Transformers: SIEGE Deluxe Greenlight and Battle Master Dazlestrike Video Review!

We've got a treat for you, fellow Seibertronians! Our own member Dannshinigami has let us know that YouTube channel TonTon Review has uploaded another video of an upcoming Transformers: War for Cybertron Trilogy - SIEGE figure. This time, it's Deluxe Class Greenlight and her new Battle Master partner, Dazlestrike! Greenlight and Dazlestrike will not be sold at regular retail, but instead are likely to be an exclusive set. We're still waiting to hear exactly how this set will be made available for purchase.

TonTon shows off the molding and coloring detail of Greenlight, a retool and repaint of Power of the Primes Deluxe Class Moonracer and Novastar. As such, Greenlight retains the combiner limb functionality first established with the Combiner Wars line. She can become an arm or leg for any Combiner Wars or Power of the Primes compatible Voyager Class combiner torso. TonTon demonstrates the conversion of Greenlight from Cybertronian car to robot, along with how to configure her for arm and leg mode. Dazlestrike is a repaint of SIEGE Battle Master Lionizer, featuring new green paint apps, and a new orange fire slash effect (differently sculpted from Lionizer's blue sword slashing effect). Greenlight also comes with the "Prime Armor" accessory that Power of the Primes Deluxe Class figures all featured. This piece can become a hand for arm mode, be used as chest armor in robot mode, or configured in other imaginative ways to form an additional weapon or shield. Greenlight doesn't come with any other dedicated weapon accessories, like the guns that came with her mold-mates Moonracer and Novastar.

Of course, TonTon also gives us a few size comparisons for Greenlight in both vehicle mode and robot mode. Of note, we can see that SIEGE Deluxe Class Chromia is a bit shorter in robot mode than Greenlight (and presumably Moonracer and Novastar). Even better, though, we get another teaser of SIEGE Deluxe Class Ironhide, who appears to be substantially taller and bulkier than Greenlight in robot mode, meaning that Ironhide may indeed be a larger than usual Deluxe Class figure in this line, further confirming that Hasbro and Takara Tomy are taking robot mode scale very seriously in War for Cybertron: SIEGE. Take a look at the video below and enjoy!

Are you excited for this upcoming special release in the War for Cybertron: SIEGE line? We seem to be one step closer now to completing a combiner entirely consisting of characters from Elita One's team from the original G1 cartoon episode "The Search for Alpha Trion." Tell us what you think of this exclusive offering from Hasbro in the comments below, and keep tuned to Seibertron.com for the latest news on all things Transformers!

I managed to get in an order for this fig on Amazon.ca before it got de-listed. The estimated delivery is July 8-12. Looks like it may be a while until the common fan gets their hands on her.

I'm looking forward to this one!

What couldn't they have made Dazlestrike a different color?

Bizarre discovery of this morning - Cog's tank treads are adjustable. Each leg has three pegs, and each tread has 7 matching holes, allowing you to take the treads off and put them back on in different ways.

At this point I think I've decided I'm not going to build the Elita combiner (if only becaues I don't want to pay more for Novastar than what she is worth) but I think I'll still get this, since her colors should complement Moonracer's nicely when they are both arms.

Yeah, I tried on mine and they wouldn't budge, doesn't seem like they're meant to come off :-?

Hmm? Mine popped right off. Interesting discovery Caelus! ;)^

And while I'm here. I picked up both Leaders this week. I've been pining for Magnus since he was revealed. Love him!
Really liking all the armor bits on Shockwave too. Adds a nice new fun dimension of play.
I'm also really liking all the sculpted techno greeble. Gives a nice Vector Prime vibe.

Here's the best I could manage. Mine came off the first time because the 5mm peg on the otherside gripped Optimus's back more tightly than the three pegs on Cog's leg gripped the tread.

It may be they aren't supposed to come off (after all, they don't use 5mm or 3mm ports), but it's odd they'd put 7 holes on something attached to 3 pegs. My only other thought is that they might intend to reuse the tread piece in other figures where the treads might be placed differently.

Here's 1 guess on the 7 holes vs 3 pegs, I wonder if they use the same tread part for Brunt, but they attach using the center 3 holes instead of the 3 holes on one side or the other for Cog.

Edit: After a further look, that notch means there is a left tread and a right one, so the mystery continues, but I still suspect they may re-use this for Brunt and that is why the extra holes are there.

The treads on Brunt's thighs look very similar to the ones on Cog's lower legs, but they don't look like the same piece to me.

Yeah, I just saw that on tfwiki. No clue on any of it now.

But shockwave is Voyager sized. Sightly shorter than Megatron so he's still in scale.

Notably, the default position for the treads on Cog is 'off center', sticking the three pegs into one end of the tread piece. Molding the treads with 7 holes across the back of both pieces instead of three holes at different ends of each piece has the consequence of making the treads interchangeable between the left and right legs.

So, this may just be a case of Hasbro simplifying their assembly line by using two of the same piece rather than creating two different, specialized pieces. There'd be no worry about factory workers swapping the left and right pieces because they're fully identical, and why bother gluing down pieces on a figure that's supposed to be disassembled?

Edit: Crap, I see what you mean about the notch. I am baffled then.

So, I'm trying to weaponize alternate modes... not sure I'm really doing it 'right'.

Those 7 holes seem to correspond to the tread rollers molded into the other side. Its possible that is a byproduct of how the part is cast? Eother that or like was suggested, the part is shared with Brunt and the holes are vedtigal for that use.

On another note: On one of the CW Stunticon HFGs, the one with the 2 toes, has a center peg and two tiny little pegs sticking out at the bottom of each toe? Yeah, that center peg fits the Siege Blast effect. I keep meaning to snap a pic. The gun for C× Brawl also looks like it might take the Firedrive blast.

Since Siege is so G1-centric, I wonder if there will be any as-yet unannounced exclusives on the way commemorating the 35th anniversary of G1. Or should we just consider the entire line as a commemoration?
