$59.99. And yes, it qualified for free shipping.deathy wrote:since this is the amazon.com unicron thread.
What was the exact price amazon was selling the exclusive unicron for?
The link for the amazon exclusive unicron shows a sold out & even goes as far as to take away the selling price.
Also is it true amazon.com was charging ZERO shipping fees for this item.

Unless you're outside the US. It's cost me about $10 to get it to Australia and will take about 3-4 weeks. Pretty acceptable I feel.

This makes little sense.

I've got a buddy who sells on Checkoutmycards.com. When he gets a card through the site that he doesn't want to sell or isn't ready to sell, but wants others to see he's got it he will jack the price to a ridiculous number. He figures no one will buy it so it is safe, but if someone is stupid enough oh well.
People will put it in their watch list and if he drops the price to something reasonable
it often will sell.
This guy may have wanted to get the word out, but may not have it in hand, or he's just playing mind games with buyers.
To be fair, though, G1 Unicron's character model did bear a rather basic and simple color scheme that was very subtle in its details. But then again, that was a common characteristic of many/most of the G1 character models.Cyberseven wrote:Now as far as the looks, the Takara one has a darker, but more simplistic look to it. I do not want to offend anyone, but IMO side by side, the Takara one looks a little unfinished, and monochrome. Something I didn't see before I had the Hasbro/Amazon one to compare in person.

There would be some deal involved, but they'll be treating it as a promotional thing.
Three years ago most websites would offer free shipping if you spent over a certain amount of money, more and more i'm seeing are now offering free shipping regardless of what you spend. It's an incentive to get people to buy from them rather than their competitor.
Simple marketting ploy.
Armored Rah wrote:Got mine today. It sucks. The Armada one was much better quality. The plastic on this is rubbery and cheap feeling. If the Takara one was like this, then I'm really suprised, since I had assumed it was a step up from the Armada version. I'm not happy with mine at all. I've spent four hours swapping springs and parts from my Armada Unicron in hopes that I could make this one half-way decent. I'm not even getting into all the problems I had. Lets just say, if you want a Unicron, this is a cheap option that gets you the G1 head, but really, the head is the only thing worth keeping. Junk the rest and put the head on an Armada Unicron and do some painting. Really, this thing is just so disapointing....

And then started appearing for 2-3 hundred bucks...
This should put to rest the ridiculous notion that average fans are to blame for the shortages of the toys we all actually want. Because for every person who was lucky enough to get two for their collection there must have been a handful of scalpers who bought a lot more.
How does this happen all the time?! The only thing that makes sense is that there are actually people out there who just do absolutely nothing all day but hit "refresh" on the news pages for these fan sites so they can buy up everything, while those of us who actually try to have lives have to fit our shopping into our schedules.
Congratulations to everyone who got one though, it looks fantastic!

Wow. I opened mine up today and have no problems with it at all. The joint are just as tight as the Armada and the plastic seems mostly the same to me. I am super psyched about it. Especially like how the blue seems a little more muted in person than in photos. Makes it look even more screen accurate IMHO. Overall I applaud this one
Maybe yours was a faulty defect, since others are giving positive words about the figure's quality (color schemes aside).Armored Rah wrote:Got mine today. It sucks. Point taken!
How often do people spend that kind of money on one Transformer?
I'm just asking here because I want the feedback.
