So, anyway, hands up who else spent 6 hours DL'ing 'The Lost and Damned' for GTA4 last night but was only able to play it for 10 mins before having to go to bed to get up for work the next day?

I was MIA

Too busy with university stuff and after the reset of last year i kinda lost interest. But some days ago i knew about V2 is comming so i wanted to come back to warm up for it ^^.

Just read up on it, not impressed that it's a "Games for Windows - Live". Contrary to popular belief, not everyone has a super fast connection and some people actually like playing against the computer. :-(

well, the W:L part is only there for the "Trophies and Achievements" it's basically the Xbox gamerscore and achievements for windows. they get added to your account as a seperate game, but you can't distinguish which version you played on your gamertag (though they DID add (PC) to flatout UC.

so yes, you can still play the game singleplayer and no, it doesn't necessarily use M$ gameservers.

I have GTA4 for the PC, and it wont let you bloody save without being logged on for Games for Windows Live... Have Rockstar/Microsoft forgotten that not all gamers have a decent net connection? (Luckily I have.)[/color]

I see it also requires Vista with SP 1.

it will just say "signed in to Windows Live (offline)"
I can do it with my 360 account and have no problems with either.

Agreed, Micro$oft are theives, but Xbox live is worth it for being able to shoot the French on Halo3!

No idea. On my time zone I ever see are Europeans and kids cutting school so its more than satisfying to blow their heads of with a sniper rifle.

No, you do have to be online. There's no signed in offline mode on the PC...

WHich proved somewhat of a problem, seeing as the game had issues with the most recent update to WLfG when I installed it (the game was unable to install it, and the manual instal was getting ignored by the game...).

I got it working *eventully*, but I damn well nearly gave up and returned the stupid game.

Once you get into it though, I like it, sure, running is poopy, but who buys GTA games for the running aspect?

Wasting time is why I got HMW and WoW on my lap top and Little Big Planet currently in my PS3, Mercs 2 or CoD:WaW in my 360, Fire Emblem:SD in my DS, and a whole bunch of old games DLed on my Wii.
