chuckdawg1999 wrote:Nemesis Prime is a fantastic repaint of the Clash of the Transformers, Power Surge Optimus Prime, itself a retool of the Warrior Class Optimus Prime figure. The black and silver pops on the figure thanks to the teal highlights. The mold features a great cross play pattern with the weapons. If you can only get one, either US version is great, but if you can get two, Nemesis Prime is worth the price.

Exactly that, a red blade:
I gues they wanted to give a different weapon colour than before since it would be the same weapon again

I guess it was a part of a mistranslation in the Japanese think that Paralon being called "a scavenger" referred to his name instead of what kind of person he is. Hope they don't make the same mistake with the rest of his group should more of them besides Scatterspike get Adventure toys.
On a hunch I decided to Google パラロン pararon and I'm getting some interesting results, like one relating to a Multi-Sport event called パラロン・パンバンサpararon panbansa and 全国パラロン・ケミアスルーフ防水工事業協同組合 zenkoku pararon kemiasurūfu bōsui kōji-gyō kyōdō kumiai, a roofing contractor company. Trademarks shouldn't be that much of a problem since they're not in Toys & Games, but still... Most results referred to our Paralon though, from blogs who got the US version first.

Like, they haven't randomly borrowed a toy from another toyline like Generations Skrapnel or Animated Swoop since Wave 8. C'mon Takara, that was half the fun of this!

TAV30 Battle Grimlock, TAV31 Black Shadow, TAV32 Rumble & Frenzy, and TAV VS-SP Dogfight vs. Decepticon Runamuck were the last ones, huh? I guess the line no longer needed bolstering, and the Legends Class figures now have a place in Legends.
For what it's worth, it did cut down the list of unused toolings to this:
- Gears
- Huffer
- Chop Shop
- Windcharger
- Warpath
- Wreck-Gar
- Goldfire
- Dreadwing
- Jhiaxus
- Crosscut
- Starscream (Leader)

A lot of those make sense to me; but I'm surprised they didn't go for Gears, Windcharger and Crosscut since those are retools that happened with the original toys too. Then again, they've only just released Skids recently, so maybe we'll see Crosscut from them soon?

That TRU prime is only expensive because BBTs hadto buy it off someone who bought it at TRU in japan. The price is more represetative of their hassel to get it than what the toy is actually worth.
Also what do you mean hasbro went further with the sword, they just left is all in black:
It you are comparing it to the SDCC exclusive, then I dont get the point since they are totally different versions and one is a premium exclusive being compared to a standard retail takara release. The only fair comparison to make is with the actual Hasbro Warrior toy whichw as also a standard retail release.

But... they're not going for the same thing. If someone wants a Windblade accurate to the show - or, for that matter, the comics - they're certainly not going to get the SDCC version. It's a bit like saying "Well, I know some of you are on the fence on which version of Starscream to get; Hasbro or Takara... so to compare to Takara's Starscream, here's Hasbro's Thundercracker".
I get where you're coming from, but the two figures are trying to accomplish two very different things.

But I'm talking about the swords, and that if Hasbro wanted to they could've done something really nice for RID Windblade. Also, who says that Windblade isn't going to show up in season whateverthey'recallingitnow of RID in those colors?

Probably the fact this is a Generations boxset rather than an RiD one. And also that it's an SDCC exclusive which is most certainly not marketed towards children hence would make no sense to put on the show.
But on the small chance she does, that's when it'd be relevant; not now. And even then the comparison still wouldn't be apt, because if you wanted a representation of those colours, you certainly wouldn't go Takara.

Well... no. Because the Takara version is about as different a colour scheme as you can get from the SDCC Windblade.
All I'm saying is that if you're doing a direct comparison like this, then you should compare two figures who are trying to achieve the same thing. You'd get Adventure Windblade for a representation of her in the show, or for some people, as a representation of her in the comics as it works for that purpose as well. The RiD 2015 version of the mold tries to achieve the same thing, hence why the comparison is apt. This isn't the reason you'd get the SDCC version - you'd get the SDCC version because it came with that Brainstorm you really wanted because you want a radically different version of the mold in different colours that might appeal to you better than her actual colours. Not because it's an accurate representation of Windblade in media.

That makes no damn sense Chuck, and you know it. That SDCC windblade can only be officialy purchased in a box set and you only have it because you wanted the Brainstorm, showing how unlikely it is that someone seeks out that version of Windblade when contemplating whether to get it insead of the Takara version.
If you want your videos to be as useful as possible, compare the Takara version to the actual Hasbro version of that deco. That's what people are actually curious about. This is like comparing UW Bruticus to a combiner from FunPub, no one is thinking of either gettign one or the other.

Because "season whateverthey'recallingitnow" just ended (in Canada) with a mere six episodes and she wasn't in any of them, let alone in the SDCC Windblade's Fortress Maximus-based deco (yes, that's who the SDCC figure's colors are based on).chuckdawg1999 wrote:Also, who says that Windblade isn't going to show up in season whateverthey'recallingitnow of RID in those colors?

Makes perfect sense to me, besides the big difference between the Takara and Hasbro version of Windblade is the amount of black detailing. Funny thing, Hasbro Windblade is roughly going for the same amount as the SDCC version, no way I'm paying that much

Definitely don't pay that much. When you have the Takara version there's literally no reason; the RiD version of the mold is the worst.

That's way more than retail. First, it's coming from Canada, second, it's sold by a third party seller. I do monitor the prices on figures, but only in the US, and I assure you unless it's sold by Amazon, TRU, Target, or Walmart; Windblade is going for roughly the same amount as the Adventure version.

Calm down now William, there's no need to loose it. First, you didn't post a listing, you posted a picture to a listing, and clearly in the pic, it says Canadian shipping. So since I know how much Windblade is going for on Amazon US, I just assumed it was an Amazon Canada listing. I'm sorry if I'm upsetting you but I've been around a lot longer than you and know what's up.

Firstly, the pic shows how much it costs to import to Canada. So obviously it can't be a Canadian listing. But that's beside the point.
You said you know what you are talking about and yet you still haven't shown me an adventure windblade at the same price shipped as the Hasbro one I showed. You haven't shown any evidence to your claims. Where is there an adventure windblade for 20$ shipped?

#BreakingTensionOnTwoOfMyFavoritePeopleHere
As far as the RiD version of Windblade, I got her as an add-on to my expensive SDCC Brainwave figure (yeah, me too). And while I was initially happy, I am finding less and less to enjoy about her. Sure, the Generations was a tabbing mess in alt mode, and would tip over in bot mode if my cat sneezed (and I don't even have a cat, so what's up with that?) but overall, I like the look of Generations version more than RiD. For one thing, in alt mode I have one wing that has a tendency to pop up and not sit well against the shoulder pad. I blame that shoulder pad, really...

Hmm, really? I was recently considering the SDCC set due to price drops and was being eased on the idea due to Windblade being a decent figure and the colour scheme looking nice even if it's not representative of anything... but that's a bit of a bummer.

In the meantime, I have yet to see a TAV Windblade for cheaper than $35, which for me is too much for a deluxe. I did it once, and that will be the last for a long time. But it was worth it since that Supreme Bee is awesome.
Speaking of surpreme: it would be pretty cool to get a Steeljaw Supreme and a Starscream supreme

I'd be happy with a legends Steeljaw with the armor bits and such

Thanks D-Max, glad to know I can count on our news staff to bring sense (and evidence) to the table
Speaking of those 3, I forget D-Max but did you get any of those Power Surge Primes? And you Kurona, are the Clash figures available at toysrus in scotland? I know they are online http://www.toysrus.co.uk/toys/browse/br ... 04309?Dy=1 but its really too bad how the normal power surge prime is £14.99 while the Clash redeco is £19.99.

I have yet to see the white one that I want as Thunderclash, which is disappointing as I've seen ad bought Paralon and Starscream. That's the one I want. funny enough, TRU here sells the clash ones for $2 cheaper than the retail figures

It kind of popped up out of nowhere, yeah! I think it came out about the same time as the latest Jeffrey Prime (the battlepack scaled one)JelZe GoldRabbit wrote:Wait, when was that a thing? I never heard of that recent release.
