They don't just dump paint buckets on the figures and say "this is good enough". I recognize that the incessant reuse of molds in Combiner Wars is taking its toll on everybody, but the mold reuses are not intrinsically lazy if they are operating on a reduced budget that doesn't allow for every character to be a new mold. Besides, Blast Off as a jet makes more sense. It's just a matter of time before we find out if they've changed his head or not, which I hope they do as much as anybody else. I won't say I wasn't disappointed when he was revealed to be a straight redeco of Quickslinger, but I will wait and see what happens. We have an entire year before the figure is due out, things can change.
1. As anyone will tell you, there is no sense in Transformers. These are fictional characters based on a ridiculous yet also awesome concept, so why even bother bringing reality into this? People thought a legends Groove made sense until Takara showed how fun it can be not adhere to logic. Are you saying that Rattrap should have been released last year as a Legion class? Are you saying that a Tank is as big as a Jeep? Does that make sense? Deciding what makes sense and what doesnt can create double standards. While it might make sense for Blastoff to be a Jet, it can be completely ridiculous to someone else. Onslaught, looks like onslaught and every other combaticon looks like their G1 counterpart with a slight update. Except for Blastoff. How does that make MORE sense? To me, he seems the odd man out far more now than he did before. This thread is proof of that. If it actually made perfect sense in every way, then there would be no point to argue. But sadly, it doesnt. I am not saying your argument is invalid, but saying it makes
more sense is only based on personal assumptions, nothing more.
2. That's the final head. It's an official image, the toy was shown, it's coming first quarter 2016 (which means you might see it in stores around Christmas like what happened last year), what more do you want for proof? They arent changing it. I will happily eat crow if that turns out to not be true, but while Transformer fiction may not be logical, marketting and toy production is a business. They already designed this specific toy over a year ago (at least), there is no way they are changing it with months before it hits shelves. I preffer my delusion to stop at my head cannon and not impede common sense. You know, this reminds me of when I said the Platinum Dinobots would not be the G1 reissues. There were no images, just a rumour so I had even less to go on. But even then I knew that with dinobot molds available and a G1 deco already around and the trend to eventually release SDCC exclusives in one way or another, it only made sense that it would be the AOE dinos in a G1 deco and not reissued G1 dinos. But people didnt listen and preferred hoping for something better. Where did that get anyone? Not saying all hope is lost and we are all doomed, just saying people should be smart and not build themselves up on things that go against evidence to be inevitably sad and even angrier at Hasbro. If you will be angry at them when you realize the head isnt changed, its better to simply be angry with them now and accept that fact and move on into either accepting it or choosing to vote with your wallet.
3. It's not coming out in a year, it has to be packaged within the next 3 months to secure a "first quarter 2016" release. No way are they stopping the production to fix a head because some fans didnt like it. I mean for crying out loud, they are just giving us blast off as a redeco of a jet, if that didnt tip you off about their priorities I dont know what would.
