Ever more interesting is that "Destron" is used and not "Destrons". Japanese has no separate form for plural, so "Destron" is both singular and plural, depending on syntax.

To be fair, the phrasing of "6 TECHNOBOTS Figures" technically (no pun intended) isn't incorrect English. It's like how we say "I have lots of Transformers figures" instead of "I have lots of Transformer figures". Some proper nouns can get away with using the plural form in a singular manner like that. Frankly, I think the use of "6 Destron figures" does sound better than "6 Destrons figures" and wish the use of "Technobots" had likewise been "Technobot" so as to have avoided its raising this confusion that we're currently discussing.JelZe GoldRabbit wrote:Sabrblade wrote:Now that we have a closer look at the packaging, we can see that it says (in English) "6 DESTRON Figures", which is grammatically correct for English rather than trying to using the Japanese singular/plural neutrality (which, if it had been the case, would have sounded rather weaboo-ish to me).JelZe GoldRabbit wrote:Sabrblade wrote:I recall that being discussed during the SDCC coverage, yes.william-james88 wrote:Has anyone mentioned how Liokaiser's components are called Destron? Can't call them the "Breastforce" in Hasbro's markets, I guess.william-james88 wrote:Pretty interesting from hasbro especially since these were japan only characters/toys. meaning that they were indeed only ever Destron![]()

I knew you'd bring that point up. So, I'll raise you this:

Ironhide, my favorite G1 character and his eternal flame![]()

In fact, it's not hard to believe Motormaster is the actual original, with Prime as the retool, just released first (same thing happened with Alternators Smokescreen en Silverstreak).
True, there's been no indication that OP will have a limb team.
However, I could see them doing an homage to this guy:
