Rapido! Rapido! We're not talking about the speed of yours truly, or the speed of our news. We're referring to an exclusive figure from the big show itself -
Botcon. Earlier in the week, robust news administrator Mkall
reported that Botcon would have a
Generation Two theme. All the cards are pointing in that direction, as Transformers insider and Energon Pub member s250 has updated his
twitter with this message:
Classics Prowl repaint as G2 Rapido....BotCon
Now what does Rapido look like? Well the fellow below happens to be him, pictures courtesy of
Istaipen.
Classics/Universe Prowl was released a year or two ago, you can check our gallery of the figure
here!
Keep it at
Seibertron.com for the fastest Transformers news on the net!
PLEASE NOTE THAT WE DO NOT HAVE CONFIRMATION FROM ANYONE OFFICIALLY ASSOCIATED WITH BOTCON REGARDING THIS. UNTIL IT IS ANNOUNCED BY BOTCON, THIS SHOULD BE CONSIDERED A RUMOR! PLEASE STAY TUNED FOR FURTHER DETAILS AS THEY BECOME AVAILABLE!!!

A quote from Pete Sinclair of Botcon indicated that this years Botcon set will feature "A Generation Lost." Which could be taken in several different ways at the time. Tonight Seibertron.com received a tip from a source whom wishes to remain anonymous that the set for Botcon 2010 will focus on
Generation 2 characters. This source was unable to name molds or characters sadly.
The source also states that there will be fewer box sets made this year. A reason was not given however, and thus can only be speculated on.
This leaves the floor wide open to mold and character choice at this time. There are several G2 characters that were repaints of G1 characters, such as black Sideswipe, yellow and purple "camoflague" Onslaught, grey Starscream, purple and black Ramjet and so on. Of course there are plenty of other G2 characters that could be homaged by existing molds.
Keep in mind that this is only a rumour until further evidence is aquired.
Stay tuned to
Seibertron.com as we find out more information on these upcoming figures! Also be sure to check out
http://www.botcon.com for all official updates for the convention.

-Because it's assinine that we're still doing this. Because it's assinine that we're still collecting Transformers after 25 years. Because it's assinine that it's coming out of a small Transformers convention in the middle of Wisconsin called "DAIRYCON"!
-It's Assinine! Get it? Did we hammer it home?
It appears that Dairycon’s “Donkey of the Apocalypse” is about to see his final variation! It’s been revealed that the fabled Limited Edition “Maniacal Maroon” ASS-09 figure will be available
EXCLUSIVELY through our friends at
TFSource.com! Word on the street is that the figure will retail for $49.99, a fraction of the price that some of the previous versions have seen on the likes of Ebay! The figure will only be available in *very* limted numbers, and it’s my understanding that once he’s gone, HE’S GONE! Keep an eye out for more news regarding this figure from
TFSource!
Previously only hinted at when the other Multi-Convention exclusives were announced (in
ASS-09’s Bio Page), there are 5 confirmed variants to the ASS-09 figure. Of each of these, all were only available through various TF Conventions (one for each Con: Dairycon, CybCon, Autocon, Gamer’s Reunion, DutchBotcon), with the 6th figure left mysteriously absent, with all but a hint of its existence from a photograph on the page…
("Maniacal Maroon" ASS-09 can be seen in the upper-right corner)
The following is an excerpt featuring the "Thousand Asses of the Apocalypse" from the latest Dairycon fanfic
"The Return of Convoy":
SunBeam was out of time. The lead horse was mere yards from his rear bumper. He knew he couldn't outrun them. Cursing Primus for his run of bad luck, SunBeam transformed, grabbing ahold of PinchBottom as he did so.
SunBeam: "This is it, little buddy. We had a good run. You need to get word to the others. Tell them... tell them I'm sorry, and that maybe I died a hero."
Pulling back, SunBeam threw PinchBottom as far away from the fracus as he could. He then turned, and began to lay down a covering fire. In this strange planet with its desert heat, his one saving grace was an abundance of solar energy that he could tap and turn into laser-fire.
SunBeam shot down several of the horses before sheer weight of numbers enveloped him. The horses flowed over him, around him. Several transformed and started beating him with their stunwhips. Others trampled him as they gallopped past. Enraged, SunBeam did the only thing he could. Pulling off his chestplate, and ripping the lasercore from his body, SunBeam tossed it out into the deepest part of the drones. Shooting it with the trickle of energy he had left in residual systems, SunBeam detonated his very core.
The blast was impressive, leaving a football field-sized hole in the terrain, and taking out a number of the Ass-09 drones in the process. The flow of beasts halted, as if reassessing the situation. Silence ruled the plain…
Then the flow began again, around the hole where the sparkcore had detonated. An uncounted number of hooves trampled a lifeless yellow chassis deeper into the sand.
Did you miss out on attending one of the conventions last year? Can’t live without your very own “Donkey of the Apocalypse”? -Want to add to your collection of the "Thousand Asses of the Apocalypse"? Need to add another figure to flesh out your “Cult of Unicron”? Think the phrase “Maniacal Maroon” is fun to say? Then keep an eye out for the upcoming announcement from our friends at
TFSource!
Of course, more information about ASS-09 and other characters from the Dairycon Universe can be found here:

More information is yet to come for this year's Dairycon, so stay tuned?!

We've received many reports from Transformers fans that new Knock-offs have surfaced on
eBay. In addition to G1
Red Alert,
Sideswipe, and a
Protectorbots Gift Set which have already been released, a
Stunticons Gift set is slated for release after the Chinese New Year.
While it may be tempting to buy such memorable characters in a nice. new throw-back package,
none of us here at Seibertron.com recommend or endorse purchasing these figures. Products such as these not only violate copyright laws, but they also don't measure up to the same materials used and quality control protocols that the originals must go through. Please, do your research before buying what you believe to be a MISB G1 figure off of eBay and know the differences between real and fake.

Variety mentions in a report the third Transformers film could be made for viewing in 3-D. The article regarding films made in 3-D particularly mentions Transformers 3, and how this is being discussed behind the scenes:
Stereo Pictures Korea president Sung Young-seok told Daily Variety that his company is in talks for three additional pictures at Warner and is bidding on a number of 3D films for individual directors, including one for Michael Bay.
Bay's next project is "Transformers 3," and there have been discussions among Bay, Paramount and Industrial Light & Magic about going 3D with the pic. The big stumbling block is the extra time required to do production and visual effects in 3D, as the movie's release date is already set. Having the pic post-converted could alleviate that problem.
Meaning there's a chance you'll be seeing your favorite Transformers leap through the screen July 1st, next year. To view the entire article,

Previously reported
here on Seibertron.com, Transformers film director Michael Bay had updated his site, Shoot for the Edit, with possible locations for filming Tranformers 3.
According to a report by
TFW2005.com, an anonymous news submitter has spotted a sign at
Chicago Studio City stating that the office of Michael Bay can be found at that location.
Given Michael Bay's extensive history with filming in Chicago, IL.; Bad Boys (1995) and more recently, A Nightmare On Elm Street (2010), it is plausible to believe that this could mean that Mr. Bay has chosen the Windy City as a filming hot spot, but until we get further confirmation on this, treat it as a rumor.
