Really, any combiner is a 'ridiculous alt mode'.It's five (and sometimes six) Transformers who become legs, torsos, and arms,(and sometimes chests) who then attach onto each other.

Totally agree. The fact that he is specifically a Walther P38 is so much more interesting to me. It is essentially a Nazi gun, which is fitting to a character like Megatron.

Objects that dont work as disguises are fair game as well but there seems to be a distinction between ridiculous looking and illogical. "Ridiculous" seems to mean all of this.

Clearly a rhetorical question. Stuff like that always seemed, even to Child Me, like it was called a 'mode' because it was a shape the figure could assume. I'm all for imagination but damn, I'm blown away thinking back to how much of it we had compared to now. I remember when it was all 8-bit consoles around here, as far as the milky cataract could see...

Quickswitch too though. As much as I enjoyed having a six-changer, that thing didn't even turn into a robot, not really. The boat-mode was semi-plausible with a child's imagination but on the whole, that was it's only actual 'mode'.

Lord. I picked Quickswitch up at a con last November for ten bucks. He's...... well, ten bucks was a fair price, I suppose. He's missing his guns but they wouldn't make him much better.

Armada Laserbeak. Not only was he completely out of scale with the whole line (since he was meant for kids to roleplay with) but apparently his video camera mode wasn't enough, so he got some really doofy looking gun alt mode (which just looked like a camera with a handle, which isn't that absurd a thing in and of itself, they exist, just the idea that it made him a weapon). Then because he was billed as having a "gun" mode he had to be covered in glowing orange making his camera alt mode look like his camera mode wasn't actually a camera mode but a toy camera mode.
