Following notification from several Seibertron.com members, theoriginalzero on Twitter has posted an image that appears to be the first look at Leader Class Cybertron Optimus Prime from the Generations War for Cybertron: Siege lineup. This Leader Class figure appears to utilize a similar "inner" robot to Ultra Magnus, and comes with the appropriate armor pieces to utilize an upgraded form straight from 2006:

While this is not a confirmed release from Hasbro, it looks pretty certain given this and some of the vestigial parts on Voyager Class Optimus Prime and Leader Class Ultra Magnus that this latest Siege Leader Class figure will help you find the Cyber Planet Keys before the Decepticons can use them for evil! Awesome, just really cool. No point in getting a 3rd party Masterpiece version, cuz this looks like it will have all the articulation and features that a Masterpiece-esque version would have.

Looks cool. I love the UT, Cybertron most of all, and it is time they got some more love, Armada had a few CHUG figures, Energon Prime got a homage with Combiner wars prime, along with Ginari, and it's time for cybertron to have it's revival.

I don't even like Transformers: Cybertron, but this figure looks like a lot of fun. This is probably the most unique Optimus Prime figure we'll be getting this year. I really wan it, but weather or not I need it is another story. It's tough because I really want to get into the Siege, but I also am a huge collector of the Studio Series and these toys ain't cheap. I guess I'll have to just wait and see.

t's just occurred to me, we've had 2 prime leaks, when're we gonna see Omega? we saw the unpainted tank prototype back in October i think, but when are we gonna see the full figure. For that matter when is the next major convention? I'm guessing that's when figures like this and SS-38 (is that right, the Bumblebee Optimus) will be officially revealed by HasTak.

I still have my original Cybertron Optimus, which already was and still is a great figure, so I don't know if I really feel compelled to get this one or not.

This is an older picture from a very old phone camera, so I should take another later - anyways, I'd love to see a Leobreaker in this lineup that is closer to the initial sketches for the character. Source of this is the Galaxy Force Phase Ignition book.

Holy CRAP yes. Cybertron/GF Optimus was one figure I always wanted, so this is pretty much everything I've ever wanted in an Optimus figure.

Hopefully this "SUPER MODE!" will show up in the new IDW comics, since Prime uses the inner robot anyway.

Provided this is, y'know, actually real. :-s

This reminds me of the non-Beast Mode concept art in the back of The Gathering/Ascending (and Hearts of Steel). Sometimes this concept art really highlights how ...unimaginative, the final release product on the shelves can by.

What I would be more excited for would be an arm mode as it looked like in the initial sketches

iirc, Leobreaker was a victim of Takara's financial troubles at that time. Couldn't take a chance on another Ultra Class and OP upgrades were moreso their thing than Hasbro's. Galaxy Force was their last line before the Tomy merger, as more circumstantial evidence of this.

Ugh imagine UW Devastator but with an umlimited budget for Hasui to go full hog MP with it. Or MP Huffer/Drag who never got made to go with MP-10. The Generations Deluxe book is also painful to look at, has a trove of some amazing late G1 concepts that never saw the light of day!

because Galaxy Force made his name differently, also Sonic Bomber. (Wing Saber)

Some people got to see Galaxy Force fansubbed in English by TV-Nihon before Cybertron starting airing on TV in English, and so prefer to use the Japanese names instead.

That would be nice and could be retooled in a BEAST WARS character like Cheetor for example. But I already have the original Cybertron OP and this one doesn't look as cool as the original to me. I really don't like Magnus' proportions and he totally has those.
I have Movie (2007) Power of the Allspark Wingblade (Cybertron Wingsaber recolor),too. The combination mode of him and Prime is awesome. If they do that again I'll rethink it but as for now Leader SIEGE Prime's a pass for me.

Galaxy Force/Cybertron was when I stopped collecting initially. I watched the show, but never got the toys. I planned on getting Primus, (even had it Literally in a shopping cart at Target back in 2006), but since I was selling my whole collection, I figured it was kind of pointless...

However...Seeing the design for Siege Leader Prime and people mentioning Ligerjack/Leobreaker. How incredible would it be *if* somehow they integrated the CW system and created a Leobreaker Deluxe or Voayger that could connect with Siege Leader Prime? I seriously doubt it will happen, however :TAKARATOMY:

was able to use the system with the legs on Legends God Bomber, so it isn't impossible, however I seriously doubt Hasbro would be that creative considering cost cutting seems to trump creativity.

That's unfortunate. Legends was the last bastion of hope for some really creative releases. I mean Things like the Select Series & Greenlight are cool and all, but I don't see :HASBRO:

doing anything major like a Metrotitan from Metroplex etc..

GIVE IT TO MEEEEE!! I love Cybertron Optimus Prime, I have him and the Galaxy Force version. I'll buy this on sight.

I hope his inner robot has the long rear truck section like the Cybertron Leader, but I'll take it regardless.

I like this a lot, even by the fake truck kibble on his shoulders :lol:

the line needs more ideas like these. Plus it's clear that this is a completely different take on the character compared to the voyager one.

Stressing about finding Shockwave at retail? I'm still stressing about the fact the Siege line has yet to hit any retail around me. lol. Believe me, I've been looking. My two local Wal-Marts are still pretty bare after Christmas with Robots in Disguise toys still shelfwarming. My Local Targets are in better shape with some Studio Series and Generations. Finally managed to get Optimal Optimus. But Siege? Haven't hit shelves yet, unless they have and all sold out instantly.

If we're talking about GIANT Transformers, I have another suggestion:

As for Galaxy Convoy, he's 100% an instant buy for me. I don't own anything from the Unicron Trilogy and have tried to get anything from the series, rather it be a version of Hot Shot, or Override, etc. Seeing this gives me a good amount of hope that we can expet to see more characters from other generations of the Transformers and like Thew said: "Justify the S in the name Generations.

and yes i know about the couple of beast wars characters we've gotten as well as armada starscream and megatron, but it be nice to get more than just 7 characters from other series.

are NOT unified. they are still very separate toy companies. They did decide to unify the Transformers brand in that pretty much all releases across all Transformers toy lines will be released the same in Japan as in all other countries Hasbro distributes to.

However this is somewhat of a negative. The uniqueness and upscale price point at which :TAKARATOMY:

would appeal to older collectors with more unique offerings is not the same with Hasbro. I seriously doubt we will ever see a Gradus release. If we do, I'll be happy to be wrong, but without outlets such as the legends line, it just became substantially less likely

Ligerjack is fine, yeah! Heck, Leobreaker's initial working name was Overcast, since it's Overhaul's upgraded form. Isn't it something like: starts as Overhaul/Overcast, someone changes Overhaul to Trailbreaker, this leads to Trailbreaker/Leobreaker, then last minute Trailbreaker went back to being Overhaul and it was too late to change Leobreaker again? Or maybe they just decided not to? Anyway, the name has a fun history, that's for certain!

That's Gaea, a version of the Marvel Comic's Generation 1 Earth and the sister of Primus & Unicron featured in Shattered Glass. She ended up fighting the evil Primus.

As for the idea of swapping the UM armor with Cybertron Prime's armor, I wouldn't get my hopes up. I wouldn't be surprised to see that the armor is incompatible due to the retooling. But then again, who knows?

OH MY GOOD GOSH YES PLEASE. the original was one of the first Transformers I ever owned over 10 years ago, and I still have him. I lost all of his upgrade kibble, but I still have the main bot. When I heard they were repainting UM to be OP, I was completely uninterested since UM satisfied all my needs, and is a great figure. But now that I know it's upgraded cybertron OP, I WON'T BE ABLE TO KEEP MY HANDS OFF HIM. GOSH I LOVE THIS WFC LINE SO MUCH.

Totally called it back in December when we got the artwork reveal: Full Cybertron Prime super mode down to the chest piece.

It was the obvious choice.

It looks quite nice, and kind of reminds me of the THS-01 Galaxy Force Prime for some reason.

Even though I own the original Cybertron Prime, I'm still enticed enough by this to want to get him.

LOL, the more you know. I remember this from a Botcon 2004 T-Shirt (the design on the shirt was more detailed IIRC)...but I thought ti was just something a fan made up.

What upscale price point? The prices have usually been similar between both companies in their respective countries.
I do agree that they had unique offerrings in their legends line, but Hasbro also had such unique offerings, decos, characters and retools in their generations line, which forced Japanese collectors to pay the very big bucks to import.

That probably wasn't the best use of language, my apologies. What I meant was, when it comes to exclusives - while both :HASBRO:

offered them, IMHO, :TAKARATOMY:

's offerings were by far more varied and more frequent, and, as we saw with things like Grand Maximus, they are at times, on a larger scale. I seriously doubt now that Hasbro will offer such frequent and varied exclusives as the :TAKARATOMY:

Legends line did, which is a shame.

I'm very forward about admitting I'm a victim of "Beware what you wish for"...because for a long time I did wish that the releases on both sides would be the same. Only I wished Hasbro would adapt to Takara, not the other way around, which is what we got.
