Long believed to be only a rumor, Jetfire and Optimus Prime combining has been proven in a a few different toy and merchandise pictures that we have seen.
The question now is what part will the combined Jetimus Prime play in the new movie? No movie still leaks of the two bots combined yet, so it looks like the plot point surrounding this dynamic duo working together is still locked up safe in the vault.
You can view two images of package cross sell below, and please feel free to discuss what you think about the toys, the combination or the movie.

Wait, I'm also looking closely at the names of Devy's components, and I can't tell if the backhoe says "Demolisher", "Scavenger", or whatever. If we can find out, we can probably get a confirmation on his identity.

Also, weve known the Devastator names for awhile. Demolisher, Rampage, Long Haul, Mixmaster, Hightower, Scrapper. We have box art declaring the wheel-bot Demolisher, the name has been flying around nonstop, and lets be honest, the SCVNGR on the model is probably just an homage. The same site that said its Scavenger said there was 7 components to Devastator instead of six. I think the tally is set.

It's safe to assume that it would be transformed correctly in this image, right?

Let me be the first to say Pee-You to PU-OP, lol, it's a Poo Op... Autobots, transform and hit the john!

A list of Decepticons on Rotten Tomatoes had Demolisher listed separately from the Constructicons.

the combined form looks utterly retarded. so basically they 69 and gross out decepticons? haha sorry. but yeah also wouldnt that plane be ridiculously larger than a truck cab? don't even get me started on the complete blasphemy that is the toy versions of the constructicons/devastator. shame on ANYONE who pays for figures called transformers that dont...transform. Hasbro really expects us to buy versions of constructicons that don't combine, AS WELL AS a set of just their vehicle forms to make what doesn't even remotely compare to a real gestault? I'm getting real scared man. The 07 movie was amazing but it seems that this one will just be gimmicks to try and get us to by these half assed figures. If you love transformers...for the love of the cybertron...don't buy these! DONT!

What exactly do you want it to look like? I'm assuming the whole purpose for them combining is for Prime to have the ability to fly so Jetfire just needs to be his jetpack...And as such, it looks fine to me...Could have been way worse...
The name IS pretty stupid though...I'll give you that...

Actually no it isn't, especially if it's an official Hasbro pic. For some reason their PR department is unable to correctly transform these toys....

Now that I think about it, a backpack formation is a logical choice considering how Jetfire is an old timer and probably needed to do some quick mods to himself in order to get Prime airborne. I like how it has a that "neccessity is the mother of invention" feel.
I think I'm going to pick all of these up at Botcon.

There will be 2 sets of Constructicons: One set combines to form Devastator but the individual vehicles don't transform into robots; the other set doesn't combine but the individual vehicles transform into robots and may have 3rd modes.

It still bothers me that the Devastator set vehicles don't have bot modes. Was it that they absolutely couldn't design a complete functional set? Too lazy to? or just a ploy to milk more money from their customers by having us buy multiple sets of the Constructicons?
Posted by Tristar on April 21st, 2009 @ 11:33am CDT
Hasbro is more than likely going to release two sets of Movie Constructicons the first set will be the nontransformer ones that combine into devastor and the second set will be the ones that don't combine but, turn into robots themselves.
All the above is just speculation on my part.

This part you are spot on. Been confirmed.

He is gorilla like, so can stand on hind legs, but uses forward limbs for locomotion, and for other things (food gathering, massive destruction, whatever?.

"In computer and video games, power-ups are objects that instantly benefit or add extra abilities to the game character."
Gives a new weapon, or transforms the player character into a more aggressive form that increases its attack power or makes some enemies vulnerable.
Super Mario Bros. 3: Several new powerups are used. The Raccoon Leaf turns Mario into Raccoon Mario. The Tanooki Suit (that can only be gained in Houses and certain in-level hidden areas) has the same effect as the Leaf but adds the ability to hide as a statue. There is also a Frog Suit (enhances swimming), a Hammer Bros. suit (can throw hammers), and several assorted jewels.

Hasbro: "Why dont you make Jetfire and Optimus Prime combine so we can sell a leader class Optimus to everybody who already bought one from the first movie ?"
Cant tell if the combined form is worth the extra 40 bucks for a third Optimus since I copped both the original leader and the blue one from the first movie. Please provide larger pics...

My theory is that because Devastator vacuums up objects using his mouth, the mouth needs closer to the ground where the TFs and humans are located. If he stood up straight, the distance between the vacuum and objects would be so great that it would be imprecise.

As for Devastator, I think he might walk like a gorilla--all fours, but also bipedal when necessary.

Cybertron Prime + Wingsaber pull it of better.
I'll pick up Prime, and wait on Jetfire, see if there's a Voyager version, or when he goes on clearance.
Devastator, looks good. Having seen some if the individual robot modes for the constructicons, I'll likely pickup the combining one, and one or 2 of the non combining robots.

GAHAHAHAahaha..haa.. That was hilarious. In all honesty though, I think it's (the toy's combined mode) a fairly good try, given that the keychain indicates alot of 'meshing' to occur in the combination which if were to happen in the toys might make Jetfire extremely fragile what with all the subsequent thin panels. I don't see why everyone's calling the gun a BFG, it doesn't seem fat and bulky enough (looks more like a rifle/railgun to me).
