Let's see how it goes

Good luck, if you find you are not hitting as often as you like in the main battle, it may be a good idea to drop one of the FP's for speed but see how that works first.
Either way - outnumbered and outlevelled is the way forwards...

Just to update, made the changes and im finding it much better, and energon has increased by half :)

Plus i get the satisfaction of actually winning occasionally ;) This officially means I owe you a pie. Until i find a way of faxing a pie that doesnt involve buying a new fax machine shortly afterwards we'll just have to chalk it up.

Double barrelled plasma shell shotgun here i come, Mwahahahahaahahaaa. *ahem*

I just started playing a couple of days ago and I'm still feeling the game out.

I just wanted to get a post out here so that I can hopefully find others to join up with and learn from.

this game takes time and patience in the beginning, then u will see nice results when ur stats begin to raise :), also create more cons

at level 0 there are 4 configs that really work

2speed
2avoid

or

4str

i dont remember the others ^^

I suggest forming a bond with you team, write some bios and backgrounds. Watch the forums alot and find some names you see in the logs, enemy and friends. Get involved. Make it more than just numbers. If you do that you may even end up with a fan fic. Beware though you should look at this thread and be warned.

4 Speed works well but you don't get to whore the extra xp you'd get for putting something into Avoid.

I had a whole list of configs Goribus & Caelus told me back in December but I just deleted it yesterday... #-o

Best advice is to build as many as you are comfortable with and keep playing with the setup of your bots until you're happy with them.

However should you wish to whore as much xp as possible then a setup involving avoid will get you a bonus 50xp and 50 energon each time you successfully avoid.

Don't bother with Repair - I've got 85,000xp to play with (Level 1-2ish) and I can't get it to work out right, the advise I've been given is not to attempt until at least level 3.

Weapons wise I'd ask around if anyone has and Distruptor Rifles or X-Ray Lasers they are prepared to part with as the other weapons available at very low levels aren't much cop.

Don't worry about the lvl 0 configs. I know quite a few that have very little chance of losing, except in missions where nobody backs the character up.

Also, now that the basic tactic stuff for the Sea Creatures have been updated so that avoid doesn't cost anything and that strafe costs alot less, I got a few questions.

When I level Water Convoy up to 2, would it be better to stick with the action master setup that I started on or should I start investing in avoid and speed?

His current config:

5 str
3 spd
3 fp
2 skl and Battle Blades

I was thinking of saving up at least 100k expendable xp and putting more into str, spd, and cour, but now that avoid doesn't cost any Int anymore, should I start trying that as well? Thanks for the input.

Even at level 3 saving 100K takes for ever, let alone level 2. As you are using a core alt, dont be scared to reset and change stats around as often as you can be bothered, it will make all the difference.

As avoid is the core tactic, id consider the speed/avoid route. It may require a re-think of how you configure your con tho; you may find its better to sacrifice some strength and convert it to speed to better use your avoids to start with, allowing you to earn for more xp for strength a bit later.
The usual disclaimers apply.

Welcome to level 2 and being constantly outnumbered! But there are plenty of ways around that...;)

Thanks, Psychout, and Tifereth. Fire Convoy has a similar config at lvl 2 (6 str 3 spd 1-2 cour 3 fp 2 skl and 5 ram), but unlike Water Convoy, I can use ram and limit the character to smaller missions, so the input reall helps. I'm not in a hurry to level up, so I guess I'll just let him sit and gather some more xp and then reset.

We've almost the exact same number of lvl 1s. Methinks you've a good base for experimenting and my team will tell you once they see you in missions, especially Flame Convoy, Imperial Convoy, Chief Convoy and Sith Convoy. :)

I just wish I had some more XP to experiment with. But nearly every mission and arena fight my guys get slagged and I walk away with minimum XP

You'll get that soon enough. After all, my bottom six, especially the bottom five, don't have that much xp either, even for lvl 1s.

Hi Dragonslayer

It sounds like you've got 2 problems here.

1/ your fellow Autobot backup sucks! (play with us Brits - we'll take care of ya!)
2/ you levellled up too early.

If you can stand to do it - reset them as level 0 with 4 avoid and arm them Xrays or distruptors - You'll walk away with around 200-250xp 250energon per arena battle and with care in missions over 300 per time. Once you hit 80,000xp you'll have level 1's that can easily hold their own in the arena and provided your backup is Ok you should walk away win or lose from most missions with enough Xp for it to have been worthwhile. The spare energon is also a handy extra!

From the regular kickings Psychout (level 3 con) gives me I've come to the conclusion that level 1 bots only really start kicking serious aft wth a good setup at the 70-80k xp mark and while I started moving to level 1 at 24k xp I soon levelled back down I've got 6 level 1 and 6 level 0's and I'm not thinking of upgading the level 0's until 40k xp each.

Also Boltbrain seems to be setup for brawling but he's got 2 in firepower? - Personally I'd take his weapon off and see if those firepower stats would be better in more Str or a bit of Spd or if you like going after higher level opponents then maybe courage and leaving him weaponless (5 str gives a pretty heavy smackdown on it's own - See my cannon feeder's (http://www.seibertron.com/heavymetalwar ... r_id=65621) battles for proof - he'll soon have 6str plus more str is more armour!

Urrgh.... anyway I've only been playing since dec 06 and this is not writing my job application (due in in 10 mins) or the fanfic I'm writing for Rid.....

Meantimes "Roll Out" fellow Autobot!

Sound advice, but there is no harm is chucking 1 or 2 of your bots up a level if you have the energon to handle the intial losses CR losses. Just be sure you dont hamstring your own team by chosing your missions carefully.

Thus endeth the 'be nice to the new autobot player' period... now bring on the pain!!

But the advantage of levelling up early is getting more xp faster, which is why Flame Convoy and the rest are at lvl 1 right now.

But bewarned, Dragonslayer, my Destrons are not particularly merciful.

Yeah some time levelling up early works sometimes it doesn't - I wouldn't level down Boltbrain for example, but I woud reset the stats to a pure brawler type config. Anything with less than 30k xp I wouldn't flinch at levelling down.

[EDIT] Ouch! I've just seen your energon levels 1,800!! Don't deploy any level 1's for a while! - get some cash in first!

Yep, there's Ballsy and then there's Suicidal. 30K IIRC is option B.
