So here are the images, along with some we already posted before, but please remember that this shows fully painted grey plastic while the finished toy would be a mix of coloured plastic and paint applications, as is always the case.
Here is the main crowdfunding page: https://hasbropulse.com/collections/has ... tory-saber

You can call it what you want, it's still just Star Saber doing the splits.

Does it matter though? I think there is no one out there going “I was gonna back this, but now that I see the base mode looks like it did on the G1 toy, I won’t anymore”

It's not a deterrent but it's funny that they're pushing it, even just as a bonus feature.

I do too but I what I think is that since it will just be molded plastic, it will look better and more detailed than the shot they put there which is just dabbed in blue paint.

Since it's not a deterrent and rather easy to ignore, there is only a possibility of gain by showing all the features this toy has. There's always gonna be a fan that goes "but the G1 toy did that, can this toy do this too?" And yes, it can, here's some extra images about it. Plus I think the real goal here is to show how much the shield adds to this, making the stretch goal even more desired than it may have been before.

I imagine that we wont even get three colors on it when the final product hits. We already know Haslab will cheap out on the final product even though they make massive amounts of cash from the preorders.

Other than the infamous Cookie Monster that didn't fund at all, were there any other Haslab's that didn't meet all their stretch goals? Unfortunately Hasbro's information on past Haslabs is limited. They don't even want to acknowledge their one failure.

I'd be shocked if we didn't get at least three cause the arms can be molded in white, the main body can be molded in red, and the faceplate is molded in a third plastic color, presumably blue for the visor, and the Brainmaster's head is attached to the faceplate. I was just meaning that I'm expecting Titans Return level of paint where details are sculpted, but not highlighted

I'm going on how Hasbro did most of the headmasters, the robot mode at any rate. Most were just two colors of plastic and maybe a little paint on the face. The arms and legs will probably be molded in the same color here.

I’d definitely at least get a set to at least hold and let the value go up. There has yet to have been a HasLab release of anything whose value was less than what it was when it was first offered up.

Based on how ludicrous the price of the G1 originals are, even the KO, and especially the Robo Masters versions, I'm pretty sure Japan will eat it up and contribute to a HUGE number of orders.

Know for a fact? No.
There was a one time jump of 1-2 thousand that had to be some 3rd party retailers and this was around the time TF Source closed their pre-orders. Some of that jump might have been international, but we really don't know.

He clarifies that SS is Leader Class, and Victory Leo is Voyager class, which makes sense. I also love the backstory as Star Sabers design was influenced by Diaclone, as well as Super Robots (not Gundam or *Real Robots* as many fans assume)

That's not exactly what he said. He said he was originally being designed with military robots and Diaclone in mind, but then was altered to be more like a super robot. But really, when you compare the two designs the only difference is they removed a few weapons from his arms and smoothed out some of the details, the overall shape is still there so people aren't entirely wrong to say he resembles a Gundam, because he definitely still does, even more so than the original design.

Ya, he specifically states "traditional Japanese super robot". Which for most people is Gundam. HOWEVER! Gundam wasn't supposed to look like it did in the begining. Like Star Saber it was supposed to be more drab and militaristic, but was changed around to be what we think of a when you say Gundam to have a better appeal for selling toys, with inspiration taken from many other super robots at the time. Meaning, It looks Gundam-esque because just like Gundam before it, it was reworked to be more in line with what Japanese culture associates as traditional super robot.
Regardless, it works, before I even knew what Victory was, even before I read the novelisation of the o.g. Gundam which is what got me into Gundam at all, I saw pictures of this strange and elusive transformer, and it was so striking I immediately wanted one. Eventually getting to watch Victory just sealed the deal as him bing one of my holy grails. He's what Rodimus Prime SHOULD have been. And while I have the MP version that will never be complete without Victory Leo, and a neat bootleg, this is the figure I have been wanting Hasbro to do for years. I've never been so happy to loose a huge was of cash. Next year can't come fast enough. Me want in me grubby little paws NAO
Also love that the same designer behind the MP Star Saber is behind this one. While not perfect, MP SS was ahead of it's time, with hidden butterfly joints, ab crunch and even little waist tilt from side to side.

Did you read my post above?
Gundam is part of a whole anime sub genre called "Real Robots" which includes franchises such as Macross, Votoms etc..
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mecha_ani ... Real_robot
"Super Robots" are a different sub genre altogether that goes all the way back to the first Tetsujin 28 (Gigantor) and are Robots, usually piloted, with Super Powers and are considered to be super heroes in their own right. This is where Mazinger Z, Getter Robo and even Go Lion (Voltron) come from. at 1:51 in the video "Super Robot" is in caps and quotes, so he is very specifically referring to this subgenre of anime, not as a generic term.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mecha_ani ... uper_robot
The design started out more militaristic, then became more more superhero like stated at 2:31, thus making SS look even less like a "realistic" Robot or Gundam by comparison.
I can definitely see the Super hero/ Super Robot aspect of Star Saber.
But then again. Some other people mistake Transformers and Gundam so I guess it's ok.

Guessing you didn't read all of mine. Probably made it too long winded and poorly worded. Was commenting that Gundam went through a similar redesign to star saber, and that gundam, like star saber, was re-designed to look more like the traditional super hero robots of the time in the hope they could merchandise it. Gundam looks like Gundam for the same reason that star saber looks like star saber. But Gundam has become so iconic that some people seeing any similarities will immediately associate it with Gundam. Kind of like how most people I know call bandages "Band-Aids" even though band-aid is just one brand of bandages. Or how I used to think when I was a kid that any robot with a face mask look to them was an obvious rip off of Optimus Prime.
Which is why I picked up Gundam for the first time. I thought the Gundam on the cover, rx-78 looked like a white and blue Optimus prime and wanted to read the book
Edit: I should also mention my mom, because to her any to robots of any kind were called Go-bots.

With 5 1/2 days left, we shall see what happens. Again, I'm not sure if any other Haslab that successfully funded hasn't achieved all it's stretch goals, but we shall see. I dont believe this myself, but I'm already seeing the conspiracy theorists online saying that Hasbro might lowball the actual orders so they don't have to make the stand or shield/micromasters.

Hero quest didn't achieve its final stretch goal. however they were throwing stretch goals at that one on the fly because of how insanely good it was doing. Kept skyrocketing.
BUT... I recently got an email on that one that basically said for all mythic tier backers, screw it your getting that last stretch goal anyway.
I also think Unicron had more things planned for stretch goals, but they kinda had to fudge things to make that one go through I think, so they didn't bother.

Also it's worth noting that Takara's still taking orders. They close orders earlier on the same day Hasbro does, so we'll see a surge there regardless. If my understanding is correct, this was just Hasbro Taiwan's numbers that have been added because they closed their orders today

I could have sworn it was over 13,300 before I fell asleep night. But for the sake of argument, lets split the difference, say it was 13,250. After the bump it was 14,500 (thus a difference of 1,250) *a little over 1000* I would say is an accurate assessment yes?
Epsilon Delta wrote:I kind of want to back this just so it hits it's goals. No real attachment to the character, but it seems cool enough. A Titan Majin Zarak would be total wish fulfilment for me. I don't know how many times I've posted t in the "Toys you would like to see but Hasbro/TT will never make" thread.
But yeah, a toy like that would probably cost somewhere in the $400 range I'm guessing, and probably require at least 15,000 backers, which is the issue, I don't think that many people in the world would back it, though I'd back it day one for sure.

I couldn't remember the exact number, my point was the bump was mid-morning, not overnight (otherwise I would have posted excitedly about it first thing, even before checking my work emails).
