I have to be honest, when it comes to these super late era G1 TFs I just couldn't care less. I guess there's a case to make for Grandus, but he's an easy pass for me. Aside from having no love for the character he looks boring.

Even if the ark turned out kind of meh, the Nemesis would still be on my list of TFs to get.

Weapon: Concussion Blaster Gun
With talk of Motormaster at the Commander Class, and the somewhat non-traditional combining system of Menasor,
I have a thought about a potential new set of Constructicons and Devastator:

Being that Commander Class releases aren't limited to just a larger-scaled figure, I could see a Commander Class "pack" or "set" (still a single release in a single box) that included Voyager Class Hook, Long Haul, their individual blasters, and the necessary parts/pieces to form Devastator.
--2 voyager ("triple-changers")
=$70
--forearm parts
--articulated hands
--chest plate
--waist plate (unless worked into Long Haul's design)
--large blaster
--possibly Devastator's head (so it doesn't have to be incorporated into Hook's design)
=$30

The other 4 members would be individual Voyager Class releases (all mainline).
Because it may be difficult to justify 4 voyager slots being given exclusively to Constructicons in a single year, I'd propose two are released during the second half of one year, the other two in the first half of the following, with the Commander Class set being somewhat in the middle (either Black Friday/Christmas-ish, or at the very beginning of the new year).
Each limb figure would only be packaged with his blaster; engineering/design/parts-count budget would definitely get used in ensuring all 3 modes are done well. *No lack of elbow joints, as well as decent vehicle articulation.

I understand 6 voyager figures mean this Devastator would be bigger than Legacy Menasor.
But I think that would be fine--
First, I believe that the Constructicons as individual bots are bigger than the Stunticon limb characters.
They should be scaled larger/taller than deluxes, but shorter than Megatron, Prime, Motormaster, etc. Basically the same height as NF Soundwave (Which reminds me of the '86 movie when Hook and Soundwave were fighting inside of Astrotrain; they're the same height).
Second, construction vehicles are substantially larger than sportscars.
If a new Devastator (15"-16") being larger than Legacy Menasor (11"-12") also means that both the bot and alt modes are ALL more in-scale, so be it! I'd be more than okay with that.

Now how does this play into any future release of any of the other combiners??
Who knows...
But I think it's safe to say that Devastator is the most popular combiner. And with having 6 team members, I don't think my idea is completely crazy. Clearly Hastak was okay with Devastator being larger than most of the others before... I don't think they'd have an issue with doing that again.

Now there's a thought. Maybe they could make the robot mode a homage to Liege Maximo.

I understand this perception. However in a market where we are always going to get "Legacy Characters" (by definition, not the toyline) like Optimus, Megatron, Starscream, BB each year, I think asking for One Grandus (Just like many fans are waiting for a decent new Thunderwing or Bludgeon) every 30 years or so is not unreasonable. I mean we've had what... 4 Blitzwings in the last decade?

I know this isn't how the real world works, but I can go all the way back to T30. That line was similar to Legacy in that it mixed characters from various timelines. Any OG character that hasn't had a new toy since before 2013 should get priority IMHO, behind a limited selection of top tier characters that will have updates every 1-3 years. I understand Hasbro wants to make money by focusing on the core of 84-87 (heck those are most of my favorites also), but there is quite a bit from 88-91 (North American, Japanese, and European market characters) missing and I'd love to see modern interpretations of them.
Bucket/Want List: Botcon 2016 Customization Class Ratchet (G2 Deco), or Customization Class Ratchet (Marvel Comics Deco) **would also be willing to pay for an Unpainted Botcon 2016 Ratchet, TT Legends Fortress Head (only) with working Electronics

I'll be real, I'd rather we got characters from other continuities (like this Metroplex) before obscure 90s Euro-only literal whos. I like literal whos and all, but it's about time we got some UT representation.

Now I just want a Cybertron Menasor to go with him...

I suppose it's a matter of "rank". Grandus is G1 and hasn't had a re-vamped release yet, and it's thus more eligible than something as "ugly" and "irrelevant" as Galaxy Force Metroplex to some people.

Grandus as a commander would make more sense. Assuming you have some Micromasters or Minicons to support his release. You know what? Pair him with a titan Tidal Wave in the same line. Both would be able to support mini vehicles in similar ways.

TBH, I'm not into this Cybertron Metroplex either. But that doesn't mean I'd take a Grandus over him. It's a lot of money to spend on something I'm not into.

I agree.Id not really want to spend $200+ on.a Titan Grandus. 90 for a CC is much easier to manage. That's why in my mind there's really only 2 or 3 bots in all of Transformers I could see as remaining Titans toys ( mentioned earlier). Even Tidalwavwe to me would make more sense as a Commander Class based on his appearance in 2 UT series, and not one obscure video game appearance, but I know that's just me.

I never got into the UT show; only seeing a couple of episodes here and there. I mainly remember Tidal Wave from Armada where I got the vague impression he was about titan sized and shrunk to fit Megatron. I could definitely be off on scale there.

But, even if he wasn't that big on the show I could still see him being a titan in a modern release. Even from my spotty memory of the guy I still remember his battle cry. "Tidal wave tidal wave tidal wave..."

I kinda see Grandus/Star Convoy/Sky Garry as like big powered, it doesnt make sense to only have Convoy and not his add ons available. would kinda be like getting armada prime and no Overload/Jetfire. not that we have a Hasbro generations star convoy anyways.

Depending on the scale of motormaster to Leader Optimus with trailer, Commander Class might never go back to being big bots like Jetfire, hence titan class might be needed even if its a set of Grandus plus X figure.

For $200.00 Hasbro couldn't give him his Mini-con, *ANY* electronic or Cyber-Key Gimmicks, OR even Mini-con ports, for reverse compatibility? As our goofball-in-chief would croak, "C'mon Man!".

No matter, I'm still contented with my Cybertron Metroplex, so this is completely superfluous.

HOWEVER, I am cautiously optimistic that a Titan Class Nemesis Prime might be in the works. *THAT* is something I will NOT be passing up.

I agree that the lack of any mini-con ports on this Legacy Metroplex is a bit disappointing. It would be cool to attach a few mini-cons to him in various spots, especially those mini-cons that have a 3rd mode/weapon mode (I have a few of those myself).

Just saw a photo today on Twitter where the previous Cybertron Metroplex is compared size-wise to the new Legacy version. The size increase overall...is impressive. If they were going to include his mini-con partner Drill-Bit, he would likely need to be larger that the usual mini-con size. Perhaps a modified Titans Return Twin-Twist mold would have worked for him, or even use the mold for the Takara version of the Technobot Nosecone in Drill-Bit colors!? :-?

Every time I see that pic I'm just in awe of the size.

So I got Legacy Galvatron today, I have Kingdom Galvatron but never opened it due to the bum shoulders, I really don't like having to fix toys out of the box and the work necessary for the fix was a bit too much for me. Now I haven't opened the Legacy box yet but I was surprised by how much smaller it is compared to the Kingdom one, maybe the same amount of cardboard is distributed differently due to the staggered slope, maybe not. My issue is that there's enough of a size difference that I feel the savings on packaging should've been passed on to the consumer, if not, leave the window in so I can see what I'm getting. Maybe I'm just a little salty today but it's just something I noticed and made me pause.

Thanks for saying this, I bring up Grandus being too small for a Titan whenever it comes up and I'm glad people are finally getting onboard with this. I'm not sure how this idea got going, probably from people just looking at him on his own without any context. He isn't an Autobot city, he's a Micromaster base, roughly the same size as Sky Garry and shorter than Star Convoy who themselves are also Micromaster bases, but otherwise not that much larger than your usual tall but not gigantic Transformer. Sky Garry is about the same size as regular Optimus Prime while Star Convoy is closer Powermaster Optimus Prime (Super Ginrai). Maybe at best they could do all three as a Titan priced box set with all their accessories and a few Micromasters, but that feels like more of a HasLab type thing at $300+

I think they meant Nemesis without the Prime, as in the Decepticon ship which showed up again on Metroplex's box, but probably just to show that the Decepticons traveled to a different planet.
