In the first video, they cheated out of Optimus' vehicle mode by using the one from the original movie(s)!

I can understand why they went with the quick change toys. Kids want to mimic the stuff they see on screen. What bothers me is how SO MANY of the toys are like this. There are only a few toys for AoE I think I'm getting. I'll get the one-step Optimus because Optimus but the rest look awful. That's unfortunate.

This is my concern as well being in the engineering field. I love complicated but well done transformations and from what I've seen that seems to be lacking in every figure from this line. Actually, now that I think about it, DOTM had the same problem and I bought nothing from that line either. :-(

Not a fan of the Skyhammer mold, and Drift being a helicopter and a car raises all kinds of scale issues (and before you start, Movieverse has been pretty good at avoiding blatant mass-shifting; not perfect but helicopter->car is definitely something they'd not do).

So it looks like Slog's weapons are removable. Cool!

That's weird. The original FE AoE OP blinded you with it's chrome overkill. The redeco where it is SUPPOSED to burn your eyes out with it's shine is more drab than the Voyager Galvatron.
The very awesome box art is a goddamn LIE. Yet one more excuse to not own the FE AoE mold.

It's got paint amounts comparable to the One-change Optimus, or atleast I think that's what it's called... All I can say is that I like his weapons, they don't look bad.

Transformers Colombia, a Facebook fan page, has provided the first official in and out of package images of the upcoming Age Of Extinction Voyagers Drift and Slog, courtesy of group member Felipe León Nájera.

Drift, as a helicopter, has been speculated by the fans and they felt they were onto something and now they finally have confirmation with visual proof. Drift, will in fact make an appearance (at least as a toy) in a helicopter alt mode. It should be noted that Drift is a redeco/remold of DOTM Skyhammer.

Slog is Sludge reimagined, and he looks pretty massive and strong. And packin' a lot of heat! Hopefully he and the other Dinobots will get a chance to tear up the scenery on the big screen and the audience will have fun going along for the ride!

Over the past week, I have tried, and tried, and tried to see his arsenal as anything else, but it just ain't possible. Someone has to come out and say it, and it may as well be Skwisgaar:

"Diz Bronchiozaurus's veapons is dildos!"

He's gonna' cause seismic activity alright. In the secondary market price of Kiss Players.

Oh yeah, Driftcopter...looks great. Even with that head, he redeems the notion of gold on a Bayniverse helicopter, after the tragedy that was ROTF Blazemaster.

nope.. it'll clog the shelves like platinum magnus has been doing since its release.

does anyone else think an AOE platinum optimus prime would've been the PERFECT opportunity for hasbro to give us takara's version of leader class prime.. with all of the silver paint, the more accurate chest detail.. i bet you more people would be willing to pay $60 for that than they would figure this ugly grey plastic brick.

i just don't understand their mentality when it comes to exclusives.. i wish they'd give us accurately colored versions of figures that they've already screwed up rather than just throwing chrome on them or adding a repainted minicon.. they're losing out on so many sales.

also.. it's a bummer that they simply recycled a mold for drifts helicopter mode.. and STILL PAINTED IT ROYAL BLUE.. i don't understand where they are coming up with royal blue.. it doesn't make any sense.. it's like when they had a hard on for coloring starscream that sandy beige color.. then they got their heads out of their asses and realized he was grey.. it's too bad they don't have the time to do that with drift.. i mean, seriously, is a black figure with light blue highlights really that difficult for them to wrap their heads around?

anyways.. slog looks incredible.. i'm still super happy that he's not just a deluxe.. a voyager long necked dinosaur is incredibly cool. and once they're all repainted to look movie accurate, the movie dinobots are going to look incredible displayed together.

skyhammers a great mold but making it into drift is just odd, but at least the kids will have the opportunity to get a good mold in this line. Sludge looks pretty bad, he looks big he is taking up most of the box space so hes got that going for him but not much else. As for that gray prime hes just more shelf clutter, really dont get the thinking behind this "silver" crap. The dinobots were made colorful to get kids attention, so isnt the silver treatment a step backwards? Would be one thing if it was chrome but its not its just dull plastic with nothing to make you even glance at it.

A running theme for me with these new Dinobots is the desire to get rid of all their weaponry. It's ugly and attached in such bizarre and obtrusive ways. Those bits will be bagged up ASAP and never seen again.

What a waste of a Skyhammer. Hopefully Drift is supposed to be the jet Transformer that the folks at CinemaCon described. If not, then this mold should have been used for that jet transformer (Cyclonus) or a non-movie character.

Wow, that Drift looks kinda neat! The robot mode reminds me of Sky... Wait... *actually reads article* Huh. A retooled Skyhammer (one of the few good DOTM toys IMO). Hmmm... I'm a bit iffy on repaints, though this one still looks neat.

I want Slog more though. I want ALL the dinobots! (Except Leader Grimlock, I'll settle for Voyager).

i didn't say he was black.. i said he wasn't ROYAL BLUE.. and black is a much closer color than royal blue and it's an easier color for hasbro than a dark blue would be.

plus, it's only dark blue when the sun is shining down on it.. otherwise, it looks like this..

It comes with light and sound effects, is 25 inches long and includes a voice chip recording by Peter Cullen, priced at $16.96. Check out photo proof below.

Having a helicopter version of Drift makes so much sense.

I mean really, why not? We've hardly seen him in any of the footage we've seen, but we've seen that awesome shot of Crosshairs and his parachuting skills.

Parachutes operate in the sky ... helicopters operate in the sky ... totally makes sense to use Drift.

Skyhammer was the only figure I bought from the DotM line and as bad@$$ as he looked originally the blue just doesnt do it. Sludge (cant bring myself to call him Slog) had a lot of potential and I am sure I will pick him up to add to my ever growing dinobot collection but the bot mode is just... meh >:oP

Drift as DOTM Skyhammer?

What the hell? I mean, I knew Hasbro was getting cheap on us, but slapping a coat of paint on some random mold and calling it something it is not is pretty low.

On the other hand, Sludge is AWESOME. Definitely picking it up.

I see the point.

:BOOM:

That silver OP looks terrible.
I'm really betting parents are going to be looking at this figure like "WTF, it's a white optimus. Fuck this kid, you're not getting a $60.00 repaint!"

Drift looks... okay.
Slog looks awesome.

AHEM....Uh Earth to Hasbro...Um why in the hell did Slog get the proper silvery grey treatment and Galvatron did not? I guess it would have been too much to ask for right. I mean sheesh...only 1 of 7 dinobots is the proper coloring and who knows if Slog is even in the movie. What's that Hasbro... @#$% Me? Speak any English? @#$% You! That is all I have to say about that. =;
