Having already the Cliffjumper, I had no needs for the previous "computer mouse" Bee. But not only this one have the right head and better colors, some tolerance issues have been fixed too.
I'll be getting this one. Will look pretty damn nice next to my old Gen. WfC (game) Bee.

I was pretty meh about the original release (I like the design but the legs are a real pain and it has a hard time standing), but it seems like the legs and ability to stand are better, and the new yellow is nice.

I'm seeing people speculate this is for Buzzworthy so yes it's a separate release.
I'm just hoping we get an equally dope Cliffjumper re-release in Buzzworthy, I skipped both Cliffy and B-127 on their first release thinking they were a one off but after seeing the pics of PvP's stolen Wheeljack I want all these Cybertronian Autobots from Bumblebee. Praying that a Cybertronian Optimus is in the pipeline as well because he's the only one not leaked at the moment but neither was this new B-127 so there's hope.

This seems too different to just be a running change for SS70. It would be a perfect fit for Selects, but since there hasnt been any SS Selects yet, it may be part of some other subline? Maybe another Universal Studios exclusive? That way they could give it another SS number.

Arguably that precedent is 23 years old. They did do that in the Movie lines though

That's not what some leakers are saying. This may be a seperate release. We'll see.

It all depends on what product number they're given, really. During Beast Wars Hasbro did experiment with variants like shown above, with the caveat they have the same product number. We may see them as different, but to the stores at least they're the same product, be it black or white. Hasbro pulled that stunt again with the RiD Mini-Con 4-packs all sharing the same product code, despite having different contents.
Straight re-releases like ER Astrotrain, Kingdom Arcee and Kingdom Leader Optimus Prime, despite looking the same as their predecessors, should be noted as while it's expected for them to keep their product codes, their original assortments and their codes were discontinued, so new codes were assigned.

You should hunt it down. I'm sure that if you conveniently ignore the shipping cost, it's dirt cheap on Ebay. Maybe as part of a large lot? It would be fun to see yours and the original side by side.
I once got Retcon Barricade in a lot for dirt cheap. A lot yellowed by cigarette with the smell that goes with it.

I'm sure most people here believe that there are simply too many Bumblebee toys in the market too. I'm not the minority here.

They really are beating a dead horse with how many there are by now. It's crazy.
Yeah, hopefully at least some people out there are happy about it
I've yet to see a single bumblebee figure that I consider worth picking up. Only one that's tempted me has been the buzzworthy saucer bee

Bumblebee just seems so much more popular than Optimus and I've no idea why.

Because the character has always had that air of being "younger and inexperienced" which kids can relate to. Optimus has always been the experienced leader which Bumblebee, and kids, look up to.
Plus Hasbro have done a pretty good job of shoving BB into the collective eyeballs of fans and non-fans alike.

I suppose so. I'm surprised that, in any of the latest TF media franchises they've had, that they didn't make BB drones, so some of us would then want to troop-build a swarm of them...

Yeah but in all fairness, the cartoons you watched growing up were meant to sell toys, not have relatable characters.

Yet I related to several of the ones with more admirable traits like Optimus Prime, or Superman just fine.
Also I watched pretty much every action based cartoon from the late 70's to early 2000's, yet only ever collected 2 lines as toys (MOTU and Transformers). I now own most of the cartoons via physical media, because I actually liked the shows way more than the toys. If the goal was ONLY to ever sell toys, then with me they failed, as I never bought a single Voltron, GI Joe, Thundercats, MASK, TMNT, The Real Ghostbusters etc. toys. But I enjoyed all the shows. Also, if I ever find myself in financial difficulties it will be my toys that I sell FIRST, before any physical media, as they are the easiest to part with.
Basically, the "80's cartoons were just 22 minute toy commercials" statement is defintely beating a dead horse. Yes that was defintely a strong factor, I'm not denying that. But in spite of all of that, they brought together some extremely talented writers, actors, and animation styles that are still celebrated today, and I would gladly watch TODAY over anything currently being produced in animation.

That's what Hasbro thought when they killed off Optimus Prime in the Great Toy Massacre of 1986. It seems that good writers can do wonders even with toys.

Child Psychiatrists didn't get paid enough when the movie came out

I know this is all in jest, and I get it. Even the story Flint Dille sometimes mentions (not originated by him) about a kid who allegedly locked himself in a closest because of the "trauma" caused by the death of Prime.
As a kid who saw TF:TM at the age of 10, while I cant speak for every one of my peers, what I can do is relate my own experience. I used to give the common response all the time "yeah I cried"...but that wasn't quite true.
My mom took me to an almost empty Tuesday Matinee following the films opening weekend, along with 2 friends (well one of my closest friends, and one of "his friends" I barely knew). When Prime died on screen I was misty-eyed for sure, but definitely held it in out of fear of being teased by my friends sitting next to me.
I'm certain my mom never wrote any angry letters to Hasbro, in fact, amazing as this sounds, I don't think my mom and I ever had a discussion about the movie, which was odd because we always discussed movies together. She was probably just glad it was over . But no emotional scars, no therapy. It was just a thing that happened. Perhaps a core memory (to borrow from Inside Out), for sure of something awesome and tragic at the same time, but certainly nothing that stifled the growth my myself or any of my circle of friends, and we all went on to see TF:TM Many times once it was released on VHS in 1987.
Sorry for the partial derailing of the thread, just had to clear the air on that one.
As for SS, I was thinking, SS48 is just a Universal Studios straight up repaint of SS34. Also several of the Exclusive Bumblebees are straight up repaints as well, yet they all had new "SS" number designations.
I'm not going to say it's impossible, but I would be quite perplexed if B127 with the new head came out just as SS65 again...

The Deluxe Autobots look cool. Ravage looks ok, I understand the limitations of the "cassette" alt mode, and cannot make the jaguar look as dynamic as it should. Why they are releasing Shockwave as a core class instead of a voyager or leader still doesn't make sense.

I wonder if not knowing the alt mode makes these easier or harder to design.

Ratchet is o.k.
What the heck does Soundwave transform into exactly?
Ravage looks great, but not sure that is a cassette looks like he's just balled up.

They probably based Core Shockwave's alt mode on Dark of the Moon's Shockwave alt mode to be fair.

That is my guess. Otherwise they would have to navigate the inevitable collision of SS-1 through SS-79 so far with SS86. Oddly enough, there were enough slots to get them right to SS-85 with the first wave next year.

Soundwaves alt mode looks pretty bad unless it has meant to have a purpose and even then, not so sure of it. Ravage looks pretty bad, he was way more zoid/energon looking but I guess the Energon figure could be used instead of him.
Shockwaves just kinda meh, would rather it been like the movie video game alt mode otherwise the other Baynus one SS or not would be the one to go for.
Not liking the new core packaging boxes, kinda hides the size of the figure (like how they exagerated TR Gnaws size) or feels a huge waste of packaging in Ravages case.
Two definite buys for me aint bad for a line I keep uhming and ahming if I should just sell what I have and keep to the other stuff.
