The first needs little introduction, as Transformers Earthrise Titan Class Scorponok is getting another production run! This beast of a Transformer made an impact when it was released last year, and if you're ordering him now; don't forget to pick up the new update of his partner, Fasttrack, to complete the set and give Scorponok his spear!
Earthrise Scorponok

The second is one of the latest figures to hit the Selects line, G2 Sandstorm! This redeco is of the popular Earthrise conehead mould (it itself a retool of the Earthrise seeker mould) and is based on an unproduced concept made during the Generation 2 toyline back in the 90s. Notable for not featuring a garish colour scheme like many of it's contemporaries.

Will you be taking advantage of these new pre-orders? Have you already got these figures?

Wait is it? He's the only other Titan I've even considered (Trypticon is my only Titan) and he looks pretty great.
This is a weird question, but how small can you compact him? I'm moving around constantly and Trypticon is already pretty tough to find a space for while doing so.

Well it's my opinion only, of course. But he's solid, no hollow spaces like Metroplex and Fort Max, my experience with Devastator was only somewhat satisfying, I definitely rank Scorpy higher than him, and even though I think Tryppy is also solid and worth the value, his awkward build makes him a little less desirable to me. Again, just my opinion. The only other Titan that comes close to Scorponok is Omega Supreme, but I place Scorponok above him because he's not a partsformer and because he's a headmaster, and we finally got proper MegaZarak and Zarak figures. My only 2 gripes with Scorponok are that his face should have been the same cream color that Megazarak's chest is, and he should have come with 2 pairs of cannons for his legs as well.Nuclearxpotato wrote:Rodimus Prime wrote:Not just for the price, but because it's easily the best of the Titans!ZeldaTheSwordsman wrote:Yes, for Primus' sake get him. Well the easier way to get him into the smallest space is by putting him in Scorpion mode and just folding his claws up over his back and folding his tail down. That might get him to fit into an 18 by 18 by 18 inch cube. Definitely easier than Trypticon, whose tail is just mostly in the way. This is a weird question, but how small can you compact him? But i'm disappointed that she doesn't gave two guns and that her pistol isn't black or pure white. (Not this transparent grey) I'd hate losing that thing because of the obscure color. Personally i'm fine with her body design as it is without buying modding.

ZeldaTheSwordsman wrote:ER Arcee certainly looks to be a good action figure, but a lot of people are not so impressed with her being even more of an extreme shellformer than Break, Big Convoy, and Thunderblast. T30/Legends Arcee managed at least some integration and a more compact backpack, and isn't that far behind in terms of articulation. She also has a better-looking car mode IMO, due to the more defined inward curve at the middle.
It's just one removable shell. Big Convoy needed his gun to complete his shell. Break can't remove anything and Thunderblast has a enormous backpack. Thrilling 30 is good but those black areas on her are terrible in vehicle mode. Earthrise Arcee is also more curvier overall.

What do mean by short packed? She was 2 per case just like the other 3 wave 2 members and is even getting a kingdom release.

...That is, unless it's for ER Titan Scorponok. As expected, IT'S THE SAME SHIPPING PRICE FOR A TITAN AS FOR A FRIGGIN' DELUXE! So even when adding shipping, taxes, and exchange rates, ordering from Pulse amount to around 5$CAN cheaper than buying full price from Toys R Us. And that's if Toys R Us would bother to have anything for sale to begin with.
So yeah, Scorpy preordered. No way I'm going to miss out this time.

For a Canadian, shipping from TF Source is DOUBLE the Pulse price. So for once, the better deal is on Pulse.

Like Hoist, he's amazing looking in both modes and is fun to transform. The need to partform the cab is a bit regrettable, but he's the "shield guy" so I can forgive it.
What is truly unfortunate is that he's so plain looking. He is WAY too black everywhere and is in serious need of colors. Especially for the windows. That's why I ordered the Reprolabels for both him and Hoist. With the labels, they will be absolutely perfect.
Both of these guys deserves paying the price of one more deluxe for the upgrade.

Because Airwave was on sale, I told myself "why not" and I bought him. I need a set of Micromasters to go along and I lucked out on the muscle cars on clearance.
The Micromasters and not really good, but they fill their role as crewmembers. I didn't knew Airwave was a Decepticon so I head-cannon'd him into an Autobot (with some Repros) so that he can be Skylinx's partner. They look fantastic together! Plus Airwave is very, very good.

I don't think window stickers would improve Trailbreaker, unless you're talking about for the camper shell. Tinting the windshield would be better than stickering it.
I personally think he doesn't look all that plain, with how the gray and red break up the black, although G1-based decals on the inside of the truck panels wouldn't go amiss.

Here's one way to get a gun for Scorponok

So you mean that Airwave is an Autobot in the Japanese continuity?
Eh, Amazing that my "headcanon" is actually canon somewhere!
As for Trailbreaker, The black windows on black body make it look all black. That's way too plain. Plus the Repro set improve the look by a lot.

And the bot mode get a nice "hoopf".

The only sticker I won't use is the hood sticker for Hoist. I love that battle damage plus the sticker stick out like a sore thumb. But the rest of the set give a lot to improve the look.
As usual with upgrade kits, it's always a matter of tastes and whenever one is willing or not to spend the extra money.

ZeldaTheSwordsman wrote:I'm just saying, tinting the windshield (even just with a magic marker or the like) would be better than covering up perfectly good clear glazing with an opaque sticker.
I could do it from behind, but then, it will not match the rear windows.
Well, it all depend on the look you're going for and the thing that is nice with sticker sets, you are not obliged to use them all.
I'll use the window stickers for trailbreaker for sure. But I think I will not use them for Hoist. The spare stickers will be used for an upcoming custom project sooner or later.

Yeah, back in 1989-1991, almost every single Micromaster was sold as an Autobot in Japan. The only ones that were Decepticons were the Race Track Patrol, Metrobomb (a Micromaster that came with Metrotitan, and who was a slight redeco of Skystalker), and Skystalker himself (who was sold in his American packaging as a mail-away figure).-Kanrabat- wrote:So you mean that Airwave is an Autobot in the Japanese continuity?

PlUs it look more stable than the spear paddle. I'll have to try it out.

That really makes sense when you consider ALL the bases were meant to connect together. I did it anyway figuring you always have that ONE neighbor.

By Acid Rain I assume you mean Acid Storm? We already had him in SIEGE. We had the entire Rainmaker trio, in fact.
I would keep the Deluxe versions around, although they'd be benched from main play. Their weapons could be lent to the Voyager versions though. Somebody photograph ER Starscream with the Classics toy's Null Ray launchers.

Depends how many other deluxe jets you have and if they ever get displayed together (aerialbots, chug thunderwing, baynus etc). Most my jets are deluxe sized though I'd prefer voyager but I like my titans return megatron jet being bigger than the classics seekers and ss nitro variants kind of fits with them as a brute/leader with its voyager size. The harriers (hftd jet blade and ss Shatter) are probably better in deluxe but I'm kinda wanting the oversized ko ss Shatter and dropkick over the deluxes. Helicopters have the same scale problems too with them being a mix of voyagers and deluxes yet I'm wanting the largest possible blackout. End of the day, scales not usually possible, just go with what looks best for you.

I've had both of the WFC Ironhides and I love them both, especially after Ironhide's kinda infamous history of toys. However, the one thing that frustrated me most about ER Ironhide (ERonhide) is his kibble shield. My problem with kibble shields is that they're usually too small, but the one time we get a proper shield... it's the most awkward thing for the figure to wield.
That is until you plug his included gun into the shield and turn it into a handle!

Just slide the cannons out, plug his gun into the shield horizontally, and bam! (it's easier to plug the gun into his hand upright first and then attach the shield to that)

It's so obvious, I don't know why it took me this long to do it. The one downside is that he'll be without a firearm... but if you've bought like any other WFC figure, you have at least four spare guns lying around (Especially Astrotrain). My choice is the Doomblast because Ironhide needs two cumbersome weapons to awkwardly wield.
Sorry for the weird white-balancing, I still can't find the option for the life of me.

I was really thinking about this set due to the MASK homages but ultimately there are only two molds in the box that are any good, and I can get them in the space station set, with a rocket launcher.

The MASK stuff was what caught my eye for sure, but I missed out on the big 10-pack of Micromasters when that dropped last year(?), so I figured my collection could use a few more. I had high hopes when Hasbro gave IDW the MASK license, I figured we'd see new toys of them for sure but sadly it was not to be.

That is an example of "love of the obscure". The cartoon, if not hardly ever, never featured it in a significant role, thus "it does not exist" to most. Having it be referenced by a later toy, also serves as an acknowledgement and validation, which ticks the box of a different kind of people.

I wonder how a certain Energon toy did in that regard:
