i hear ya. i desperately want a V2 MP megs, but ive always loved my MP05. people cant appreciate him for what he is.

Think the proportions on X-Transbots look infinitely superior. However . . . . this is X-Transbots. Last I heard they don't have the best track record.

I was a lil offended but it's all good I know that MP05 is a bad toy but I just love it still. Ofcouse I want a new MP megs that scales but I'm not just going to buy the first one that comes out... not from this company. and Truthfully I like the headsculpt better on MP05.

Horses for courses, I never really liked MP-05, far too lancky and from what I've heared the QC was all over the place. To be fair I never owned it so I guess it's one of those figures you can only truly appreciate when you have omned it. For me Apollyon ticks all the boxes.

i never had much for QC problems on my MP05 (though he's been in a box for years, so if he has the rust problem i dont know). for, theres no greater QC offender than MP09 roddy. ive got three and counting.

Yeah I've heared that, I'm just dipping my toe into the MP line at the moment, just out of interest which Roddy's to you have? I had the idea of buying a Hasbro and a Takara one and parts swapping the problem areas is this worth doing or am I fooling myself.

That would be a tremendous waste of money.
The Hasbro version is made from Version 2, the fixed version, which Takara used for a second run and apparently the Black version as well.
I have the Hasbro version, and after owning it, I don't want to know what the original first run of the Tak version was like. Seriously.
This thing is such a waste of plastic and space. Best option, that is if you absolutely want one, would be to get the Japanese one. Sure it's more expensive and it'll break, but at least the paint won't be shite.
I heard the wing gets chipped on the Japanese version due to the way he combines with his trailer, but the Hasbro one uses the kind of paint Hasbro loves - the kind that hates plastic and will just fall of the moment you breath in its general direction. The only thing the Hasbro version is good for is for its accessories; The Matrixes, the guns and the Targetmaster (but be careful, mine came incorrectly assembled, the pin that connected his waist to his body was incorrectly forced in, meaning that he can't transform into his gun mode properly, and looks stupid in bot-mode.

Seriously, this thing sucks so much, he makes MP05 seem like a the greatest thing ever.

MP05 is pretty good, he has a great transformation and looks kinda good in person, not as good as Apollyon, but I like him. The toy does not deserve half of the complaints it gets. People complain about the joints and how they may get too weak and not really support his fusion cannon - but after all this time, his joints still click, he can still hold his fusion cannon. And MP Rodimus's shoulder joints exploded within a month, just from having his arms hang down.

As far as I know, the Takara version had fragile leg panels and the scraping issue on the wing, but it didn't have the extra issues the Hasbro version had (so his shoulders won't explode).

everything DM says is right... only, if you want an MP09 you might have your work cut out for you. i tried tracking down a V2 last year and it was quite difficult. the majority of the takara roddys on the market are V1's.

i have a takara V1 (broken shin panel), hasbro (broken foot), and a takara V2 (not broken, but never TF'd and barely posed).

Thanks guys, I think I'll pass (for now at least) and concentrate on the good stuff. Back on topic, what are people's thoughts on the gun scale on Appolyon? Does he look any smaller than MP Megs? Only he still looks a little oversized in the pics I've seen.

It looks a little over sized but i seriously couldn't care less about gun scale it still looks good , its all about the robot mode for me and they have done an excellent job.

So who's committed to Apollyon then ? My pre orders all payed up .

Last I checked, Rodimus V2 was going for $350+ (and that was a year and a half ago). No idea what kind of price it most go for now, if it shows up.

If you really want a decent take at the mold, get the eHobby Black Version. He looks badass, the paint is sweet, trailer's included, and he's much cheaper. Should give you a good idea of what you're getting into. I've had no issues with mine as of yet (but he was only out of the box briefly).

Really? I like the KFC Reflector design better, but it's KFC. So a 3P MP virgin I shall remain.

I pre ordered through Omegalock yesterday, gotta say the pricing on this guy is very impressive, he's cheaper than MP-10! I think that's a smart move on X-Transbots part, they could have slapped pretty much any price they wanted on this guy and people would have bought it, great to see him so competitively priced.

Ha nice one! Got mine ordered from omegalock too , i was going to with Masterforce being the cheapest but with their buy at your own risk policy on Apollyon i didn't want to risk any broken or missing parts and not getting any replacement parts never mind a replacement figure .
