Here's an interesting rumor that sounds pretty damn cool to me. There's a little too much information here to make me think this is just a rumor. I'll let you decide whether you think this is fact or fiction ...
One of my dormmates was recently hired by the company that is going to be publishing the new Transformers comics. They are still deciding how to properly deal with the G1 and BW comics, so they are not yet ready to make the announcement. But they ARE planning to do both series at some point, as well as Cybertron comics.
The Cybertron comics have a rather interesting plan, that is reflective of today's comic book markets. since Armada & Energon were flops at the direct market, the Cybertron series will be focused to book stores and department stores like Wal-mart as the primary method of getting to the public. (Diamond will still be selling the comics however, so no worries there, ok.)
The format will undergo a radical change from comicdom's "norm". They are done with the 32-page monthly format. Instead we will see 64-paged oversized graphic albums every two months. (Oversized, as in European standard, like the Titan Marvel UK reprints.) There is even some talk of offering hardcover editions to a certain large retail chain. Unlike periodicals, each book will be kept in print and in circulation for the duration of the series. They will be treated as books, rather than as comics.
In fact, it was this proposal that apparently got them the license to begin with, as Hasbro was unhappy that children had to venture into comic book shops for their TF comic fix.
Each numbered album will be a complete story, retelling some bits from the Cybertron cartoon where it needs to, but mostly it will expand upon the characters and situations.
Unlike every other TF comic & cartoon, this will be a direct tie-in to the show. Same continuity, but with a focus that adds to the overall story. Each issue with a specific world, with a big epic wrap-up album at the end.
Simon Furman will write all six albums, with several of the old DW artists returning to draw them.

2005 Board member Shaun_C emailed Brian Savage of the Transformers Collector's Club in regards to the 2005 Convention, and received this response:
It is coming to you in the April newsletter. So 4 weeks from now. That
will give you almost 6 months lead time (give or take a week or two).
Brian
Great news, indeed!

Take a gander at
this auction for what very well may be prototypes for the upcoming Legends of Cybertron line. You can see Hot Shot, Starscream, and Prime, in both robot and vehicle mode, and they look to be about 4 inches tall.

Here's some interesting news from Jason Danvers to start your Monday morning off right ...
A few bits of news:
According to Hasbro's reps at Toy Fair Devil's Due has the TF comic license.
They also mentioned that at the insistance of pretty much everyone involved, Voicebox will NOT be back for the regionization of Galaxy Force. It will be done in a studio in L.A. who already has begun casting. Susan Blu is already involved, but that was the only name the specified.
Some Armada/Energon actors will be back, though a couple have chosen not to sign back on. And we will hear a few familiar voices from previous TF shows as well. Mostly from RiD, with a couple of G1 vets. They're REALLY excited about who they got to play Scourge, but it's a surprise they don't want to get out till the episode actually airs.
The script for the TF OVA for 2006 is being handled by Marv Wolfman, who wrote the first several drafts of the 1986 TF movie, as well as being a story editor on the original show. Wolfman is most famous for being the co-creator of the Blade in the 70s for Marvel and the New Teen Titans comic book in the early 80s for DC.
Don't forget to check out this week's latest Caption Contest picture: Quintessons in transport vehicle as well as today's Transformers motto located at the bottom of each page.
Happy Monday!

You might remember it was
reported in December that Toy's Dream Project were creating an exclusive repaint of SC-16 Ariel which was only described as "colors of the past".
TFormers now have an image of this repaint that apears to have been painted like the 'Heroes of Cybertron' PVC figure 'Paradron Medic'. View the image
here. The figure will be limited to 3,000 units, retail at 1,500 Yen each, and should be available in March 2005.

I like to think that I'm 'in the loop' as to what is happening with Transformers in general, and I had never heard of this before today. It seems that our prayers have been answered and we will in fact get a Masterpiece trailer in correct proportions to the 20th Prime/Masterpiece Convoy toy. The preorders for the Trailer can be found here:

the seller is located in HongKong. The item is made of PVC and is a HONGKONG Limited edition (whatever that means). The release date is either March 7th or March 31st, depending on the seller. Only time will tell if this is even real.
