Fellow Seibertron.com member fenrir72 has been keeping an eye on a regular news source, Hong Kong-based fan Stanley Cheung, and spotted two new prototype images after yesterday's Combiner Wars Combaticons: upcoming Voyager Scattershot! Check out below how the figure will differ from previous mold Silverbolt, refresh your memory on its almost finalised look for Betatron's torso and let us know what you think in the Energon Pub.

meh ... seems too similar to Silverbolt for my liking.

He has exactly five remolded parts. The head, each wing, the cockpit, and the vertical stabilizer. Not even remotely worth it. Unfortunately, they are probably going to release the rest of the Technobots at some point (probably with a retool/repaint of Deluxe Groove as Afterburner), so then I will end up needing this waste of plastic to complete him.

Interestingly enough,

The combiner head isn't included in the prototype.

Normally you'd see the antennae poking out of just under Silverbolt's/Scattorshot's chest, but there's just empty holes there.

If the head was just a straight-up repaint of Superion, I don't see why it would be excluded from the Prototype. Just some food for thought.

From the figures shown at Botcon, the combiner head IS just a straight up recolor of Superion's head. And by recolor I mean...not changed at all.

Here's hoping then that they HAVE changed the combiner head and just haven't updated the cover tab to close in the antennae holes.

One can only hope. It would bring his parts changed to six in an era of complete reshells. >:oP

Well, no. The head shown at Botcon wasn't even a recolor. It was just Superion's head. I said it then and I'll say it now: the head shown at Botcon was a placeholder because they hadn't designed an actual Computron/Betatron head yet.

My issue with this is not that he only has 7 new parts (some of them halves), it's that 6 of them are only visible in vehicle mode, and none of them appear in combined mode. Even assuming they're sculpting a new combiner head, that still leaves the combined mode as an almost exact copy of Superion.

Cyclonus differs from Silverbolt by at least 19 mold pieces, and I'm sure they're figuring he's more popular and worth more tooling costs, but they really should at least make 2 more parts to give Betatron/Computron a different chestpiece.

This right here. I think many people just jump to conclusions way too quickly when it comes to things like this

He almost resembles WFC Megatron's alt mode...

Not sure about that. It seemed to be a slight recolour with black being under his eyes instead of silver paint, the antennas are more orange as well:

You guys can hope all you want, I will just stick to reality that a toy coming out end 2015/beginning 2016 was actually already finished. Do you guys really think Hasbro would not do this?

Image this is the official product image released by Hasbro, you can clearly see that the colors are quite different than the mock up we saw at comic con.

That is a 3d rendering. There are many instances of colours not pannig out that way. It isnt an official pic of the actual physical toy. Look man, I am not looking to argue, but I am really encouraging you do not get your hopes up.

Hasbro said a few things at SDCC that continues to give me hope that we're getting a new head on Computron and that we'll be getting the rest of the Technobots.

I hate to say it but it makes sense that they're reusing Superion's head. They already had near identical heads already. I would have preferred it if they would have redone it to have a mouth but more importantly I really wish they would have redone the chest area on the combined mode. While they can get away with using the same head (hopefully in a different color) Superion and Computron do NOT have similar looking chest.

Exactly, CW has only re-used 3 heads, combiner and regular, and that was a/b and vortex, o/p and battle core, and as of now q/s and blast off; even the lazy o/p had a new bot mode head. So out of a year and a halfs worth of figures there've been three re-hashed heads, so logic dictates that in all likelyhood we will get a new head for computron.

Plus the figure in display definitely looked like a prototype, so there's that.
