I'm not sure what you're talking about: you can change the colours of your characters already. Just go to the 'Edit' section of your character's profile.

Soooo, it's actually better to create a couple of more bots now, before the reset, because after the reset you'll only have just enough energon to buy 5 bots...

One of the reasons why hazards such as mine fields etc. would be a nice addition is because intelligence could actually play a role here, the more intelligent your bot is the less likely it is to get trapped in hazards.
