Packaging, front and rear, with nice Slipstream art. Each pack contains 2 character cards (foil, in this case) plus 2 battle cards.
Cardboard inserted to protect the cards.
Pack also includes a promotional gold foil card for the game, with Slipstream silhouette one one side.
Then the two and two cards, as described on packaging!
The two Battle cards feature IDW comics art each: All-out Attack & Tandem Targeting System.
First character card is Slipstream - one side in jet mode, one in robot mode. The robot mode art is foil, and each mode has a different ability.
Specs: Strategic Seeker - Plane - Ranged attack
robot mode ATT 3 HP 13 DEF 1 | alt mode ATT 3 HP 13 DEF 2
Second character card is Cliffjumper - one side in vehicle mode, one in robot mode. The robot mode art is foil, and each mode has a different ability.
Specs: Renegade warrior - Car - Ranged attack
robot mode ATT 5 HP 12 DEF 2 | alt mode ATT 5 HP 12 DEF 2
Group shot.

Also, how to these cards feel in hand? Same as magic cards?
Omega-Doom wrote:Is there going to be a Decepticon starter deck? I would love it if they had released one. forever!
I think it would be a mistake not to have one. Its always been about Bots VS Cons. My guess is since the starter decks become available September 28, 2018 they will probably have some time to reveal a Decepticon deck before then.
Looking at most successful card games starter decks often come in pairs so that players can start with different decks. This is a good idea because the point of collectible card games are so that you can customize your deck rather than just play with preset cards. Facing different decks and choosing one that matches the player's style is very important. Especially when people feel they identify with the characters on the cards.
Magic players may remember how attached people got to their Ravnica guilds. The Return to Ravnica set saw record sales and event attendance too. While I doubt any cardgame could match that I think the principal is the same. Sorry if that's a ramble. I could use some sleep haha.

There is a decklist for the Autobot Starter set if you would like to compare cards. We also have a pictorial review of the SDCC exclusive card set which gives us a good first look of these cards in hand to get a better idea about their design.
While the only card image included with the set spoiler is of Decepticon Shockwave // Cybertron Commander we now know which characters will be featured. Since this set won't be out until September 28th, 2018 we have lots of time to speculate what they do and hope for more card images with text. Did your favorite characters make it? If not who would you have liked to see?

I'd also like to point out there is a list of credits at the bottom of the page that shows us who worked on the game.

Some of my favorite artists from the comics worked on this. Nick Roche, Sara Pitre-Durocher, and Alex Milne to name a few!

I think by Darkmount they mean Straxus, as that is what the Generations toy was called.

I don't want to burst the bubble here, but it may be the case that those people haven't directly worked on the game, just that their art is featured on the cards! I'm not saying this is for sure, just a heads up.

Yeah that was what I meant, didn't phrase it right I suppose. I would consider contributing artwork working on the game. But yeah, the WotC staff are the ones responsible for developing the actual gameplay and cards.

Hopefully they make some cards that allow you to discard your deck quickly then, or else it just becomes a neat novelty ability.

The deck also features Scamper, Six-Gun, and Slammer, plus some special battle cards to use with this first enormously oversized Titan foil card, and lends itself to speculate that once the Decepticon side is brought into the game we'll be seeing some giant purplesaur too. Check out the image of the deck in packaging below, and let us know what you think!

On the deck cycling, i think decks will cycle quickly as you draw when battling. May be more about having a deck full of cards to keep your characters alive whilst waiting for the deck to cycle.

Rodimus Knight wrote:So for people who collect these things, where to get get card sheets to hold this extra large cards?
Depending on the actual card size something like a document protector for a full sized sheet of paper will probably work.

Rodimus Knight wrote:So for people who collect these things, where to get get card sheets to hold this extra large cards?
They make toploaders for cards this big. But oddly, not for the regular "medium" character cards.

I bet these would work. Though they may be hard to come by.

Iron Prime wrote:How do you get Sunstorm from Game Stop? Just ask or do you have to buy a deck with him in it?
Don't quote me on it but it may work like one of those deals where you buy so many boosters and then they give him to you (or maybe it's for participating in a tournament, but I think it's more you buy from them, they give to you)
The more I see this the more I want to play, but the more I lament that I'll probably have no one to play with...

Uh, no, it's definitely blank. You can even see the background behind where the text would be. Plus the other photos from there down appear to be taken by the same person and the text shows up perfectly clear on all of them. Plus plus there's no sign of flash glare on the cards, they appear to be taken under normal room lighting. Plus plus plus that's not the only blank card, the Ironhide, Red Alert, "Primary Laser" and "Armor Plating" cards are also blank.
