm digging the looks of the legends Shockwave. He looks like a cool figure. You can bet somebody in my collection will be making him pew pew pew.

I may have missed it, but does he have 3 modes?

Pretty sure he is just robot and gun mode. I think they may have succeeded in making a good Gun-shockwave! :BOT:

OK, that's all I thought I saw. His gun mode did look a heck of a lot like FoC Shockwave, minus wings. I agree, he is a killer gun. I can't wait to stick him in the hands if a few different bots.
