"I said I was taking off a year from Transformers. Paramount made a mistake in dating Transformers 3 - they asked me on the phone - I said yes to July 4 - but for 2012 - whoops! Not 2011!!! That would mean I would have to start prep in September. No way. My brain needs a break from fighting robots.

Pretty much but you still don't want to rush someone when they throw darts. In competition it can be good (I've nailed a "hat trick", or 3 in a row, in the triple 17 space when rushed. Total of 153 pts.) If someone nailed a "hat-trick" planning this film we could end up with 30 consecutive minutes of "Bad Comedy" without the benefit of even a "Car Chase" to break up the torture. I'm all for letting the folks catch their breath and work on their aim a bit.

I agree that you need to have a break from giant fighting robots. We all do, lol!
I know it can be frustrating trying to come up with new and exciting ways to blow stuff up, cause collateral damage and build up your military pension fund.
I'm sure the Fandom will agree, you have done enough for our beloved franchise. So, as a gift to you, we, as a whole, give you permission to walk away from TF3 to pursue other projects.
We, the Fandom, will never forget what you did. Never.
Love Always,
Serpent O - R
PS- Remember when you did 'The Rock'? I know that was early in your career when you still had that 'It Has A Plot' problem, but you recovered well.

The definition of a Diplomat is - "Someone who can tell a person to Go To Hell in such a way that they look forward to the trip".
Bravo! You Rock!

meh, I'm not too sure exactly how much thinking really goes into the making of these, if the first one is any example. Isn't it just made via a dartboard with the words "Explosion" "Car Chase" "Bad Comedy" and "Bigger Explosion" on it?
All of that is your opinion, not a fact. For me the humor in the first was varied and funny, also reminded me a bit of old school amblin productions.

Again, subjective.

Also, let's not forget the inclusion of the Fallen in RoTF precludes somebody else quite possibly turning up in the 3rd film. So having him turn up to play on end-of-the-world-itus is a good marketing move.

You may want to seriously consider the consequences of what you are doing here. Without the full context of my earlier post you just manipulated what I said, which was done as a light hearted, non-serious response and, as far as I am concerned, tried to make me out to be a cynical a**hole ragging on the production crew. I was about to support a comment you hade made on another thread but you can find support from somewhere else. Rethink your approaches and examine some of these conversations better because not everyone on here is as serious and uptight as you seem to be. I'm trying to be polite about this but pull it on me again and I'll let a Mod deal with the situation.
This is the Internet, after all! 75% of it is entertainment and mindless, useless b.s. If I wanted a serious, studious atmosphere I wouldn't be on the World Wide Web! I'd hang out at the local Library or the Museum of History and Industry.

Newsflash Bay -- Transformers were fine before you came along, and they'll be fine after you're long gone.

Oh, Mr. Bay. That kind of statement reads as *BLASPHEMY*.
HK, not sure how much 'brain' is involved in fighting robots.

O.K. We're Cool!
So, has anybody heard whether or not Paramount has had anything to say about this little scheduling glitch? I didn't find anything when I was nosing around last night but I wasn't looking as hard as I probably could have.

Bay says he's going to take a year off from filming, which it sounds like he wants to do it next year (2010). So filming TF-3 would interfere with his plans to go on vacation.
