Or do you consider them ok as is, and want the SS to focus on characters that didn't get toys previously?(WWII BB, WWII Hotrod, Drift with Baby Dinobots)

I'd honestly prefer the latter. Cogman was somewhat of an exception, because his original toy barely saw release (at least in the US), but for the most part TLK toys were pretty easy to find, as they ROTTED on shelves (was finding Berserkers for years at some stores in my area). I'd rather they focus on new molds (a better Lamborghini Hot Rod, leader class Dinobots, any of Megatron's crew that hasn't released yet) than re-release molds of a toyline that was, and still is, pretty easy to obtain (most of those toys aren't in high demand, because that movie was terrible).

I think the only ones I'd really want to see re-released is some of the voyagers, like knight Optimus Prime in a more accurate paint job, or Hound with better paint and/or accessories.

All the old characters that were released in TLK could definitely be remade and improved in SS. Especially Megatron. The leader was too big and look daff, the voyager was basically perfect but was too small. I want a new SS TLK leader Megatron that would use clever tricks like they did for the DOTM one.

Plus, Knight Optimus need to be redone too. The voyager was a step in the right direction. So imagine a SS leader TLK Optimus that would use panels magic like Dino.

Today marks one year since I started my Studio Series customs page, so I have a couple new things to celebrate!

First up, we have an update to Sentinel Prime that I've been working on for a while. Repainted all the red sections in a new glossier red, repainted the 316 in a more accurate size, and a lot of other small things.

Up next we have Dino!

Finally, I took every project I've finished over this last year and got a group shot! Sentinel and Dino weren't quite finished when I took this, but they're both pretty close.
Year 1 pic 2.jpg

I've enjoyed the Studio series line so much - it is absolutely my favorite toyline Hasbro has ever done. Both as figures and customs project, I'm so satisfied with them.

I agree with this, a new AOE/TLK Optimus is the last Baybot I still really want from Studio Series. The wave 1 and 5 mould never really did it for me, there probably won't be another toy of his original movie design, and I have no interest in the Beewun Optimus. I'd even be happy with a repaint or reissue of the original Last Knight Voyager, because I missed out on it the first time around and Ebay is full of "Deformation" knock-offs.

First up, I would rather them prioritize TFs that didn't get toys from AOE and TLK at wide retail before they do those guys again, and even then, the only 2 I really want to see a new attempt at are Galvatron and Knight Prime, those 2 could use another go with the premium paint some of the figures have seen like Grimlock.

On a different note, I got the SS Devastator upgrade kit, and it does a lot for the figure. I already loved this figure with all my heart, but the new muscle and size added by the upgrade kit is huge. They nailed it. This is such a great package

Not bad! I'm kinda teetotaling on getting the boxset, I have been ever since it was released. I'm honestly not a big fan of the combined mode but I love the individual bots, especially the leaders. But with the upgrade kit the big guy looks better. Can he be qualified as a Titan? Is he massive enough to measure up to G1 Devy weight-wise?

He's more like a Unicron Trilogy Supreme class toy in size and mass.

Really? 2 leaders, 4 voyagers and 2 deluxes add up to that little? Compared to Titans, anyway. Wow. I am disappoint. Thanks for the comparison shots.

He seems to be about the height of Armada Unicron's robot mode, but much wider too.

I meant little weight-wise. I figured 2 leaders + 2 deluxes = 4 voyagers, so it's like he's made up of the weight of 8 voyagers, so he should be heavier than Titan Devy. But that's just a guess. I know the Supreme class figures are lighter.

Ah, I dunno about weight. I was going by size, but yeah I would imagine that eight figures would make him fairly heavy.

Not just that but each components of CW Devastator are hollow and feel like they are made out of tupperware containers. I hated that so I sold him with no regrets.

I got the undersized KO that is the same size as a regular CW combiner. It's a perfect copy of the original down to even the same kind of plastics. But at that size (and at that price) it feel like the best combiner I've ever handled. Weird.

But anyway, comparing CW Devy to the SS one is like comparing a Generations figure to a Masterpiece. The quality and number of parts cannot be fairly compared.

I had really written this figure off at first, but I decided to do some quick paint work the other day (not a full custom or anything), and it’s actually growing on me quite a bit.

I guess it's a good incentive since you can swap the masked head with Offroad Bee, but yeah, it's a little weird that they used the mask since he doesn't use it in that mode.

Speaking of masked vs unmasked, I'm kinda shocked that we've had 3 Bayverse Primes in SS without an unmasked head. There was that picture of one on SS-05, but that never seemed to make it to retail. If the rumors of a SS Evasion Prime do pan out, I'm guessing we'll see one on that.

Motto: "Can't do a job halfway. What's worth doing is worth doing well, I say."
Weapon: Saber Blade

"When there's gold feathers, punch behind you!!"

Shadowman wrote:This is Sabrblade we're talking about. His ability to store trivial information about TV shows is downright superhuman.
Caelus wrote:My wife pointed out something interesting about the prehistoric Predacons. I said that everyone was complaining because transforming for them mostly consisted of them just standing up-right. She essentially said, 'So? That's what our ancestors did.'
