TF Yuki is at it again and has posted an in package image of Legends Chromia.

TakaraTomy's Chromia is colored quite a bit differently from the US version, as you can see in the image below, and you can compare the differences by checking out our gallery of the US version of the figure by clicking here.

You can visit Yuki's Twitter by clicking the image below:

Feels like TakaraTomy just wastes an assload of materials with some of their packaging.

You can use those extra materials to repack the item when you no longer need to play them.

Btw, aren't those lipstick enhancement on their lips? Aren't those appearance enhancers objectifying them? 'bots don't need those "enhancers"

Hey hey hey, I noticed Chromia's box art, she is kicking up her heels.........is that objectifying her?

Oh, that's why they do it? Because of how ugly a ripped up carded package looks?

I've always thought it would make more sense to take carded packaging as it is and fold it over into a small box-like contraption to surround the bubble. The bubble could double as the window, there's enough cardboard to wrap around the inner bubble, tightly, just slap on a hook hanger and there you go.

No more waste, the same amount of materials, done. Plus, with them being boxed, you could probably fit more to a case than this way. I must agree, the Takara packaging, while very nice, does come across as wasteful. It's pretty, sure, but wasteful.

They've been doing that since beastwars iirc. As for a ripped box card, not only for looks but to be environmental friendly :P

Yeah, I remember Stampy's packing being like that, then promptly forgot all about it when I got AD05 and he was on a card. But I think DOTM had Western-styled packaging, too, come to think of it.

I guess since we're officially talking about Chromia now I can post about her without being off topic.
I wasn't a fan of the lavender to begin with but it's growing on me, along with the blue versus clear plastic, and the eye and lip details make it much more appealing when compared to the Hasbro dead-eyes scary-face.

I haven't seen any camel toe, butt crack, nipples or spread eagle poses with legs to the sky. How bad is it really?

Just change the topic header and keep on truckin'.

As I mentioned previously, it sounds silly already no?

Now, back to being serious, despite many shots of the fembots, what intrigues me is the paint apps of Windblade's face. The USA version is acceptable but the kabuki motiff seems to enhance most of her features.

Also, when they(Tomy) use the anime style mixed with mecha, the fembots are more pleasing to the eyes when rendered. Some use the Yaniger style, and they also look good (those styles can be seen with those sexist pics I posted a few clicks back)

Maybe a few hours from now, Yuki will present Windblade too.........so excited!

I like the TakaraTomy TF Prime deluxe boxes the most. Everything's collapsible, including the protective cardboard inside. When I display the figs, I can save space by flat-packing everything and storing them in a drawer.

Thanks! The Headmaster mechanism is tight but works fine. Everything is tight about this figure, Takara doesn't mess around. (:

To me, Arcee doesn't look objectified in that pic at all, just idle.

Seriously though, the poseability of todays releases are outstanding. Either they pop off the seams or pose in such a manner that we can objectify to a fault.

this is hilarious. and I approve. But this pic is an exception, not a rule.

also, yes. I love how well these new figures can be posed. Although I did not like the probable reasoning behind Arcee's pose, I thought it was neat that it could even be done.

I'm all for this increase in posability and Brainstorm is one of my new favorites. Kinda wish I got the legends version now just for the darker canopy. it looks nice.

Anyone getting buttflustered over the pose of an inanimate lump of plastic has far, far too much time on their hands. Just sayin'.

I wonder what actual ladies would have to say about the pose of that inanimate lump of plastic. My wife certainly rolled her eyes at this, and I'd be interested to hear what female members think about it.

At this point, my issue isn't with the pose itself so much as with the people really going out of their way to invalidate or mock the opinions of folks who do take issue with it. Seems very #GamerGate to me. >:oP

Whether or not you think there's some level of sexism/misogyny here, I would have expected the long absent Fembot figures to be treated with some caution. Arcee's pose isn't nearly as bad as the objectification of FlameWar and FlareUp, but given the potential for that perception, I had hoped they would have done something generic like Chromia's shot rather than potentially problematic silhouettes like Arcee's or scenes of the lady bots fawning over big strong Star Saber.

Not trying to ruffle feathers here, but I do think it's important for a predominantly male fandom to be conscious of these things.

Or maybe the time is being used to call out the ingrained mentality of an unfortunately large portion of this fandom. The fact that others may do worse, that there are other, worse episodes on this matter, and that other people don't take issue with it does not dismiss the fact that whenever Arcee (iconic female character of the franchise, for the first time given its proper lump of plastic treatment), Chromia or Windblade show up, this type of image is what we get.

Megatron Wolf Wolfman Jake mentioned earlier about this being systemic, and we all seem to have figured out that there is definitely something about that pose that says 'feminine'. And that is comproved when a 'masculine' character like Brainstorm is shown in the same pose. Yes, I agree, it is systemic.

That does not mean I accept it. I choose to spend my time challenging the assumptions that inanimate lumps of plastic that are meant to represent characters defined as female are posed in ways that reek of objectification, sexualisation and (male) fanservice.

If any of you would like to continue the discussion much further, please choose one of those to do so. This thread is for the Transformers Legends figures.

Of course as usual I really like the colors on this Tak release better than the domestic. No surprise there.
I'm a little confused about the discrepancy over the different hands. I have the domestic release with closed hands. Last night I shaved the plastic out of the palms to do away with the stop, keeping her weapon handles from fitting all the way down in her hands. It was an easy fix with an Xacto knife that caused no damage to the toy, or the integrity of the plastic. I imagine if the Tak release has these stops the same remedy would apply.
Either version is really nice, and it's just great to finally have a good Arcee toy that fits into the CHUG universe. Energon scout Arcee has been returned to her proper shelf.

Honestly? To me she just looks like she's lounging around. Nothing about this screams "sexist" or "objectified". She hasn't gotten her legs spread or her chest/arse thrust towards the camera, and really she doesn't look like she's doing anything other than chilling out or maybe waving at the camera. She isn't even the main focus of the pic- the central element is clearly the boxed figure. And let's be realistic here- TFYuki picked that pose whilst messing with her because it was a fun, cute way of showing off the figure and she held the pose well, not as part of some ludicrous mustache-twirling plot to objectify women. Who hasn't given their figures a silly pose before? The Sarkeesian brigade need to chill out a bit, or are we going to need to start #ArceeGate?

Anyway, I really like this figure- I think I might pick her up. One can never have too many fembots after all, and my Charming Drossel could do with some more companions.

They're same guns that came with the Hasbro version. Takara just colored them show-accurate for their release:

Yea, more than likely the other gun is stored in the vehicle mode since it helps hold the arms together, either that or just out of view

This.

#GamerGate had a lot of legit issues which were quite similar to some issues raised by Rated X about the industry being too comfy with each other. The rest of the trash that followed was overkill. Let's leave it at that. As for people going out of their way to raise a legitimate counter to the issue raised about sexism, well you need to BACK UP your statements no?

I even raised the definition of "sexist". The pose in question when fitted with the term sexist really doesn't make sense at all.

Sexism can't be a one way street focused only at the female gender. Males too are objectified hence I also posted pics of several bad@ss male transformers all projecting their BFGs. That Megatron pose by Guido Guidi........so makes you want to submit to him and bow down. Got to hand it to the artist for rendering an awesome pose.

It is quite silly that we have gone to a point of being so ultra sensitive that anything must be so "controversial" that we have to think if I'm hurting someone.....is this kind of Orwellian already? Really, I didn't see the pose of Arcee making me want to turn females into submissive underdogs/servants/slaves etc. Nada....nothing.

I really don't see anything "sexual" in TFs. Just the never ending battle between good and evil. If you want sexual, go to regular canned live shows or reality garbage in network shows. You've got more than enough of those. In animation? Well you have anime, if those are your kicks.

It seems you can NEVER please a significant member of society......its gone to a point of being a Grievance Society.......no Industry. I'd bet someone in the gunless movement will protest against making MP Megatron as a propaganda tool for the NRA or selling toys like Legends "tank" Megatron as encouraging kids to go to war will get targetted by Code Pink and those Peaceniks.

It has spilled out to a point that the anti tobacco laws (which I support as it, tobacco KILLS people with Cancer) has caused legal issues with the sale of MP-Exhaust, which though already modified the "Malboor" logo is still an issue at selling it domestically).

It has come to a point of silliness. Peace.

The domestic release have both weapons black. Would the pink and black deco be implemented in the Legends release?
They're same guns that came with the Hasbro version. Takara just colored them show-accurate for their release:

Which means.the Legends versions will have a pink and black gun? ( In Yuki's pic, at the angle, I see the pink one) So the boxart and the contents are essentially the same?
Here's an official stock photo that shows Takara Arcee's smaller gun in gray:

Points up for Tomy Arcee then.

Anime accurate color apps
Weapon color anime accurate

Just saying, but if you read Megatronus' post more closely, he's not necessarily agreeing with you.

BTW, just putting this out there, but to those who've already got the Hasbro version, is Arcee's head easy to remove, as in a simple ball jointed neck?

Meant to get the Hasbro version for a custom job (new paint, and a custom head), but they were all snatched up real quick. I might still get the TT version if the head is removable. At least I won't have to repaint anything since the TT version's white joints and collar area are more flattering to the fig.

Yup. Read it. All this sensitivity has gone quite amuck. That's just my piece.

So if let's say Strika was released, she's built like a tank and not too humanoid looking, heaven forbid another gender issue is raised. Wish that when it comes to Transformers, PC politics such as this is kept away. Let's complain about the price of the Tomy against the Hasbro. Or how Hasbro's domestic distribution policies suck or how scalpers are the bane of the hobby.Or TFA artstyle sucks etc. I'm game with that.

Back to Legends, behold TF Yuki's fanwank on Windblade

Yeah, you made your point very clear, that people have become too sensitive and PC about the alleged sexualization and objectification of female TF's. But his point is precisely that Hasbro or whoever's in charge of taking these pics should indeed be more careful in avoiding the objectification of the female characters. Isn't that the opposite of what you've been trying to say?

Totally agreed. Like I said, it's pretty tiresome when almost every thread about a fembot fig has to be tied to complaints of sexism. Granted, it's still not nearly as bad here as it is at tfw2005. Over there, even when the subject is Strika, people start posting things like, "Now THIS is how a fembot should look like! Twigs and supermodels like Arcee and Chromia are sexist and chauvinistic!" And then come the counter-posts and it all gets turned into a "femnazis vs chauvinist pigs" death match. :BANG_HEAD:
