As many fans predicted, this Fan First Friday has as little new stuff as previous Fan First Fridays, with a big emphasis on toys we already knew were coming. Below is a list and images of all the toys revealed. The screenshots were taken from the TFW2005 site.

Easy, Transformers not having full distribution rights by Hasbro adds a whole other layer.

Has this been the first officially revealed set of Buzzworthy Bee figures? I recall the very first wave just showed up in stores without any sort of reveal. I can't remember if there was even a half-assed facebook/instagram post on the second batch with origins bee or the worlds collide set.

The only one I'm really 'hyped' for is leader Sludge. But alas, this one's not available on Pulse yet. And the way things have normally gone - by the time I get the alert, the pre orders will be sold out.

In any case, looking forward to that one. Glad to see they didn't toss in another unwanted 'mini' figure....

Nothing I need or want, although that RED Knock Out figure reminds me of the Red Lantern character Razer.

You may be right about the preorder, but he'll show up in stores. I'm sure you'll get one if you want it.

I have seen every leader from SS in stores, I'm confident Sludge will be readily available.

Funny thing is, I think the leader that was most scarce was Overload, and the one I have seen the most is either Slug or Scavenger. The Leaders are usually pretty easy to find eventually, Plus the way SS works with a 2 both wave to start the year and then either a single new leader or in the case of 2018 only those 2 leaders has ensured a good healthy supply

I think that's kind of part of the problem, though. The expectation is poor because some guy gets through sometimes...less than upstanding means...stuff the company wants to reveal when it's time to reveal it.

I didn't have a whole lot of anticipation, but I'm not upset either because I know what's up. It's pointless blaming Hasbro for not revealing stuff fast enough, because they will never be fast enough.

It might be hard to keep up with leakers, but I think it's fair to criticize Hasbro when half of their reveals have already been found in stores.

Considering Knock out was in stores at Christmas time, I really am surprised they did a formal reveal for him and Magnus.

When they said 14, I thought it was going to be legacy and selects, instead of beast reissues, RED, and buzzworthy.

I've found none of them. Not a one. And not because I just haven't found them, but because they aren't out here yet. You can say it's fair criticism perhaps because of where you live, but you can't say it everywhere. I stand by what I said: they will never be fast enough, no matter how fast they get - the leakers will leak before they get to it.

They alluded to this in the last couple of FFFs they did. I guess they just gave up, because no mention of 'we wanted to reveal this first' happened this time around IIRC.

I'm sure Sludge and BB Ironhide look good for those interested. Interesting that they said that the Wheelie and Daniel Dinobot pack-ins were because there wasn't originally a plan for SS and/or SS86 having Core Class. Can't blame them for showing stuff that had been shown in leaks before....but:

And Arcee was shown before in a DIFFERENT HASBRO STREAM on top of that. That's not even things making it through the supply chain early, that's just someone not paying attention to/caring about what was already revealed and out.

Fair point. It's pointless to 'reveal' figures like vintage Tigatron & Scorponok, or Core Spike, when they're already on store shelves.

And you have to wonder - if this PvP fellow is getting figures through, shall we say, 'unofficial channels', you would think that Hasbro would be all over this guy. Either to find out how he's doing it and shut it down, or trace the leaked figures to the source. You have to figure that Hasbro should be hopping mad that someone is spoiling their reveals like this. Or maybe they're delighted by reason of the 'buzz'.

But it does make these reveal events somewhat disappointing when you've already seen like 90% of what was supposed to be a total surprise from start to finish.

The distribution for the SS leaders has been a mixed bag, to be sure. On the one hand, a Walmart near my realm had like 20 leader Grimlocks on the shelf for about seven months. On the other hand, leader Slug didn't turn up until Christmas, and promptly vanished. So I'll likely be keeping the HasbroPulse website bookmarked until Sludge is posted, keeping the metatarsals crossed, and hoping I can get ONE before they're all gone.

Nightprowler, Sandstorm and Buzzsaw beig part of Legacy instead of Selects is a nice surprise, all three are maybes for me. I probably will buy Nightprowler just because snow leopards are my favourite big cat, I kind of want Sandstorm and Buzzsaw too, but seeing as we're getting Tarantulas and Inferno there probably won't be enough room for them on my Predacon shelf.

The only other thing announced here I'm interested in is Sludge, he's pretty much exactly what I was hoping he'd be, just a decent cartoon-accurate Sludge that looks good next to the other two. I'm definite;y getting him, but I may hold off on a pre-order until after I've moved house next month.

Well, looks like SS finally got its chance to shine. I'm glad for fans of that line. The only Legacy were the ones that were already leaked, at least now I know they will be Walmart exclusives (basically 2022 version of the previous WFC Netflix line).

No Legacy wave 2 was a little disappointing, but at least it was more toy focused, and less on other merch, which is a step in the right direction.

Perhaps I worded it poorly, but I wasn't just referring to what's on shelves in my area (I've only seen the BW reissues and RED figures myself). Studio Series waves consistently come in months late in my area, so I don't expect the reveals to correspond to when I find them. I'm talking about distribution generally. Spike has been popping up in stores all across the globe. The first news of the Buzzworthy Kup and Cliff came from them being found in stores in Asia, not from leakers. Those RED figures have been in stores for a couple months now. I agree that it's pointless for Hasbro to try to keep up with leaks, but word of a new sighting travels just as fast as a leak, and if Hasbro won't reveal their product before their official distributors are putting them on shelves, people are buying them and they're spreading news of legitimately obtained new figures, then there's nobody else to blame.

Yeah, them teasing cons (with megatron's face no less) and not delivering on that was plenty dumb.
As for the Arcee reveal it is new since we never saw the toy properly in both modes. And that event was more of a shadow event, not open to public. Kinda like NY to fair vs Nuremberg Toy fair.

Nope, no partner for Sludge. I just posted a random theory in the SS86 thread that Swoop might include the practice Drone... because why not? I have no idea who they could use as a partner for Snarl.... He probably will not include a partner either, as he was barely in the film.

The whole Studio Series is a must get, of course.

Knock out was the ONLY R.E.D. figure I was looking forward to get since the line was 1st announced. That's because the original TFP DLX was so ugly. This R.E.D. version sure LOOKS good. It'll look GREAT if spray painted with a gloss coat. But it'll be a nightmare trying to get him in Canada's Walmart - in store (I've never seen a more than 2~3 OP, Meg, SS & SW hanging around and only 1 Cheetor) or online. I'm not that hopeful I'll be able to get Knock Out, or even looking forward to pose him, he'll be the 1st ever TF "statue" a buy.

At first I was thinking these would be akin to the Netflix WFC line that Walmart had, but the Legacy Packaging isn't any different, so it's more like how ER Thrust/Runabout and Kingdom T-Wrecks and Road Rage were Target exclusives in the U.S., but just in the normal generations packaging for whatever year they came out.

Speaking of which...There hasn't been much news about TF media lately. It seems Botbots is a bit late to the party, although they may bring out some new ones when the cartoon comes out.

But I've heard nothing about any media tie-ins for Legacy, or whatever the next kid-themed line will be now that Cyberverse is done.

That Arcee looks amazing. I'd love to see her in blue and black...not that I don't also like Legacy Prime Arcee. I'm just saying I'd like to see another one from SSBB Arcee.

I've been looking at those pictures of Sludge when it hit me that they changed the transformation scheme for him. It looks like the front half of the dino mode is hollow. The dino neck hinges back and the chest area splits into the wings like normal. Then the dino legs get flipped around inside and the whole backpack flips down to the robot chest which is now in the back half of the dino mode instead of being under the wings with the front dino legs going inside the robot chest. The robot legs and feet then flip around and split somehow for dino mode to not only become the back end and tail section like normal but also wrap around the robot chest but not covering it completely like the wings used to.

Another idea is that the robot chest is on the hinge system kind of like Grimlock's and comes down to cover the robot thighs for dino mode but that wouldn't leave a lot of room for the robot legs to move around and become the back end of the dino mode.

It's Sludge. I didn't think anything of it at first until I really noticed the red from the chest in the back half of the dino mode. That only happens with Snarl. Sludge should just be like an inverted top to bottom Slag.

The change in transformation is just something to look forward to with him. Quite a bit more elaborate comparatively to the more minimal changes made to Slag's transformation. Slag only really changed how the parts got to where they would go normally and not so much move sections to opposite ends and use opposite parts as something the other end was supposed to be.

And yeah, Swoop should also be sold at a leader price point to accommodate the wings. Sure his transformation isn't really involved but he's at least the same height if not taller than Optimus and Megatron. Making just his body at least a voyager without the wings. So the wings would add the rest of the price point as well as anything else they decide to throw in like a mini figure or extra weapons or something else. Maybe both a red and blue chest so they could be swapped at will by the owner instead of a minifigure? Maybe they make him a smaller leader and use the rest of that wave's budget on a larger leader to be shipped with him. That is a thing they do right? The wave has a budget which can be spread out unevenly to the figures in it. So you can end up with a $60 and a $40 leader sold at $50 each instead of two $50 leaders sold at $50 each. Or something like that.

I know, and both are supposed to be coming out this year, as was ROTB. We'll see when it all happens. As for BotBots, they have more merchandise coming which hasnt come out at retail yet (including action master type vehicle sets), so that's not a problem.

Was watching the livestream with some friends, one of whom was previously an intern at Hasbro. We had lots of fun ripping on the thing, with its parade of figures we already not only knew about but COULD BUY, and ridiculous stretching out of descriptions for retools- "So, uh, Buzzsaw, he still comes with the stinger gun, so that's cool" struck me as a classic case of Asbestos-Free Cereal (that is, advertising something that should be expected as basics as a feature). It was also interesting hearing my intern friend's take on it, notably how the team were using terms that were completely internal to Hasbro and would likely confuse viewers (notably, "partial" being Hasbro corporate lingo for a retool, in reference to Junkyard in particular).

Anyway, enough of that. Of the things that were revealed, Ironhide looks pretty cool, not sure if I'd go for him or Ratchet. Probably Ratchet though. Sludge I actually have very mixed feelings on. He seems to transform "wrong" with the back legs forming the arms instead of the front pair, which is a bizarre choice. Far from the worst, and he does look decent overall, but I think the SS Dinobots peaked with Grimlock. Like, I could be tempted to pick Grimlock up on his own despite owning the Takara Volcanicus box, but Slag honestly I do not care for at all, and Sludge falls squarely in the middle of the two extremes.

As for the stuff that we already knew about but was discussed/showed off more, Arcee looks great, definitely want her. Likewise Buzzsaw and Sandstorm look awesome; I think I'll wait for the rumoured toy colours Scorponok for that mold, Buzzsaw I think I'll get even if we do get that Paralzyer redeco as his colours are just gorgeous. Nightprowler, eh, not for me. Reissue Scorponok looks pretty great even if I wish he was in the OG toy colours. Tigatron...oof, that mold has not aged well. Those beast mode hind legs, oh dear. RED continues the proud tradition of not being very good (and not even because WhY nO tRaNsFoRm, I like non-transforming figures, they just look like kinda crummy action figures). Junkyard looks very nice, torn whether I'll get him or Wreck-Gar. Buzzworthy stuff was just figures we've already seen with less detail.

As for the non-toy related stuff the VR game looked very uninspiring and further makes me sad that the only VR game of any interest to me is the Little Witch Academia VR Broom Racing game (I want to headpat Sucy, but I don't want to spend close to £1000 just to do that), the Clash Royale clone collab sounded monstrously dull, and as much as I like Peter Cullen, I unfortunately cannot help but find the idea of what is basically Optimus Prime ASMR absolutely hilarious. Imagine if they branch out- "Starscream tells you how he's going to betray you and how he's the new leader of the Decepticons for 2 hours" anyone?

Interesting that Walmart is getting the Kingdom repaints as Legacy exclusives with the Velocitron series on the horizon. I suppose those will come after these and probably also take the space of the large Beast Wars reissues or something. My local Walmarts have done their resets but haven't really organized the tags yet so Voyagers are tagged for the pegs again like last year. Still a bunch of reissue Primals left, not sure why they're still holding space for them other than they're either place holding for other large reissues or another exclusive.

Anyway, I intend to get all of this except for the RED stuff. I know I'm in the minority, but I prefer painted windows over janky clear windows that only show random bot parts on the inside.

Wasnt much of a reveal with most stuff being out.

Bee Ironhide looks tempting though I'd have prefered no symbol/paint on the window. RED Knockouct is the only definite for me and I've not even ordered him yet when I could have got him a month back or so. Prices on Retro BW Scorponok are a wait until it is on sale kinda thing also Junkyard will be a pass at £35.

No loss on the Legacy beast bing Walmart exclusives when they are repaints of pretty bad molds. I'm avoiding sandstorm just because I dont weant to have to buy third party parts on top of the deluxe figure to make it look good.

Sludge looks good for those that want him

Glad to finally see Sludge!

Looks like lots of dino neck articulation, and the robot looks pretty alright. PotP Sludge's head was a bit meh...glad this one has more toy queues to it.

Also, the rear legs make his robot arms? Great idea to help with sizing.

I feel dino mode looks a little like a baby brontosaurus next to the others, but I can get past that. That's one of the things I appreciated about the Bayverse Dinobots...Sludge's scale to the others, being a voyager to deluxes, was perfect for his species of dino.

Sludge is... interesting. They could have gone the same route as the PotP mold to have both sets of dino legs articulated, and kept things closer to G1 and a bit less complicated (and therefore less costly). I have to wonder if he's maybe a pretool for Snarl (speaking of, if Snarl winds up in the Legacy line while all the others are SS86 I'm gonna laugh). In any case, they sacrificed the classic look of his forearms for the sake of dino leg appearance. An interesting change... I have to wonder how it would affect the look if they were still black in spite of that, maybe someone can do a digibash for evaluation purposes.

I like that they took advantage of the price point to give him actual dino neck articulation. And the more detailed robot head, and how aside from missing its tail that rocket launcher is super G1-accurate detail-wise.

Actually, I just checked, and in the cartoon, he didn't have black forearms. Who knew? PotP Dinobots were (apparently) toy accurate (well, except for blue Swoop), and SS86 will be cartoon accurate.

Yup! Everyone was hating on PotP for the combiner compromises and the lack of cartoon accuracy, but with the screen-accurate SS86 versions, we have two completely different sets that do completely different things. I had two of the original Dinobots, and I'll always appreciate PotP Slag in a way that's just not possible with the SS86 version. I'll get rid of the retail PotP Swoop after we get our SS86 version, but I'll probably hold onto the PotP team including Red Swoop forever.

I thought it was universally known that, at that point, hasbro was going toy accurate versus Takara's cartoon accurate paint jobs?

Did anyone notice how they kept referring to the Bumblebee movie as "Transformer Movie 6 Bumblebee"? Hasbro is really keen on ensuring that fans know the Bumblebee movie is part of the long line of live action Bay films.

We'll see how they talk of Rise of the Beasts.

Sorry, yes. My hesitation revolved around Blue Swoop being the regular release.

 Yeah. They should just roll with it. Where is the harm in drawing a line in the sand between Bayformers and the BB film? Its not like the films have overarching narrative elements linking them together inseparably. Just about every big story moment in BB diverges dramatically from '07, at the very least.

Also is (the eventual) Swoop confirmed at being Leader Class like the rest of the Dinobots? Given he is the smallest of the group.

Actually there's nothing in bb movie that discredit it as a prequel hence it hovers in this middle ground. Rise of the Beasts is going to be the one to decide things, which given the time travel hijinks involved, could be the perfect context for the reset button to be pressed.

As did I but that exact question was addressed by the producer.

To be fair though, the Bay films also contradicted themselves with the Last Knight showing autobots on earth throughout history. I guess as long as Bee has the same alt mode, face, and doesn't talk, they will lump them all together even if it makes no sense.

Swoop is the same size as the others in the cartoon.

Meanwhile, the Bee movie contradicted TLK by having Bumblebee first arrive on Earth in the 1980s when TLK showed him already on Earth as far back as WWII.

And this was a conscious decision since an earlier cut of the movie kept the TLK backstory in mind, meaning the movie was recut to contradict TLK.

I don't get why this distinction is so important for them to hold on to? I haven't seen TLK, but I did hear it contradicts the first film and even ROTF.

Oh? I imagine as I predominantly remember them from The Movie, it didn't occur to me that Swoop was the same size.

Precisely.

Given the talk of Swoop. Was it originally a leaker who started the Swoop is a Voyager talk? Or was it just fan speculation based on Swoops thin physique and simpler alt mode (despite the plastic needed for the wings alone)?

I thought this too. With the span of the wings, a Leader Class Swoop would look massive.

Even if he is voyager sized to make up for the wingspan, that is still a leader class release. Nothing regarding Swoop as a voyager release sounds exciting.

Not to mention, these Dinobots are massive leaders by today's standards. Even if Swoop is a bit shorter than the other Dinobots, he'd probably still be bigger than almost any other modern leader. There's just no way he'd work as a voyager.

So, it does seen to be that the suggestions of voyager swoop was either just general talking or mischief.
