I wonder if Soundwaves feet can fold out in correct way to give alt mode a more Aero dynamic look.

It's from his Cybertron-style model sheet.

Only way I'm going to be disappointed with Shockwave is if the core bot doesn't have his own alt mode. We've seen both combined modes and we've seen Shockwave riding his extra parts, but they're refusing to show Shockwave in alt mode without the armor, they wouldn't even comment on it (the "upside down submarine" joke seemed to go right over Warden's head).

I took it more as Warden deliberately avoiding an answer to that so as to not even mention the possibility of Shockwave's unarmored altmode looking like a sci-fi gun, which is probably because it does look like a sci-fi gun and they can't actually talk about that.

I sure hope you're right, it's hard to tell with him sometimes. I'm pretty sure his big Leiji Matsumoto-esque ship alt mode's tower is on his back and it does have a gun handle pattern on it so it's entirely possible.

The american gun control debate and Transformers being a byproduct of the '80 Reagan era where corporations sold kids toy guys which looked like real guns has basically made the G1 Megatron and Shockwave a cluster **** which will invariably attract a lot of yelling from any side, so my guess is Hasbro is increasingly less happy about selling toy guns and just pretend they are oddly-shaped spaceship and submarines as a way to get this stuff past the radar.

I'm pretty sure in today's climate them selling a gun Megatron would be tantamount to Hasbro coming out in support of the NRA or some dumb stuff like that!

I've never understood why Shockwave in gun form is a no-no. The only gun he resembles is a barcode scanner, in fact, why not just say he's a barcode scanner? We'll all know what it's supposed to be.

It probably has to do with his altmode being a firearm of any kind at all, period, regardless of how unrealistic and sci-fi it looks, hence why even Sixshot had to have his much less realistic-looking gun form marketed as a non-firearm object (a submarine) altogether.

It also comes down to the parents. A parent that allows a kid to own a Transformer may not be OK with their kid having a toy gun. One's good for the imagination and fighting toy-to-toy, the other is for kids shooting each other. The parents that are fine with the NERF guns would be fine with a gun Transformer, but the one that doesn't would probably pass on the Transformer as well. It's an easier sell to sneak in the gun mode than to broadcast the gun alt mode.

I just realized something. Without the legends class size class we might not be getting the minibots like Bumblebee and Cliffjumper in Cybertronian forms. Which makes me slightly sad because I would have loved if we had gotten a Wheeljack and Bumblebee combo that could work together like the scene in MTMTE. Though, I don't know if they could have really gotten Wheeljack's van mode right with the need to make the robot mode look like it turns into a race car

Since they're following the robot mode scale that they started with Studio Series, and SS Bumblebee and Jazz are basically Legends sized bots, I could see a Siege Bee being a tiny bot with a super complex transformation to make up the price.

I once saw a mother throw a hissy fit in a Dollar store because her son wanted a toy sword and gun and she proceeded to lecture him that if he wanted a gun he should wait till he's an adult and then "join the army to murder people" and then "she'll disown him". Some parents are ridiculously moralizing and believe anything remotely 'violent' will turn their child into a violent killer! And not their crappy parenting or anything... :HEADHURTS:

Honestly I was planning to buy Shockwave and just headcannon it so that he had built the armor to let him fight off his more dangerous creations, but now I'm definitely gonna get him just because I love the idea that he decided that it would be more fun easier to just clone himself, kill the clone and build armor out of him, and then just repeat the process until he had the new armor

Depending on how you look at it, with Shockwave being associated with being a 'mad scientist' these days one could assume thia additional armored bulk is basically the prototype to later combination and super mode technologies: in this case, starting by crudely combining with a non-sentient drone unit rather than a full-blown individual.

Hey maybe it's the prototype to Weaponizer technology in the toyline's micro-continuity! /fanwank

But Nerf IS a Hasbro toy franchise, and has been since 1991 iirc. Wouldn't that invalidate that particular argument. That said, it is still valid that the Megatron toy was just too close to a real gun and caused a lot of problems.

But they did release the Classics figure that had the gun mode in 2006. And the Reveal the Shield legends class one in 2010. And more recently re-released the Classics mold in 2016 for the Platinum Edition One Shall Stand, One Shall Fall set. While I do approve of Hasbro's decision to turn Megatron into a tank rather than a gun (mostly cause it always annoyed me that his alt mode was for one of his subordinates to use), they don't seem to be opposed to releasing gun mode Megatrons

A lot can change in a few years: different corporate higher ups with different tastes and leaning could easily declare 'we don't do gun Transformers' anymore. It could be anything, even if I'm personally always more of a fan of tank or jet-based Megatrons. >:oP

Do you recall the weirdo petition against Thundercracker being aracist? ("T" cracker). You get all sort of weirdos out there.

Btw, it's okay to have "Targetmasters" who are technically weapons (unearthly side arms) in "legends" scale yet bigazz flying Ray guns are a no no.......

All because of the size. Targetmasters are the size of little accessories wielded by the action figures, while big sized gun-moded figures would be wielded directly by children themselves. No child could hold a teeny tiny Targetmaster in any pose believably realistic enough to make anyone think that they were armed with an actual firearm.

It probably has to do with his altmode being a firearm of any kind at all, period, regardless of how unrealistic and sci-fi it looks, hence why even Sixshot had to have his much less realistic-looking gun form marketed as a non-firearm object (a submarine) altogether.
keep in mind that these same lawmakers also made chainsaw bayonets illegal even though theres no such thing on the market so an obviously not real sci-fi ray gun in obvious toy colors is also illegal

It really has nothing to do with the government. The government is perfectly fine with toy guns as long as they're properly marked. It's about the parents. A lot of parents aren't OK with their kids holding anything resembling a gun of any type. And now that I think about it, schools are also a big factor. Schools these days have a zero tolerance gun policy. There are several news stories of kids being sent home or even expelled for just drawing a picture of a gun. A kid brings Shockwave to school and they're gone.
